Jonathan Ward is my my favorite builder next to randy grubb. They both create such unique and inspiring builds. Every time I watch a video of Jonathan's I get off my ass and try to make another section of my car even better. Keep up the amazing works of art!!!!
@@brettlazor8219 Why fix the car up except for the paint? Paint protects the metal and a good paint job is just as important as the updated upholstery.
My point is this. Which car would you choose if there were two of them sitting there identical in every way except one had a beautiful new paint job and the other looked like it had sat out in a barn or field for 60 years and was Patina, patina, patina. You only get to pick one. And I bet the newly painted one would be worth thousands more than the burnished rusted one.
Brilliant as always, I promised myself not to make lots of money. Your product makes it hard, old school with just the rite tech and go! I’m a Jeweler that took a less glamorous life just to simplify my life in order to last longer and enjoy my wife. Your project make me drool and surge and run in circles! Great job for you and your team for such good work. Thank you for your videos. Love them.
Redundantly overjoyed to see your ‘highly functioning’ works of art. Thanks once more for doing what you do. Press on and never stop. These rides are just too cool.
There is always a percentage of viewers that are "Original buffs" that believe doing anything outside of factory even updating it to 12 volt is a no no! I figure that is the minor down arrow votes the guys that frown on modification. Too bad really because I've restored several 50s Chevy's and a IHC Harvester R110 to original condition and they are not drive worthy on today's roads. Some have no turn signals, just one brake light and it's barely visible. They have no license plate lights and no seat belts, nothing in the way of modern support for the head like modern seating has and so on. In short if you really want to drive and use the thing as a daily driver and actually keep up with traffic you are forced to at the least upgrade some things. I applaud the full upgrade though. If I weren't an old man I'd love to snag one of these fine trucks by ICON! Great job guys!
Patina, Patina, Patina!! Superb looking truck, even with the "faux" panels that are works of art in and of themselves. So what if they are done with paint? Perfectly fits the rest of the vehicle. Exceptional work as ever.
Normally despise anything Rat Rod, or the overdone patina deal, but this I love. Showcasing it, in the farm environment was an added bonus. Hats off to you and your crew, for a job well done. Hope the client appreciates all the attention to detail. JT
Johnathan you do a awesome awesome job explaining your work istarte in 1970 puutting power steering. Disc brakesin48. Thru 55. Idone 15 trucks i drove a53 GMC 20years iwish i still had one
DREAM TRUCK. Close to perfect. I now have a life goal. You did real good. Best wishes to you and your team and family. Please don't stop doing what you do. Peace.
Hi Jonathan. This is the one I love the most. Of all your amazing vehicles, this is the one. This is what I would want you and your magicians to appear for me. This is the one.
THIS is exactly what I would like to do to my 54 Thriftmaster. Next week when I become a millionaire I'll make it happen. Mr. Ward , your thriftmasters rock.
21.05.19 - Thanks for the Derelict man, love them and the off roaders I hate zero interest and then watched on and realized the builds are the same of the Derelicts for now I'm a fan of them to. Keep up the good builds and for thinking outside the square.
OMG I absolutely love it. Can't see why you would do any the regular way. The patina is spectacular. I'm actually building a watch now and you inspired me to do the face in rusted steel
Damn fine job! I've always felt your wheels and ride height were a dead give away to what was hiding underneath. This time it works. Love it; wish I could afford your products.
THANKS soooo much for yet another wonderful video showing your work on creating such a wonderful 'dereick! Great to see that you maintained such an amount of the original, yet upgraded this vehicle to current standards and convenience!!! Thanks again for sharing with us and I (and I'm sure otjhers...) look forward to more of your great videos!!! SAFE and enjoyable touring to your and yours!!!
I usually don't watch ANY GM product review....but.... Jon is such an interesting fellow and ICON such a fascinating company, that I'm learning to limit my bias. Still WON'T own any Brand-X since I'm a FORD guy, but love the ideas brought out by this crew. Another well-spent 15 minutes. Thanx Jonathan!
Awesome truck. If I would be nitpicking I would say not a big fan of the new knobs on dash and steering wheel console. Look a bit out of place. Love the leather and you nailed it on the wheels. You the man Jonathan. Maybe one day I'll have enough money to send my 63 c10 that has a lot of sentimental value.
i started shaking before I even watched this, seriously. Knowing your work this could be my favorite so far, but I too say that about everything you build. I"m scared to watch. I'll update. edit: after watching I think I'm in love. I want a Thriftmaster so bad. No idea where I'll get the money but these trucks are stunning. This is the king. Well done, beautiful work. By that I mean it doesn't look like there was any work done. awesome.
I love your work. The craftmanship and attention to detail is a work of art. What I love about your products is you can use them daily, so I'm curious to see how these vehicles hold up over long periods of time. How many miles a year do you think your customers drive? Have you ever reviewed a car that you or a customer have used for years. The way you build, im sure ALL your vehicles can last well over 100k miles.
Very cool truck! I also like the idea of it beeing a functional art, and trying to achieve both things. Would love to see even more of the build process and the struggles with it. And I want to add that it not beeing another LS-preformance speed monster, but a "workers truck" is cool!
Another fine job. The truck came out beautiful. The only thing I'd change if I were the customer, I'd put an original Napco 4x4 conversion on it. And maybe an old school Pontiac motor in it. GMC used Pontiac V8s.
Two things. 1-love hearing about the clients and how they’ll use it. Happy to know this one is gonna be used! 2-would you ever do an FJ60 Reformer? I love the restorations y’all do with TLC, but I’d be interested to see what your ICON brand would do with one.
Finely detailed craftsmanship on the old Chevrolet/GMC pickups. One thing I would like to see is that the cargo box walls come up to the level of the cab window sills. It's always seemed odd to me that the dominant design emphasis is on the cab when it's supposed to be a working cargo carrier, a utilitarian truck, and raising the box walls to me would seem more, I don't know, balanced? appropriate? Of course I've never seen such a configuration. Just a thought.
That's pretty sweet, I know the Art Deco era is less featured in the body, but they're classic and I ended up with a '46...would love to see what you'd do with the older style body...
I love your diversity and forward-thinking not to mention that you are attracting a cooler crowd with the occasional burn out great stuff I think this is going to work for you I bet your kids even think you starting to be cool now
Great truck! I think there is nothing wrong with some faux patina. As long as it's upfront and acknowledged, there's nothing inherently bad about blending natural patina with faux patina where needed to truly get the overall look you and your client desire.
This might be the coolest truck yet. Also, I am almost certain that I saw one of you creations here in Cincinnati over the week. There was a telling lizard sprawled across the trunk on a very 1940s looking 4-door sedan, possibly a Bukck or Olds. Totally neato.
Dude, I love your shades! Where did you score those? I love what you do with the vehicles. What's old is new! I have my grandfather's 1966 F250 (Camper Special) minus the camper. I grew up with this truck, going fishing and camping (granddaddy had a HUGE camper on it most of my childhood). My dad got the truck in 1985 and he gave it to me in 2016. My truck is mostly original and very solid. 123,000 miles with the original engine and manual 3 speed transmission. Anyway, I love old cars and trucks and I truly appreciate the work you do. You are a true artist with vehicles.
Now we're talking. A real mans Jewel of a truck.

Another great ICON project of art. New and old never fit together better.
Out of the videos, I think this gem is my favorite. Absolutely my favorite. Good Lord it's stunningly beautiful
You have built my dream truck.
Talk about thinking of every last thing.... Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing
Everything but a nice paint job.
@@ModernNeandertal the patina looks great I think. Classic Icon build

Craig Alberhasky ...nope patina bringing big money

ICON. Dream trucks dream cars. I’m dreaming up one right now!!
Great truck and enjoyable video. It's nice to see shoulder belts in a restomod.
Wow, just wow!
Love the truck and love your presentation.

I love when someone uses the word Funk when doing a restore . You know it's going to be good.
Knocked another one completely out of the park. If only I had the money for something like this... so awesome.

Good old mass production is to thank for these great examples!
LOVE IT.. Another Home Run.. Love the patina and the stance...

Another fantastic creation lads !! Absolutely love it and the insane attention paid to everything.
I love my gmc and I love that one. The front grille is like a huge smile which is how I would look if I owned it. Great job!!!
Beautiful truck, I still love your Ford 60s era trucks!!
Nice job, 1 thing where relocate the gas tank, this trucks come in the cab, lovely passion trucks👏👏👏
Love the stance, those wheels, oh my goodness. Work of art indeed.
My GOD! I remember when I used to worship supercars...now I worship Derelicts!
This is the specific truck I want.
If it comes in patina red even better!
Bedrock ICON build. So happy to see a long bed step side make the team. Perfectly balanced.
Ugh! Love your work. I’d love to have a lifted 4x4 70’s van made by ICON.
What a beautiful creation
Another Beautiful Build!
He clearly knows this design is a complete win. Good job Jon
I’ve already fanboi’d over it on IG but good looooooooord is that truck AWESOME in motion.

Perfect, pure art and a reliable usable ride. Love the fact that unless you know, you would never know. 😎👍🏻
In my personal opinion this is one of the best trucks
Your company has built I love the look of it with the

Dear Baby Jesus, let me wake up to find this in my driveway, amen!
awesome.... literally laughed out loud...
gym shoe, where is the profanity?
amen!
Dear Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Baby Jesus... don't even know a word yet.
The profanity is more specifically blasphemy (using your creator's name in vain) which is actually worse.
I don’t mind voice overs. To see more of the truck
Nice work 👏 awesome build
Sweet ride. Love it.
Masterpiece!👏🏼 (The plan: Win the Lotto💰 1st stop Icon! 2nd stop Singer!
I agree. But my second stop would be Superformance for a 63 Grand Sport Corvette.

Ls3 .. I wonder if they used the optional hot cam in this .. great job on this
