I actually thought I had a best friend. We weren't as close as most best friends, but we talked a lot together and went to each others' houses when we were close to the others' neighborhood. Then I asked her who her best friend was and she said this other girl was her best friend, and everyone else was just a close-ish friend or an acquaintance. It was kind of sad.

My online friend is my best friend. It’s sad that we can’t get to meet eachother though. She’s always been by my side when I felt sad or when I needed to vent. She’s funny, she’s the only person that I feel confident with being myself, the weird kinda me. Cerene was someone I would lean on, open up and do all the crazy stuff with. I never had boundaries with her. She was the polar opposite of me and that's why I thought she was always cold and distant and a bit selfish...I told her everything. I had a friend who had showed her real face after years of torturing me and when I stood up for myself, no one was there with me. I used to tell her how sad I am or angry I am. It wasn't till the corona came and we were all locked up that she once told me that she would enjoy seeing the so-called drama. And the drama that she was talking about was the reason why I would cry every night. That day I decided to look back upon our 'perfect' friendship and I realized that I was the only one who was invested. What's worse is that I got to know about this on my birthday (which she didn't wish me for because she was busy)
It's been 6 months since that happened...She called me today to make me come to the school reunion and all those forgotten emotions came flooding back
