I can see taking Neave on herself for around 110-120 points, or maybe Neave + Lorai for 200-220. But "the dudes" makes this whole package too expensive and too slow, imo. Nice models for Primes tho.
I agree that standard Stormcasts (like Liberators, but basically every non-animal unit with 2 wounds) should have 3 wounds. And also 3 attacks. And most heroes should get +1 wound and +1 attack as well. Those changes would make them feel properly elite compared to the units and heroes of other armies.
The rent discussion: The Slayersword from Skulltaker, the Sword that slayed... everything... has rent 1... Wouldnt it be nice to gibe skulltaker rent 2, a link-he fight- Bloodletter unit can fight AND he is a Priest. Wow it would be so awesome... Maybe the new season is about unique heros... maybe they get the spot in the sun.
I know you glansed over this pretty quickly, but consider this in a sylvaneth army, where you now has the possibility of a dual strike and fade. This is expensive, but it can basicly give you this: Spirit of durthu gives his monstrous action of strike kast on his target, neave goes first and zips away, then durthu does his thing and zips away too. This is dependent on a 3+ for the strike last, but still a very viable combo that could destroy 2 units/heroes pr turn😮 or am I missing something?
How? If durthu gets his strike last off and both engage one unit each, it's attack and disappear X2. I could even see this against mega gargants with a lady of vines castle they can return to and durthu getting his spiteswarm buff and so on
The big problem here is that the fights last isn't reliable enough. A strategy that revolves around rolling a 3+ after you have committed isn't a strategy you can rely on. And in fact it's a lot worse than that, since you also are probably relying on getting off a Spiteswarm and then rolling the 2+ to get Durthu in, and then on making two charges. By the time you add up all the probabilities the combo is actually working well under 50% of the time. More generally, what Sylvaneth struggle on is holding objectives, not doing damage and popping out. Doubling down on doing damage then popping away is going to be a "win more" in most cases, helping you dominate games you would have won anyway without increasing your ability to win games you struggle in.
@@thomsoneliteThat assumes you get strike last off :P Unfortunately you won't know if that's the case until the end of the charge phase and you've already committed to moving/charging
Don't really see taking them in Fyreslayers when you could just take 2 Gunhaulers instead and get a lot more maneuverability, better survivability, better ability to complete tactics, etc. If she had fights first it might be different, but aside from T1 when going first, as Fyreslayers you do not want to be foregoing an activation on one of your core Fyreslayer units in order to do her teleport gimmick, but if you don't, she probably dies before she gets to fight; bad situation either way. Perhaps more importantly, you also can't afford to waste 2 hero slots on heroes that don't do anything for your core units.
For its price this unit is utter garbage. You’re not gonna be able to punch a hole deep enough in any screen to get to any foot heroes and she’s just gonna get monster action off the table if your charger and anything big. It’s nice to see them stated out like storm cat should be. But as you said, having only one of each doesn’t really mean anything. Unfortunately this is another $80 miss for me.

Great timing. I actually picked them up about an hour before this vid dropped.
I just want to run Neave. The other models are ok, but I really just want a cheap, early turn blender.
Let's see how they update Neave in the next battletome
Hopefully she can be taken without the entourage!
Thanks for your great review - would still be a cool gameplay to have a hit and run assasin in your army 🙂
Maybe some day the points will come down, or they will be available to be taken seperately

This could be useful with the strike first bugs, but in every other scenario I'm pretty sure Neave will die before she gets to attack :P

@@assistantref5084 Yup... and don't forget Neave can also fail the Windrider 2+ roll

The wizard is nice for scoring Magical Dominance
But yeah you'd get more mileage in fyreslayers from adding mobile/shooting units instead
do they have stormstrike keyword?, or is it just like ionus where they are moving it away from that
No THUNDERSTRIKE keyword, just like Ionus
Strong indication that keyword is going away in 4th edition
