    Hey Stormkeep!
    Great video, good to see more battletome coverage!
    As far as wound allocation goes, the Euphoric Killers in its current form counts every wound/mortal wound allocated to the UNIT, before wound allocating to individual MODELS (thereby counting ALL damage, including "overkill"). The wound allocation happens in two parts, and a clarification from GW could lessen the understandable confusion :)
    The 6's from temptaion-dice, are counted as a modifier, like Fate dice from TZ, meaning "unmodified 6-to-hit" effects do not trigger, example longstrikes.
    I myself hope to see GW clear this up, to ease the burden on our dear TO's

      As per 14.1, "Wounds are allocated to the models in a unit 1 wound at a time"
      As per 14.2, a model is considered slain as soon as they have enough wounds to match their Wounds characteristic, and you cannot allocate wounds to a model that is slain. A slain model is removed from play after all wounds have been allocated to its unit.
      As per 14.1, "If a unit is destroyed, all wounds that remain to be allocated to the unit are negated and have no effect". (A destroyed unit is defined as a unit that has all of its models removed)
      So if you have to allocate 50 wounds to a 10 wound unit, you only end up allocating 10 and the remainder are not allocated (negated).
      If I'm missing something in my understanding of the rules, please let me know. If overkill damage works for Euphoric Killers then it changes everything!
      Good point about the temptation dice and modifiers!

      @@TheStormkeep True about the 14.1 wound allocation, but the final part of the attack sequence (see 13.3.1) adds up all damage and allocates a sum of wounds "equal to" the total damage - and then you allocate 1 wound at a time to models as per 14.1. There are 2 instances of allocation. The Euphoric killers state that it counts the allocation pre-negation, and is therefore before wards (ergo before allocation to models) or the like.
      If we counted the other way around, it would cause the Euphoric killer battle trait to cause MORE depravity against targets with wards, which in my opinion would be wierd :P
      I agree that it is very confusing, and i myself can see it both ways. So im excited to see a faq!

      @@user-ko9pi3gx7y Euphoric Killers says "you gain 1 depravity point for each wound and mortal wound caused by attacks that are allocated"
      I don't think this counts the total number of wounds, it specifically refers to wounds being allocated. Negating a wound with a ward also denies a depravity point, since the wound is never allocated (wards are done before allocating a wound). Since you cant allocate wounds once all models are slain, all overkill damage is negated, and therefore not allocated, and therefore does not generate depravity points.
      Seems like a prime target for an FAQ, either way.

    • @StormkeepDaniel
      @StormkeepDaniel ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s only one allocation step. The totaling you are thinking of is referred to as damage inflicted it is specifically not Allocation. Allocation is the step where models are determined as slain by attempting to allocate wounds (which can be warded at that step) but are not yet removed. Euphoric Killers mentions nothing about pre-negation either so words definitely work.

    • @user-ko9pi3gx7y
      @user-ko9pi3gx7y ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheStormkeep @StormkeepDaniel I think the omitting is key, as alot of rules specifically state "caused and is not negated" - which EK does not, meaning it will register wounds even if they are negated (Example could be Trampling Charge, BT from Ogors and Venomous Assault, BT form Gitz). This must mean that the unit-allocation that happens from "damage inflicted" does indeed trigger abilities that count wounds before negation and before model-allocation. I keep reading these as seperate instances.
      Maybe its best to wait for a FAQ. But this has been a great discussion!
      One of the "non-factual" elements that blindly convinces me, is that thematicly it would make sence that depravity is caused in the excess of overkill - but this is purely a flavour aspect and not reasoning :P

    Love the reviews from the point of view of the guys with the oldest book. Everything seems AMAZING! I enjoyed the video, but sometimes it seemed like you were assuming every unit had access to all the buffs all the time. They can certainly come from a lot of vectors, but I'm not sure everything is cheap enough or hardy enough to live in those best case scenarios.
    I'm interested to see how drapravity actually plays out. The internet figured out pretty quickly that you almost never take that 6. It's worrisome that so much of the army hinges on that mechanic. Could be OP or terrible, and it's largely in the hands of the opponent, rather than the pilot.
    I look forward to more of these videos.

      Thanks, glad you liked this review!
      The buffs certainly are not guaranteed, they require (rerollable) spells and proper positioning, but compared to a lot of other armies they are very easy to get :P

    Crown sets the attacks characteristic in melee to 1, not -1 attacks. Even better!

    It's gonna be painful offering temptations to our Longstrikes

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be... But they probably won't offer them on hit rolls because they turn into mortal wounds, and we wound on 2+.
      Worst case scenario you lose 1 longstrike AFTER shooting, but.Slaanesh units are so fragile that every volley is crippling to them.

  • @Hnatiuk16

    Do we want first or second turn against Slanessh? I'm new to sigmar and Stormcast, but it seems like if we get turn one we don't even want to move onto the board because the Slanesh units move so fast? Is the game just castle and shoot them down with Longstrikes?

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on what they are using, the battleplan, player deployments, board position, etc.
      In general you should try to kill their Blissbarb Archers as fast as possible. Stormcast are very good at this, since we have units like Longstrikes that can shoot from just outside their threat range, and other shooting units can be dropped into play with Scions to shoot immediately or Translocated into range while deploying safely far back.

    stormcast and the orruk book is like 1 year and 8 months old now , i wonder if we are going to get a new book before this edition end , or it have to be 4th edition. we despreately need one.

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stormcast are probably waiting until 4th edition (next summer)... But it seems likely we will get a minor rules update in the upcoming narrative campaign books that come out before 4th edition.
      Rumours suggest new orruks coming before 3rd edition is over. Kruleboyz in particular!

    Wouldn't the Battle Reg for the Chariot Slam list not work since Bladebringer on Exalted is 10 wounds and the Keeper is 16?

    In 4.0, will it launch with:
    - Malerion vs Slaanesh
    - Lumineth vs Slaanesh
    - Stormcast vs Malerion
    Narratively speaking do you think Blood Warriors and Painbringers are more like specialized Chaos Warriors with a god specific mark or Chosen?
    I have always thought them the former (with say Skullreapers being more the latter)
    Agree on Keeper, I think some of the online chatter is underestimating the KoS

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Painbringers feel like Slaneesh+ Chaos Warriors, and Blood Warriors are Khorne+ Chaod Warriors. Similar damage and defensive profiles to regular Warriors. It's strange that Painbringers are the most expensive of those 3
