I wish you were this honest about Forza motorsport 8’s force feedback and wheel feeling I hold your channel very highly but that forza review had me skeptical Would have saved me 80€ Cheers
Do you think it's better than AC with track and car mods though? Given the number of additional DLCs this will need to get a complete grid I think it'll end up being quite an expensive game? (and the AC community are already doing the majority of these cars / latest track setup)
i got it but decided to refund. it really has potential i believe. liked the visuals, sounds, ffb and physics, but the supper laggy menu and random performance issues, plus wheel issues like steering angle not matching or randomly resetting my fanatec settings made it frustrating i really hope they manage to greatly improve tho as i feel the foundation is there (it is based off rfactor 2 in the end)
You do not have tire warmers. Tires are very cold at the beginning That's why for the first few laps you feel floaty. Sheesh people giving 'floaty' feel review after doing 2 laps. Seen this so many times
I found your thoughts on the physics pretty interesting because that’s how I feel about rFactor 2 which this game is based off of. While I feel like LMU has improved a bit, the cars still feel a bit floaty and it’s hard to tell and feel where the limit is. rF2’s meta is to run low-ish wing and an overall oversteery setup and basically drift every turn and sadly I think LMU follows suit. I do also hope they tighten up the feeling of the tyres eventually, but for some reason everyone says rF2 is “the most realistic” sim, so I don’t think it and LMU will change much anytime soon…
everyone loves to talk about how much better RF2 is to Iracing and how terrible the iracing tire model is but i have never really found rf2 to be more realistic in the slightest
@@collinclary5762 Apparently, rFactor 2 is the most complex and detailed simulator out there, it has a lot of systems and variables when it comes to the way it does physics. People love to call rF2 “the most realistic simulation” because of that, but to me it means nothing at all. Sure, it can simulate a lot of things but if it simulates them badly, or the model was fed with bad data, then it’s all for nothing. At the end of the day, all simulators are games. They all have problems and limitations so it’s a matter of picking what you like and find most pleasant to drive.
RFactor2 gets praise because its tyre structure behaves like that of rubber. It's TGM tool allows you create any tyre structure in a physical rendered model, fully deformable and fully dynamic. The vast majority of Sim racing games are all using static based tyres with torque curves and LUT's that will never be dynamic. You also have to know that sim racing will always be less communicative than a real car. Lest be real, 90% of Sim racers play these games on stationary chair with stationary wheel. That's way to less of a disadvantage to gauge realism.
@@kak8895I'm all for technology and high tech simulations, but cars are more than a deformable tyre. AC has a single raycast collision detection with pretty barebones tyre deformation, yet many agree that it is one of the, if not the, best tyre behaviors on the market. That's why I find the argument of rF2 being the most realistic sim, just because it simulates one out of the many parts of a car really well, pretty dumb. On top of that, it just seems to simulate the deformation part of the tyre really well. You can tell that the rest of the tyre isn't simulated too well because of how the cars need to be setup and driven in that game. As for the stationary sim rig thing, and how most sim racers won't truly experience the realism of being in a car, it's true but there is still tons and tons of real life data and reference material that games can use and try to replicate. Slip angle curves, suspension movement, driver inputs, car setups, and the list goes on forever. There's more to physics than what you can feel. If cars behave the wrong way it's not FFB, or a motion rig, that is going to make the game more realistic, like how AMS2 players love to say that FFB "fixes" the game. You can have really bad physics and really good FFB, and vice versa. To wrap up this long reply, simulation games love to talk about how complex or how in-depth their systems are and many of us see that as a game being more realistic. At the end of the day, they're all games developed by people, they're going to have flaws and inaccuracies.
@@nismo97 The race drivers who've played RFactor2 complement it as the closest to the real thing. Who do we believe? Them or a group of sim racing fanboys that have not touched anything short of a race kart not to talk of GT3. Infact, RFactorPRO (although more advanced than RFactor2) is used by race teams on their multiple PC hyper expensive Rigs compared to any racing game in the market. Truth is FFB in most games (Like AC/ACC) are way to exaggerated to what you'd get in real life. If they mitigated forces to what most race cars behave (power steering/ no power steering), most sim racers will hate the game. But good points though.
The question I have is does the sim racing world need this game? By that, I mean with AMS2 custom championships, AC mods etc., what does this sim offer that you cannot recreate with existing sims?
I cant get my CSL DD rotation to completely sync with the game. It starts off being wrong but does end at the right maximum. its like it catches up to itself. the first 90 degrees i have to turn so much and is out of sync with the game. dunno if its a bug but it doesnt seem right.
Is there any damage modeling? I saw more than a fee hits from the AI and it looked like there wasn't any. I know I won't get a response but there's hope lol

It is like what ACC was for AC but then without the graphical update. The AI problems with overtaking is exactly how the AI in RF2 handles that. I will give this game some more time in the oven

I wish you were this honest about Forza motorsport 8’s force feedback and wheel feeling
I hold your channel very highly but that forza review had me skeptical
Would have saved me 80€
Cheers
Do you think it's better than AC with track and car mods though? Given the number of additional DLCs this will need to get a complete grid I think it'll end up being quite an expensive game? (and the AC community are already doing the majority of these cars / latest track setup)
i got it but decided to refund. it really has potential i believe. liked the visuals, sounds, ffb and physics, but the supper laggy menu and random performance issues, plus wheel issues like steering angle not matching or randomly resetting my fanatec settings made it frustrating
i really hope they manage to greatly improve tho as i feel the foundation is there (it is based off rfactor 2 in the end)
Exactly. Thing things that should absolutely work don't right now. I was hyped for this for 4 months and I refunded after 50 minutes.
The game is on early access
Does it have a safety car?
For long races does it offer the chance to swap drivers?
I hope it does. I dont like to ride the entire 24h 😂
Steve have you tried the new Rfactor 2 online mode? Its very interesting and looks fun.
Amazing video!
You do not have tire warmers. Tires are very cold at the beginning That's why for the first few laps you feel floaty.
Sheesh people giving 'floaty' feel review after doing 2 laps. Seen this so many times
Felt the same after doing 20 lap stints.
Best physics and ffb on the market, same as RF2.
That sound is fuckin crazy
I cant get my CSL DD rotation to completely sync with the game. It starts off being wrong but does end at the right maximum. its like it catches up to itself. the first 90 degrees i have to turn so much and is out of sync with the game. dunno if its a bug but it doesnt seem right.
will you do gameplay videos of this game at all?
its built on Rfactor 2 right? how does the physics feel compared to RF2?
Is there any damage modeling? I saw more than a fee hits from the AI and it looked like there wasn't any.
I know I won't get a response but there's hope lol
Is it the same studio who made project cars?
S Alvarez, Bro
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Keybinds arb Front and rear are missing
How do you get you mclaren steering wheel working on PS5 ?
When are you going to try iracing?
I guess there isn't any actual damage to the car if you have to get hit or spin out and hit a barrier?
Of course there is damage
@@AndreiMuscala 👌
Helo super Gt I have a question about an issue I’m having for multiple times now any time I tried to start a race in the daily race The race never star there is never in my car start moving by itself can you shed some light in this issue? Not sure if you have the same problem. Thank you.
It is like what ACC was for AC but then without the graphical update.
The AI problems with overtaking is exactly how the AI in RF2 handles that. I will give this game some more time in the oven
You need to turn on aliasing to atleast MSAA 4x. Your image looks jagged.
