hey, I have a job interview for river island. Im 20 but i have never had an interview before. Im really worried that im going to freeze when they ask me a question. Iv been studying the store online incase they ask me if i know anything about the company. but as to questions why they should employ me i have no idea. im really not good with words. especilly on the spot. i was wondering if you would have any advise for me?
Im 17 and have a interview at top man.. I know I just commented on the other vid, but I have another question I'm thinking of wearing a black fall trooper jacket with a cream knit sweater under that a light denim button down(the stores), with dark blue jeans and beeswax clarks. Is it too much? I had 2 interviews already hope 3rd times the charm though since I watched your videos.

Everyone is shy at one point or another, don't worry- put yourself out there. It's all part of growing up :). The best suggestion I can give you is to research the places you are going to apply to because sometimes they can interview you right there on the spot. The more knowledgable you are about the store, the more confident you will feel. Again, if you're going to apply to a fashionable store, go in there with lots of style and personality. If the place is a bit more business like, then dress appropriately. Makeup sound me simple but pretty. I say never do too much if it's not part of "the look". Thanks for watching and Good luck!

Monique Isabella i was applying for an after school program for kids. i used to stay after school in my high school after school program and i asked the supervisor of the after school program and a school police officer that i knew at my school. Dont use people like your high school friends. you can use a close teacher because they can "sell" you very nicely. a friend will say your cool and nice but a teacher will say that you dont give up etc. it doesnt have to be a teacher but someone that has a position.

Hey there! Thanks heaps for the video, just wondering how much makeup I should wear to say a streetwear kind of store. Sorry I'm from Aus so I have no idea what the equivalent is hahaha (Maybe Urban Outfitters/American Apparel?). Especially when I have a pretty grungy outfit, I'd love to rock a darkish lip with it. Is that too much or should I just stick to simple? Thanks!
Hi, I was wondering if retail stores (specifically American Eagle) look to hire in January. I would've liked to apply earlier while stores are looking for seasonal employees but I'm unable to work during the holidays this year. So, is January a good time to apply? Or are retail stores usually not looking for new employees at this time? Thank you, these videos were very helpful :)
You are so amazing! I have an interview tomorrow for belk and I just turned 18. Therefore, no experience and stressed out right now; but watching the two videos of interviews calmed me down. Thank you for making this! I'm definitely going to be comfortable and true to the questions as i can be. I have one question though. Can my answer be if they ask, why do you want to work here? May i say "I'm trying to learn and do better for myself by standing on my own two feet in this world now." Or "Im trying to help my family out and not let them stress much about what I'm going to do with my life"

Always try going early during the beginning of the week. It's the worst thing ever when someone comes in at 4 o'clock on a busy Saturday afternoon. If you want a chance to speak to a manager one on one it'll be best to go early like on a Monday or Tuesday.
