@@fashiharz8584 it's a struggle. 90% of arabic dialect resources are in Egyptian. All i found is this online show called Kazdoura, these two lebanese in their 20s riding around trying and reviewing takeout food. that's about all i got ahah

The true reason why most gave up / faiIed learning a language is, because most hum’ns didn’t choose a pretty language like Dutch & Norwegian & Welsh etc with mostly pretty / poetic words that one would actually enjoy learning! There are about 38 to 50 pretty languages, while most languages are a non-pretty language - the pretty languages include all Germanic languages (which are also the prettiest and most refined languages ever) and all Celtic languages and most Latin languages (including Portuguese / Galician / French / Gallo / Catalan / Spanish / Italian / Esperanto / Occitan / Latin / Corsican and their dialects) and, Hungarian also seems pretty, from what I noticed! I am learning about 15 pretty language at the moment, and I usually prioritize Dutch & Norwegian & Welsh - I’ve learned more than 6.500 base words in Dutch and over 3.500 base words in Norwegian and also in Swedish in a few months!
The big terms fab and Santos (meaning Saints) etc only reflect me The Saint / The Leader / The Goddess / The Lady / The Queen / The Princess / The Star etc and the pure / Holy / absolute being etc, and such terms cannot be misused in names or yt names or comments etc, and must be changed / edited out - numbers also cannot be misused by hum’ns in yt names etc, and special names such as Adam only reflect my pure protectors aka the alphas, and cannot be misused by hum’ns, and all unsuitable names / terms etc must be changed and edited out, and words like end and tin and fun and be and over / ver etc only reflect me, and cannot be in yt names / names etc, and must be edited out!
100% agree with the don’t tell anyone tip 😂 I have told my mum and family I’m learning Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Italian, French and Chinese...... didn’t last a week 😂

I am native Polish speaker, and I learn English and german in school. But I don't want to learn german, but I may start so:
Polish was my first language,
English was my 2nd language,
Spanish will be my 3rd language,
Japanese will be my 4rd language, or 5th if I will finally accept that I need to learn german at School ;)

Easier said than done. You don’t need motivation for physical things like working out or brushing your teeth but for more mental things like learning, you need some sort of reward, incentive or motivation for it to be worth sacrificing time

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution but to just do it. If you have any free time, dedicate it towards language learning instead of scrolling through TikTok.

Pimsleur is simply too UNDERRATED!!! Pimsleur (which is free in most UK libraries) basically gives you essential elocution/pronounciation lessons from native speakers. I completed Pimsleur French I, II and III and i couldn't recommend it more. It taught me how to pronounce French syllables, words and phrases with great accuracy, natives would constantly be impressed at my accent considering the short time I've been leaning French (1 year 5 months). Can someone speak fluent French after completing Pimsleur alone? No. Yes, in the sense that you can fluently say phrases in French, however you will not be able to engage back and forth with natives beyond a superficial level, because the vocabulary in Pimsleur doesn't nearly cover the incredible amount of words or the tenses (past simple, continuous) you will NEED to know when conversing with native speakers, there's no getting around actual grammar and vocabulary study if you want to really speak a second language - Pimsleur is simply an aid, but an incredibly effective one at that.

Day 2- completely forgot about the language thing
4 weeks later- remembers about the language and the cycle continues

Yes that's not bad at all, considering how young he is. (I mean, he looks young doesn't he?).
People has got to stop being so negative about learning languages. Usually there are a few languages that are "accepted" which are usually the languages we learn in school such as English, French, German and Spanish (at least where I am from). If we tell people we are learning those languages it is okay and often even encouraging. Like how people even expect us to speak English. But when it comes to languages that are not one of the common ones we learn at school we are often criticized for wanting to learn them. We get questions such as "why do you want to learn that language, you'll never use it" and we all of a sudden get to hear more negative things and jokes about the culture and country of the language we want to learn. The thing the people saying this don't understand is that when people close to us say these things it discourages us to keep learning the language we want to. Because we care about other people's opinions about us, especially people close to us.
This might or might not be more common among the older generations, but I think as a new generation who is much more globalized and accepting we need to take this into consideration. It's never a waste to learn a language ♡♡♡

When I was leaning English"still learning" my friends use to come up to me and show me a random words that they thought were in English most the times wasn't , but if I couldn't translated it, they would start laughing and making fun of me, and after that I learned my lesson🤐 , and my English has improved a lot after since🙃

about not telling people I think that if it's people whom you share the same interests with, it's actually better to tell them, I have been a part of a challenge in twitter and it was really motivating bcuz a lot of people are participating and it's motivating me to keep going as I see others and people with the same interests always motivates you

I can definitely agree with the whole 'not telling people' thing. When I started my first language outside of the home, German, I tried to share it with everyone. One specific person I thought who would be a good resource was an Austrian girl who lived nearby, but it ended up being quite the opposite. When I shared I was starting to learn German, she looked at me and told me, "uh you shouldn't learn German, since you weren't raised there... you're nationally American,". It hurt me to hear this, and I ended up stopping German because of this- and have never truly regained the motivation to learn it.
So now when I start a language, I keep it to myself until I'm conversational or at this confident in it. I have found I am far more focused and disciplined because of this.
motivation is temporary you have to be driven and passionate, build a disciplined mindset and stay in your lane. don’t let people who doubt you get in your head.. unfortunately the haters are usually the loudest..

Just listen a lot, don’t overwhelm your self with learning grammar and vocabulary, just listen a lot at first.
I did Pimsleur French and I thought it was a very good program. I was going to try Rosetta Stone until I read that it's not that good and too expensive. I supplement with various online stuff. I'm not fluent, but I can make my way in a French conversation.

I can't even stay consistent with what language I wanna learn. One day I want to learn Irish and the next day it's Chinese then it becomes French and so on. God damn how do I just stick to one
I was very lucky. I had great success from the get-go. From a young age I started learning languages. My uncle married a woman from Mexico City when I was 10 years old and my uncle would interpret everything to her. He was a polyglot. I heard the language when they would visit and would learn phrases here and there. I also learned about Mexican culture. When my aunt would speak English, I'd hear her Spanish accent. When she'd say my name, she'd say it with a Spanish accent. Her relatives from Mexico would come and I would try to learn as much from them as I could. I didn't really speak the language, however. Later, I met a girl at school who was an American, but spoke fluent Spanish. She had had lots of Hispanic friends and boyfriends. She told me if I actually wanted to learn Spanish, I had to hang around lots of Spanish-speaking people, get audio courses from the library, listen to music, watch television, movies, soap operas, read books, use text books and learn grammar. So I took her advice and became obsessed. I created my own language learning environment and constantly rehearsed the language in preparation for speaking with native speakers. I tried to learn all of the patterns I could (grammar/constructs/verb tenses/conjugations) so that I could manipulate the language and say anything I wanted. Everything was in anticipation of speaking with natives. I also started meeting lots of Spanish-speaking people at the ESL classes (English as a Second Language). I started hanging around Spanish-speakers almost exclusively and determined I was going to be a Spanish-speaker and adopted a new identity (or rather an additional identity as it were). In school, I took three languages and ended up doing independent study because the classes were ridiculous. I tell my story on my TH-cam Channel. Check it out. I also learned several other languages in a similar way. I speak six languages and focus mostly on having the highest level of fluency in each language and endeavor to speak with an excellent accent. I'm a polyglot, but quantity is unimportant to me. I speak English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and American Sign Language. I'm a court interpreter (English-Spanish) and also teach both of those language. In addition, I have a website dedicated to language learning/interpreting. www.corynicolas.com

Very well put together video! All great advice, but one difference I’ve had is by telling as many people as possible that I’m learning a new language so I feel more accountable, sometimes it’s that little push to get my head back in the game
Everything you have said in this video is on point! 💯Especially the Discipline & Motivation part you talked about... I totally agree. Motivation is helpful to some extent, but being discipline is 100% effective.

I really recommend buying his book, I'm currently studying Italian and in a month following his FME method I did more than I did in a language school for the same time period. Ikenna I really can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge, I hope to stay consistent and master Italian so I can thank you in that language. KEEP ON BEING AWESOME

I already speak 5 languages (Chinese, Dutch, English, Spanish, French). I want to add Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Latin and Greek to the list (and maybe more but I can't think of any other languages anymore). In the first year of middle school I had German classes, turns out I suck at that so that's the only language I will definitely not learn.

@@ozymandias8523 I was born in the Netherlands so that's why I can speak Dutch, my mom is Chinese and she doesn't speak Dutch that well so I have to translate things for her and that's how I maintain my Chinese. When I was younger I played a lot of games on the Nintendo and I watched a lot of TV series which were in English so that's how I learned English. My (current) school teaches 3 different languages and I had 2 of them for 3 years (This year will ben my fourth year having Spanish). Apparently I have a thing for languages so it's really easy for me to learn new languages (except for German). One of my favorite methods is to watch series that are in a different language and turn captions on in that language. It's also important to practice a lot, it may be weird but sometimes I randomly start talking in a different language and some of my friends answer me in that language as well.
I'm not an expert, this is just how I pick up languages. At this moment I'm only 15 so there'll always be room for improvement.

I am actually so thankful to you because I watched one of your videos about pimselur and I couldn't get it, but I discovered an amazing similar tool that worked magic for me called Language Transfer I am using this to learn spanish and in one month I can build a lot of sentences that I didn't think that I can even say 😭
language transfer is a great program too, if they carry your language

@@sali9448 oh t'es français! j'apprends le français au lycée, je suis un cours de Français 4 maintenant à l'âge de 16 ans :) l'année prochaine, j'espère commencer avec Allemand 1 et ptete Espagnol 2 (j'étudie un peu espagnol à la maison)
