    Lime Jello Salad
Y'all this is one recipe that has become a tradition with our family. I of course as you'll hear mom say, always called it Green Moldy Salad. So this is literally a name that has stuck in our home. We always had this throughout the holidays, especially at Easter and a few times during the year for special occasions as well. It is a throwback to the 70's and all the jello salads that were so popular. Let me know what you think about her version and y'all enjoy.

I use cottage cheese. Crushed drained pineapple and chopped pecans. Delicious. Oh a splash of lime juice. Prepare lime Jello don't let it set up completely add cottage cheese pine apple and chopped pecans. Pour into a bowl stir well to blend and place in refrigerator to completely set up. Wonderful

This is how I make it as well - one thing, we put the cottage cheese through a strainer first (push through with a fork) to make it smoother.

My mom made this but she didn't use the marshmallows. She used extra cream cheese, and cool whip. She added chopped pecans in and sometimes maraschino cherries. My grandma found the recipe in an old magazine back in the mid 1930s and it was called Washington Dessert back then because the recipe notes said it was good enough to be served in the white house. We still make it frequently and sometimes use cherry, or orange jello. It's a winner and you just can't go wrong with it. Loved your video🥰

My Mother made a similar thing she called it congealed salad but she used 1pk of lime jello, 1pk of lemon jello, 1 cup mayo(I add little extra), 1 small can of condensed milk, 1 can of crushed pineapple and crushed black walnuts. Now she would always triple everything because at holidays there was alot of people. And I to this day still have to have it at holidays t 60 years old and don't have no one but myself.

I have made this lime salad for years but in an easier method. Mix one package lime jello into a carton of cottage cheese, mixing well. Add a can of crushed , drained pineapple and a can of mandarin oranges. Mix gently. Added chopped pecans and finally add a tub of cool whip. Mix thoroughly. I have also used orange jello and we liked it, too.
