  • I filmed myself learning Spanish for 30 days. This month one of my four month transformation.
My brand new Merch: www.ikenna.com (limited supply) 👕
Pimsleur Free Trial Lesson I mentioned in video: rebrand.ly/pimsleur-free-trial
Remember I'm not a complete beginner to Spanish, so don't be discouraged if your progress isn't as fast. Like I mentioned I did study it in school and also did a 7 day challenge last year. This video is meant to show you all of my resources that I use so you can boost your progress. Without a few of the programs I used and 136 chapters of that tantalizing manga, Spanish would still be super unintuitive to me (and it still is to a degree, I mean REFLEXIVES?!?!)
This video is also meant to inspire those who've previously failed at learning languages to tackle them again and to do so while having fun and enjoying the process! I've failed at learning Spanish twice. There will be no third time. Even if i have a disability for the time being, it's my mission to learn it over the next four months. This is month one.

@@insidiositybut shouldn’t it be the duty of the school to motivate kids and keep their natural curiosity alive, if it’s so necessary for effective learning? I live in Germany so I don’t know how school is in your country... but in Germany most schools do nothing to motivate our kids. Most kids dislike school, not because they dislike learning and discovering new things (because nearly every kid loves those things, it’s just evolutionary built into kids brains), but because the methods in our schools are from the past century and just outdated and inefficient. But i agree schools can’t keep up with the motivation and drive ikenna has to learn languages because they have to cover many different fields, but they should orient themselves at examples like ikenna to improve their methods and system in general and not stay at the level they were 50-100 years ago because it kinda works

3 Months into french. How far in were you able to understand videos without subtitles as I feel like I'm making no progress? Does it all of a sudden just 'click'. I plan to do Ikenna's 6-month program (I bought his book) and continue on for a further 3 months, like you, to add extra fluency. How many hours of study did you do a day? If you can answer these questions it would be appreciated as I'm struggling on, but, I'm still going. Cheers.

I see you have great control of your learning methods and discipline. You know, that's more important than school classes = Understanding of how to keep learning. You brain has a limited capacity and the space is reserved for skills/ knowledge that you utilize in your day to day life. I took Spanish in school for 3 years and I learned nothing (I was able to maintain a conversation at the time, I just remember none of it now.). I don’t blame the school though. Theyd do things like Food Day where we would eat tacos and other Latin American foods. We would watch movies and TV shows and listen to music and write poems. We even had an annual field trip to the Spanish speaking part of my city (I used to live in Vegas). They were trying to make it more than just vocab and grammar memorization quizzes. I just never got into it.

I studied my whole life in a public school, and even when I had terrible language teachers their classes were always interesting to me. The problem is that the classes are crowded with students which does not creat a good environment for interaction. And most of the students do not care about what the teacher says. But if you are a student who are interested I promise you will learn. Language learning depends more on how much time you spend with the language, and those who do not learn while in school probably have contact with the language only when they are in class, once they go home they don't care about it. A good student knows that learning is attending classes and studying at home. Most people do only the first one, and later blame the school.

You're amazing!!! Thank you! I have never been able to learn Spanish. It seemed impossible for me to do. I can't wait to try these methods. I'm stoked!! Thanks again

based on my Spanish we usually say "oracione(s)" when referring to "sentence(s)" but that word can also mean 'prayer' so you just gotta learn when to use it.

hi sorry for being annoying but... As a language learner, sometimes we need support from people. And many times its hard to find this support in our family or friends. So I created a discord server for all language learners: discord.gg/8MN8Xz5uXA
I hope you will find it useful and we can all help each other ❤️ Thanks if anyone is joining

Honestly, the accent is pretty good compared to others who are learning it. With more practice, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to sound pretty fluent and the only thing that could prevent that is probably sentence structure and grammar. But, it's amazing how you can read it and comprehend it so quickly.

The accent is more of a cultural adaptation.

don't push yourself with the walking mate,
it's better to have one more month of being horrid and bedridden, than forcing yourself to be okay too early and possibly doing permanent damage to yourself
