German Giovanni Recinos I wasn’t the original poster but I’d be happy to help you with your English if you could help me with my Spanish too if you want?
Considering you already know French, Spanish will come easy. I speak French and can read (not speak or hear) Spanish and understand a substantial portion of what's written, and the grammar is much simpler than French.
Luis % no, el francés es más complicado y no tiene reglas tan claras como en español; pero igual algunas palabras se pueden asociar y tratar de entender
Love this! Loved the idea of using mnemonics. When I learned Esperanto in a week, I just used Memrise for the 1000 most common words. I'll have to try that for my next language challenge!
@@alexgeor8102 For Esperanto, yes. However, that's only because of how easy it is to convert nouns to verbs to adjectives to whatever type of word you need. For example, I learned the word "uzo" as "use". Because it ends in an -o, I know it's a noun. Then, I can change it to "uzas" to get "uses". For other languages, Memrise may not be enough. It is a great start and I highly recommend it! Hope this helped :)
If you ever decide to learn Korean could you please vlog that process as well? It would be so incredibly helpful to see how you tackle languages that don't use the latin alphabet and have completely different grammar. Love your channel!
Its weird hearing you not have a good accent in a language. Keep it up. (Im sure you will). Spanish is easy af. After Spanish learn Portuguese. SO easy. Also, you should share some of your Anki decks.
Bro exactly my goal I just bullshit with Spanish for no more than 10 hours of practice a month for a couple months and I was surprised to know I know 90 of the top 100 most used phrases and 145 of the top 150 most used verbs and able to breakdown what 70% of spanish comment sections say it really is crazy I'm started back up now I want to live in sudamerica for a couple years traveling throughout Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, French Guiana and then learn Portuguese and travel through out Brazil maybe even live there long term and teach English there I heard English teachers get 21-25$ U.S on average an hour but that could be bull shit lol.
this might be a little irrelevant but watching this after going through a tough break up, it made me realize that nothing is impossible if you put your effort into something really tough so by making myself believe that it's not a hard thing to get over and just doing it helped me a lot. thank you :)
Damn i'm loving this video. As a spanish native who speaks english i find your method so enjoyable and i'm loving watching your progress man. It's heartwarming to see someone having that interest in my language. Kudos my man.
What the heck? Spanish is my native language and I’m positive “you want” is “tu quieres” or “quieres”. “Quería” means wanted, like he wanted to sing- “el quería cantar”
Bro, I know three languages: Portuguese, English (obviously) and a little bit of Spanish (the necessary to don't starve in Mexico lol). He learned much more than I know in only 7 days. With time he will improve it. For people who go from portugues to learning spanish is not that hard but from english to spanish is a complete different language with no similarities between them. Give him a break lol
Good luck with that, I am a native german speaker here is a pro tipp: There is more grammar stuff in German than in english, but even natives fuck the articles up sometimes so don't be harsh on yourself with it our grammar can confuse us as well ^^
Ich lerne auch Deutsch! I've learned it for about 12 months now, and I was able to speak to a German (a pretty short conversation though). You can do it! Good luck :)
You are my greatest inspiration to learn languages. I'm 12 years old, I'm Venezuelan (so I speak Spanish), learned English in 8 years (most of them were to perfect some stuff like pronunciation), Italian in 5 months roughly (my family is Italian so I often heard them, then we moved to Italy and went to school not knowing almost nothing, but now I get everything) and currently at the peak of learning French, this last one was thanks to your method, and now I'm trying to get fluency and comprehension, let's see how do I do I the next couple of months.
For people learning Spanish, I recommend you to watch these shows ☺⬇️ - La casa de papel / Money Heist - Élite / Elite - Alta mar / High Seas - Las chicas del cable / Cable Girls - Vis a vis / Locked Up - El internado / The Black Lagoon boarding school - El barco / The ship - Gran hotel / Grand Hotel - El ministerio del tiempo / The Ministry of Time
One tip for learning Spanish, which I hope id have a few since I’ve been studying it for the last 3 years is conjugations are key, like Italian most of the personal pronouns are inferred by the conjugations of the verb, so knowing the infinitive and personal pronoun won’t really help when trying to communicate, for example normally instead of saying “yo soy” people will casually just say “soy” or instead of “nosotros tenemos” just “tenemos” is okay. It takes a little while to adjust to not saying the pronouns but you get used to it and it becomes second nature when you keep practicing. Anyways keep up with the spanish and as always keep working hard
Quick question, if you don't mind, and by some miracle, TH-cam sends you a notification: just like it would feel weird for English-speaking people to drop the pronouns, in my language we almost always attach an article to nouns, but from the books I've seen (I study on my own) in Spanish nouns don't have obligatory articles. Is it true or is it possible they just forgot to add the articles for a few of the words in my books? For example, is "Yo estoy en casa" incorrect? Shouldn't it be "Yo estoy en la casa"?
@@Adros2121 So it's a familiarity/property thing? Would you use that for other stuff too, for example when saying you read a book? If it's your book you drop the article?
breaking down your process makes it easier to understand the overall. Watching you figure it in real time makes it easier to understand the whole process of logically approaching the language. Thank you for this
hahah te imaginas? aprende a hablar con "tú" y salen los argentinos y uruguayos con el "vos", aprende "momento" y salen los venezolanos con "momentico" hahah pobre
Imagina tratar de aprender el dialecto chileno XD Gran parte del tiempo utilizamos palabras que solo existen en nuestro dialecto o que existen en otros dialectos, pero que en el nuestro cambia su significado xD
Here’s a tip that will help even more! Spanish is spoken as a national language in like 25 countries. Not only do a lot of them have different dialects in terms of casualness and formality, a lot of them have words that will translate way differently depending on where the person is from. For example, even looking at some of the most used words you have things that are radically different depending on the culture like concha, torta, amarillo, pendejo, gato/gata, ay bendito, coger etc. (A lot of them can be vulgar btw) Also even figuring out how to refer to people is hard. Different countries have different connotations for tú, usted, vos, or vosotros. There are also about 1000 tenses. Some more commonly used than others. So while practical studying is fantastic, television, conversations with natives and TH-cam are your best friends for learning how to speak on a proficiency level, like you did at the end of the week! Those are just suggestions though! It is a language that requires a lot of studying to perfect. ¡Buen trabajo y buena suerte, papi!
I picked up some Mexican Spanish and I thought that was it but when I heard the Cuban Spanish, I couldn’t understand a thing. Lol .. but I love to hear the Cuban accent (West side of Cuba).
MalluStyle MultiMedia funny you say that because I'm actually part Cuban. I grew up in a very mixed place so I use a lot of different slang terms, but the accent with which I say them is very Havanese.
@Awsamazing Eden .. whoa.. I was just thinking about the Cuban accent now and your message popped up .. anyways, I think there are two main accents in Cuba.. I’m able to understand my friend’s accent from Manzanillo (East Cuba) but I have hard time understanding the accent from Havana (West Cuba); I think it’s a real cool accent.
@@MalluStyleMultiMedia caribbean spanish (dominican, cuban, panamanian, puerto rican) is very difficult because while spanish is already the 2nd fastest language, caribbeans speak even faster spanish. lots of abbreviations of words and dropping of sounds, particularly "s". i prefer the caribbean spanish accents for sure, but now that i have the accent down, i mostly listen to mexican spanish (i dont love the mexican accent) because they speak most clearly or what they call "the most neutral". i hear colombian and argentian spanish are good for learning as well.
lime light Mexican is not the most neutral, that's a lie. Because... neutral exactly according to who? Mexican Spanish doesn't sound neutral to me at all. As for the Caribbean accents and Chilean accent, they all come from the Andalusian accent (the accent of the south of Spain). You should listen to it to understand the history of the variety of accents in Latin America. You'll notice the similarities between this European accent and those Latin American accents.
Wow, I love how dedicated you are! This video has inspired me so much! I've been meaning to start learning Spanish almost for a year now and never did. 2 hours on Spanish lesson on TH-cam and I know all the basics .I can make small talks now but hopefully I want to learn Spanish in depth and be a fluent speaker soon enough ( 6 months)
Realmente, me parece que el español es un poco más difícil que el inglés en el tema de los verbos, ya que el español cambia todo el verbo en vez de añadirle una palabra extra (por ejemplo, "I will go" es "yo iré") y además, el español tiene una conjugación diferente para cada persona, mientras que el inglés tiene menos (otro ejemplo, "I am/you, we, they are/he, she, it is" tiene 3 diferentes)
hey ikenna just brought your ebook and it was amazing to read.i have been learning Thai for around four years and i was loosing hope of ever speaking the language. your book has been a game changer it has made it so cool to learn it has given me the techniques to learn the right way without being bored . now i have the confidence to move onto another language and do it right.
Great way to challenge yourself! And the progress that you made is also great! Learning a language involves a lot of information to absorbe and that can be overwhelming in only 7 days. My approach is more "relax, have fun and enjoy the process no matter how long it takes". It usually takes about 3 years to get fluent, except if you're living in a Spanish speaking country and are forced to use the language everyday, in that case it will take only 1 year. So for those watching the video, don't give up after 7 days or even after 1 year, learning a language is a process that takes time, and how long it takes will depend on your own learning pace.
He got it from “frequency lists by Neri” which is a blog. That particular list wouldn’t open for me but he has a lot of other lists including most common sentences
I can tell confidence is a key point in your life by the way you were kinda quiet at first but when speaking Japanese you were talking loud and confident but then your not afraid to take shots at it
that what's REQUIRED at the beginning: * textbook / materials covering levels from A1 up to B2 (upper-intermediate). Materials must cover full grammar issues * readings, dialogs + audio & video content * a dictionary (let it be a mobile app) with conjugations and examples of words usage * conversations/dialogues in this language showing a usage in different contexts * If sb asked me about the best method I will always say it's Callan's (direct method)

Love this! Loved the idea of using mnemonics. When I learned Esperanto in a week, I just used Memrise for the 1000 most common words. I'll have to try that for my next language challenge!
İs memrise enough for common words?
Cool 👍👍
@@alexgeor8102 For Esperanto, yes. However, that's only because of how easy it is to convert nouns to verbs to adjectives to whatever type of word you need. For example, I learned the word "uzo" as "use". Because it ends in an -o, I know it's a noun. Then, I can change it to "uzas" to get "uses". For other languages, Memrise may not be enough. It is a great start and I highly recommend it! Hope this helped :)

THANK YOU!!!! do you have any documentaries or movie suggestions?

@@samevans1289 No, that how we say it when it's our own house.
Estoy en casa=I'm in (my own) home.
Estoy en la casa=I'm in the house (not mine).
@@Adros2121
So it's a familiarity/property thing?
Would you use that for other stuff too, for example when saying you read a book? If it's your book you drop the article?
breaking down your process makes it easier to understand the overall. Watching you figure it in real time makes it easier to understand the whole process of logically approaching the language. Thank you for this

andaluces: i'm about to end this mans whole career
(A lot of them can be vulgar btw)
Also even figuring out how to refer to people is hard.

Realmente, me parece que el español es un poco más difícil que el inglés en el tema de los verbos, ya que el español cambia todo el verbo en vez de añadirle una palabra extra (por ejemplo, "I will go" es "yo iré") y además, el español tiene una conjugación diferente para cada persona, mientras que el inglés tiene menos (otro ejemplo, "I am/you, we, they are/he, she, it is" tiene 3 diferentes)
wow I'm surprised i understood all of that except for añadirle

You are in a different class of people! So talented!
