The Super Mario Galaxy ending i think is what really hits me right in the heart. I remember loving to walk around the many maps trying to find and meet all of the lumas. Only to watch them all die right before my eyes and not having the power to save them... I still get emotional when i replay the game every now and then, even though i know it’s coming.

The most emotional part of any Mario game, not even joking, was when the servers for Mario Kart Wii were shut down. The thing is, the final race was between a Yoshi on a bike, and a Toadette in a *kart.* And it was on Luigi Circuit. No Funkies, and the most standard stage. Just like the beginning of the game's life...

I didn’t realize that the Luma’s were sacrificing themselves. I always thought that they were supposed to go into the black hole as part of their life cycle for becoming stars and that it was time for them to go and that the cries they made were cheers because they got to finally become stars

When the Luma's died I cried
I actually teared up a little bit at the end of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, when Bowser was given that cake. It makes you think that Mario and Co. aren't just shells of characters. They have true personalities and morals. While it may not be obvious at times, it's there.
But Dream Team made Mario change his mind about Bowser. And in that game, Mario wanted Bowser *dead.*

Lubvi's realization and transformation and Luigi being held down and being hypnotized to lose his will and become a shadowy villain of his normal self were the most heartbreaking moments for me. Maybe bias on that second one, because Luigi is my favorite Mario character.

Since I was always used to Bowser being a bad guy, Paper Mario gave me a new experience. So when he stayed back to help one of the allies of Count Bleck, I got emotional, ESPECIALLY when I thought he got crushed

Super Paper Mario is one of my most powerfully nostalgic game ever.
Same, even though I only got to the "Over there" section of the game, and abandoned it. But my REAL most powerfully nostalgic and charming game is Mario and Luigi: Bowser's inside story.

Fictional stuff doesn't really make me cry. But I do get teary eyed and/or feel a sad feeling in my chest.
The Luma part made me cry all the time. And when i read the book in Rosalina's libary i all ways makes me cry :(

The mario game's ending which made me cry was the ending of Mario and Luigi partners in time! The end when we say the hands of Luigi Mario and Peach waving to baby mario, baby luigi and baby peach is sooo cute it made me cry a lot!

I thought that Rosalina reading about how her mother died in Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the saddest moment for me.
Super Paper Mario was my favourite wii game growing up, the final scene still pulls at my heart strings!
i have been a mario fan for years and my personal favorite is mario galaxy 2 and when i first played the first one at the end i cried so much tears came out of my nose

I have my own top five that were not on this list:
1. Saving Princess Toadstool for the first time in Super Mario Bros.
2. Super Mario Bros. 2 turning out to be all a dream. Mario and company had awesome times kicking the asses of Wart and his forces together, but those missions never happened and only Mario will remember them.
3. The credits sequence in Mario Kart 64. There is *something* about the music and the panoramic views of the tracks that makes the tear ducts flow...
4. The storybook segments in Super Mario Galaxy. The art style and background music is heart rending to start with, but it gets worse when Rosalina admits to herself that her mom is sleeping under the tree in the hill.
5. Mario falling out the window after being defeated by Bowser in Paper Mario.
Honorable Mention: Although not in the final game, Super Mario 64 had unused animations for Mario crying.

Paper Mario for the Wii was THE HARDEST MARIO GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. Also super Mario galaxy is my favorite Mario game in my opinion,and the second one is ok. Also at the end of super Mario galaxy with the lumas that part actually made me cry a little when I first watched it. That game also introduced Rosalina which is my favorite Mario character

Another ending that I found really heart-wrenching was the ending of Paper Mario: Color Splash.
Super Mario Galaxy is one of my favourites.. It's soo emotional, the scene with the lumas sacrificing themselves, the storybook make me cry every single time.. It has also a great storyline. I am truly convinced Nintendo made a good job with this.
My most emotional part is whenever rosalina shows up because her mother is dead, her father and brother are missing, and all she had for a family were the Lunas and they died so rosalina has to wait who knows how long without a family. So whenever I see rose I start to cry because I remember all of the bad things in her life
I bet that when rosalina saw her lumas again, she went to them very quickly, hugged them, and kissed them while crying with happiness
My god, I loved Super Paper Mario. It is such a dark game and had some incredible moments like world 6.
I'm surprised the Luigi subconscious scene from Dream Team isn't on this list. That has to be one of they most heartwarming scene in a Mario game for me. Literally all Luigi thinks about is the well being of his brother, and would do anything to make sure he's happy and safe.
Luigi is the best brother anyone could have.
Super Paper Mario had a fair share of sad moments;
The destruction of Sammer's Kingdom,
Luvbi's "death",
Timpani and Blumeire (As listed),
and so fourth..
You should've used the Luigi moment in M&L: Dream Team where you go inside Luigi's subconscious and see all his thoughts, as Mario goes deeper, Luigi begins to call out to him and telling him to not go without and appears before Mario where they share a heartfelt hug and ready themselves to Bowser... P.S. you should do a top Mario & Luigi RPG game moments... please.

The song that plays as Tippi and Bleck are at the alter is a mix of the song that plays during the flashback textboxes that show up after each world and count Blecks theme, slowed down and made more calm compared to the normal version, making things even more emotional. Its beuitiful

Da Nintendude id say kersti and Huey's sacrifice shouldn't make it...well at least not kersti...literally she's like okay bye and then "dies" but comes back seconds later no emotion at all and the final boss argh so awful like the game itself...then there's Huey's which we all saw coming as Colour splash was a cheap sticker star copy and many didn't like it...we all knew he was gonna pull the same "kersti sacrifice" with a lame bowser fight and then comes back after...both are cheap Blumiere and Tippi knockoffs😂 and SPM actual had amazing music especially the sad songs!

Super Paper Mario
Super Paper Mario is so deep and emotional. I couldn't believe it was a Mario game the first time I played it with my brother. It made us both cry at least a few times. I was so deeply invested in the story of Blumiere and Timpani, even before I realised it was Tippi and Bleck. And that one girl from the Over There, who was actually a Pure Heart, and her parents always knew that one day they would have to say goodbye to her, but they had grown to love her as a real daughter. She ran away after fighting with her parents, and then when they are finally reunited, she has to give up her life to save all worlds. That really was sad to me.
The final few moments of beating the Darker Side in Super Mario Odyssey really got me.
I cried at least 5 times thru playing Mario Galaxy. It's actually sad😗😣😆

Another very touching moment was in Mario Party 4, where you beat Bowser and he gives you a present and congratulates you, then Koopa Kid says that Bowser wasn't planning on doing anything bad after all, and then proceeded to say "Maybe Lord Bowser is a good guy after all."
I haven't watched yet but I'm betting super paper Mario is gonna be in it

Anyway, I think you might've listed all the emotional moments I've experienced in the Mario games. Oh! Wait, except the epilogue of Super Mario Galaxy 2, when the white Luma is back home for storytime. That got me weeping, too.
