This worked a treat for me.. jeep was slow to respond to throttle and was surging when under load between 1500 & 2000 rpm. Cleaned the maf and map sensors like you said and hey presto.. all issues resolved. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work
İ have been intrested in LR3 for maybe 7 years, for 4years i have own one 05HSE TDV6 and watched thousands of videos many times serviced my car every 12 months or 7-8k km's BUT first time saw this second air mass flow sensor which on motor! Thank you! İ cannot wait to check mine and cleanup!
Let me no how it goes and if you feel a difference afterwards mate I can imagine yours being pritty dirty if it hasn't been done , keen to hear your findings 🤙
@@OUTBACKDiscovery A bit like yours in the video. I gave it a good spray. Heading from Cork, Ireland to the UK on a road trip tomorrow so it will be interesting to see any performance improvements.
Great trip. Did over 1000 miles. Drove from Cork→Wales→Cornwall→London→Wales→Cork. Great pick up when taking off. Very good fuel efficiency. Thanks again.
@@noelwhittle7922 if there anything like my hilux was ill be taking them somewhere to get them properly done took me hours to clean my hilux intake haha
Great vid thanks, came across this so thought I’d have a look at mine today ‘07 D3, 130k miles..the oily filthy gunk in it was unbelievable. My dash reading mpg has shot up. Thanks great tip
Hey Don I honestly don't no anyone with the V8 petrol I'd love to own one myself eventually , will try do some research though if it was a video would probly be more info and photos that I could find for you rather then me actually showing u in the engine bay Would that still be of interest to you or not really ?
I also missed a sensor in this video that should be done Rick, the boost air temperature it sits in between the map and the map sensor , facing towards the fire wall push in and turn counter clockwise that's another one worth cleaning
Thanks for the advice you are great !! My sensor was extremely dirty with oil & particles like tar. I noticed that there was a quite improvement in performance after cleaning. But instead of that, main improvement was the exhaust smell and smoke. My 2.7 tdv6 was exhausting intensive smoke on high torque, I think it was because of rich diesel mixture due to dirt. Now it seems to be less smelling and there is no smoke issue, would that be possible :)?
Morning that's great news, I'd say its possible to help settle down smoke at low rpm as it's more responsive through the ecu as it can it's getting proper readings letting you hit boost quicker
There is a little locking tab that needs to be lifted up slightly and then if your looking at it from the driver's seat you need to turn it counter clockwise
@@OUTBACKDiscovery 10 x worse than yours the back one was built up so much when i pulled it out it was same size as the hole it came from, i only have a photo of it no vid. 08 disco 3 hse 138000miles.
@@OUTBACKDiscovery even a perfectly running suv gets like what 20 mpg on a good day, a standard sedan 4 cylinder will easily do 45 50 easy, what's your point
@kipkipper-lg9vl my point is its a basic maintenance routine that should be done on any vehicle that helps any car with a map sensor perform better helps with a quicker response and helps your engine run more efficiently Clearly you didn't understand the point of this video

Great Thanks. Gear box flush is also recommended for fuel economy. Drove mine to the garage with average of 21mpg - drove out at 32mpg!

Great news Jonathan I do mine every oil change now so it's easier to clean
Thanks for the clip, I did it but after I have big values of consumption on the car display 🤷♂️
Interesting most just notice a down low torque / power improvement with some times a improvement in fuel economy
I'm thinking it's just a reading fault, after cleaning sensors and change all the filters. Can I reset it some how?
I have the 4.4v8...would appreciate Tim on the engine end sensor location...!

I cleaned my 2008 Disco 3 v6 MAP , fuel went from 9.4 lph to 7.9 lph.
How do you remove the air temp sensor to clean it, I'm a bit worried if I turn it, it will snap. No dealer near me.

I don't think the v6 has the map sensor only the maf apparently

If fuel economy is what your concerned about driving an SUV probably isn't a idea
@kipkipper-lg9vl if your not concerned about making your engine run efficiently and maintaining it correctly you shouldn't own any car 🍻
