- The Real Russian Market in Phnom Penh || Cambodia.
Revealing the REAL RUSSIAN MARKET in Phnom Penh, Cambodia today, as I strolled through the various sections of the market, the side streets, and cafes and bars nearby.
The Real Russian Market in Phnom Penh Cambodia is NOT a predominantly tourist area - that was said in a YT video by an American blogger/tourist in one of his videos yesterday. The Russian Market serves largely to the local Cambodian people for food, housing supplies, and clothing.
There are some tourist sections with antiques etc, which is the case in every market in Cambodia or anywhere else. One thing is for sure, the Russian Market area is a great place to hang out and grab some awesome food, work, and relax.
I highly recommend the cafes and restaurants on the side streets, over the street vendors, for hygiene reasons and not to catch a belly bug!

There is a Western style grocery store near the Russian Market? Thanks
Yes there are 2. The better one is Angkor Market and the other is Lucky Market. Also a mini mart called Smile. There’s also a fantastic German butcher called Dan Meat. Can’t beat that butcher for fresh meats. And get all the fresh seafood you want and veggies at the local market.
Is there any nightlife in the Russian Market?
Many excellent restaurants and several late night bars. No clubs through. But the clubs suck in PP anyway as they are expensive, mostly by the riverside and are usually girlie bar type places
Do you wash your vegetables in clean purified water?
I’m a carnivore and eat 95% meat hardly any vegetables. Just onions, garlic, hot peppers and sometime some broccoli. Wash in normal water. You cook off any bacteria anyway
