MaterialX Chess Set ← Houdini ← Socratica

On the MaterialX website, there is a beautifully rendered chess set. In this video, we show you how to download the geometry and MaterialX assets from GitHub so you can recreate this chess set. This is a great exercise in using Solaris, USD, and MaterialX in Houdini.

How edit these materials?

In Solaris there are two nodes/LOPs called "Edit Material" and "Edit Material Properties". If you use this inside Houdini, you can modify the materials. Alternatively, you can look for the MTLX files that you download from Github and you can edit those on your computer, if you wish.
