'Language Learning' is one of the most powerful skills to have in the 21st century with the access to information we have. I learned a lot from studying Italian and I believe I now have a plan to learn Spanish in just 30 days.
Although I NEARLY didn't make it to Catalonia, in part two of this episode, I show the uncut 10-minute conversation I have with Eloi at his home entirely in Spanish.
    P.S.
The channel is growing for the first time and it really is unbelievable. The Sirianni Method now has over half a million views and we crossed 20,000 subscribers. Welcome back to regular episodes... from State Of Mind.

    Tower Method
    1. What words do I use the most? Start with my most common 100, not the internet’s
    2. Build 3 towers - verbs, adjectives, articles
    3. Connect the towers - study phrases. Learning the words in context

Spanish is my 8th language (I'm also teaching myself Italian and Bahasa Indonesian). I find that spending 2-3 hours a day actually using the target language from the first day is very helpful. I am self-taught and had my first video call in Spanish after a month. I did the math and for 30 days it comes out to 10 hours of practice total and only 1.4% of your time over the 30 days. The spaced repetition and consistency is what gets me the most excited.

I've been taking a test every year called OBA (Olimpíada Brasileira de Astronomia or Brazilian Astronomy Olympics). I'm currently in 8th grade and I started taking this test in 6th grade. How it works it: kids from 6th to 9th grade take this test and they can get a medal (bronze, silver or gold) depending on their score. I got a golden medal in the past 2 years, hopefully going to get a golden this year too. But the thing is: if I take the test next year and get a golden, I'll be selected to take 2 tests for the internationals, none of them being in my native language. I already speak english fluently but the other test will be in spanish and your video gave me a LOT of motivation to start. If you've learned that much in a moth, imagine what I can learn in a year and a half! Thank you for doing this!

I genuinely believe these top 100 word posts online are mostly just made up, because they don't even match the actual frequency dictionaries of the language that have a scientific research method behind them. I just noted down the top 100 in Spanish straight from the frequency dictionary and most of those words are stuff like "the" "us" "to go" "a lot" and just words you believe are actually necessary for the language besides your own top words.

  • @CalBruin
    @CalBruin ปีที่แล้ว +1

QUESTION: How did you get in the practice of hearing just those specific words in conversation?
95% of all language programs force feed either a designed vocabulary list, set phrases, or(-includive) pre-set lines and conversations for practice e.g. Pimselur, Living Language, even the movies with clickable subtitles.
One of the most confidence boosting language learning method is Michel Thomas. Within 8 hours one can be ready for conversation. The big con with his method though is not enough experience with hearing the target langauge talked at the learner.
Memorization and practicing vocalizing (pronouncing) the target language various person to person. What defines fluency is understanding when spoken to.
So the phenomena most talk about when not knowing a language is how fast the speaking is especially with Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, . . . heck with almost any language.
The biggest hurdle is linking the audio sounds of a word stream to parse out the individual words.
Now audio learners might have a easier time than, say, visual learners but the hurdle remains.
