Thank you so much for uploading this video. I have a 2009 GMC Canyon, bought an upgraded stereo, and had no idea where to start taking off the dash. Again, thanks for the upload!
Awesome! I have a 2008 Isuzu i290 and the dash is exactly alike because they got the body from gmc and Chevrolet. This video saved me so much trouble thanks a bunch!
When you unclip the bezel, no need to unclip the 2 harnesses, just swing the bezel up and tie to the mirror up out of the way and get to the radio. Those connectors can cause trouble when they get old, just leave them alone.
It can be the antenna wire is too short to allow the stereo to be removed, or one of the connectors is caught in the dash... Either apply more pressure to removing the stereo or attempt more disassembly around the stereo, dash or glove box to get access to the back of the stereo.
I learned a whole bunch. I wonder what you can do if the only thing wrong is that the clock/radio light intermittently goes off and then back on? I know I can get it off now just don't know how to replace the bulb!
Wow, i need a blue dash wedge tool like u had..butter knifes can scratch the material. I have a 2009 gmc canyon and this video will help me with my double din install. Thx.
I'm replacing my factory stereo with a new one but I'm not using an adapter and chose to just splice in wires. I have a 2012 gmc canyon, I'm trying to find a wireing diagram to help with this. The only problem that I'm having is that i cannot find my acc out of the truck
I have the same same steroid but I have a ESC button on the top just below the four ways, his there a wire there as well and does that need to be reprogrammed just like my factory vin stereo? My display lights are out but only half the ones facing the passenger side but stereo, but everything works fine on my stereo I had issues with display lights on my power windows switch and lock ,but they came back on so there a lose connection somewhere ,I did a full bcm scan and no errors codes came back thank god, does anyone else have this issue and fixed it with going to the dealer ? If so could you please post a comment or video for me so I can fixed this without getting screwed over by gmc dealer?
I have a 2011 GMC Canyon (work truck). Any other years GMC/Chevy have the same style base radio??? I have a small Pioneer CD player and the text is too small to read. I'd just like a fact radio.

This is an aftermarket item, we repair factory car stereo only. Try a local installation shop for the wire harness.
