If the aftermarket radio has a yellow wire and the wires coming from the radio in the truck does not have a yellow wire what color wire do I hook my yellow one up to
I would like to have an answer I ain't been able to get one for I don't know how long that will somebody please tell me what color wire the other one hooked up to
I don’t remember off hand anymore, it’s been a while since I did the radio. But a quick google search told me that the yellow wire it a 12v battery wire. If you are using an adapter harness with the module, then should be another yellow wire to hook up too. The factory radio has a constant power and the radio is tuned on using a can bus trigger. You need a Metra WM-GM11-SWC GM 00-13 Data Interface
I just bought a 2011 GMC canyon and it's got the same bezel like you same radio and all that it's the MP3 One I was wondering can you send me a link or something to get that wiring harness and that box for the chimes and because I have OnStar
I didn’t have onstar, so I didn’t look into that. But I found is on crutchfield, not sure if it will work, but worth taking a look at it. www.crutchfield.com/p_541RP5GM11/PAC-RP5-GM11-Wiring-Interface.html?tp=3486
Can u help me a get the harness and connect all the wire according on the colors but i dont get any power, and i connect the old radio get power, what did i do wrong??
Yes, just follow the instructions that come with the kit. Its pretty straight forward color for color. If the module is already hooked up try unplugging and plugging with key off.
OEM radio's must be reprogrammed to the "new" vehicle, if sold to someone else.Just reinstall in the old truck anytime and it's good to go. Newer scan tools will also reprogram the radio.
I’d do a search on Amazon or crutchfield. I had a base model 2005 and got mine from Walmart. Plus, that was over a year ago so I don’t remember brand or model number.
There should be a blue wire labeled remoter turn on. That wire gets ran to the amplifier, it’s responsible for turning the amp on and off with the radio. Also, other things you’ll need is RCA wire and power and ground to the amp
Not sure on that one. There maybe another bypass need. Also, my factory radio did have a security light on the radio. However, that was not for the vehicle just protection from the radio from being stolen.
I put a pioneer radio in my 2006 Colorado last summer,it plays well except when its below 45 degrees, then it wont come on,would you have any idea whats wrong with it?
I had the same problem, the connection with my GM interface module wasn’t all the way in. Disconnect and reconnect the module if your using one. If your not using one then double check all your connections. If nothing is found too be wrong then it could be a bad solder joint inside the radio or a issue with the truck.
Metra WM-GM11-SWC GM 00-13,

Very Impressive! Thank you for sharing! Do you have a link to the Module?

That I’m not sure, without the diagram in front of me.

do i need all of the extra wires? for the antenna, harness and all of that. I’m just using the aux and bluetooth…
No, unless you need them for power antenna or steering wheel control. If your not using them just cap them off.
Can u help me a get the harness and connect all the wire according on the colors but i dont get any power, and i connect the old radio get power, what did i do wrong??

This module gives you the power you need, or you can run a switch 12v to the radio
Thanks for the video… could you tell me where you got the green module?
I believe I got it from Walmart and no problem. I’m glad the video was helpful
I have that same problem with my cd player not turning off so that green module hooks up with all the other wires

Will a dual electronic XDCPA10BT “7” touch screen digital media double din car stereo receiver work on a Chevy Colorado 2005 work ???
I never tried it, but I don’t see why not. In essence the factory radio is about the size of a double din.

Awesome, good to know. Thanks for the info
could you tell me everything I would need for me to do this to my truck as well, thank you
Radio harness, your gm interface of choice, antenna adapter, and a dash kit. I got everything I needed from Walmart.
what dash kit did you get. none of the ones at walmart got a 06 colorado?
I’d do a search on Amazon or crutchfield. I had a base model 2005 and got mine from Walmart. Plus, that was over a year ago so I don’t remember brand or model number.
@@redneckboysgarage5772 found it on both thank you!
Awesome! I’m glad to hear that. Best of luck with your radio install😉
So how do I hook up the amp harness to if I want to add an amp the the system…

@@redneckboysgarage5772 thank you boss, So if I have anymore questions I’ll let you know thank a lot…
No problem, I’ll help the best I can
Thank you sr…
Mine has a security system in the factory radio how do i bypass that or do i have to take it somewhere

Where did you get the kit
I got everything from Walmart
What’s the name of the harness
I believe it’s a metra part
I have a 2011 colorado and EVERYTIME I plug my Sony into it it blows my radio fuss
Something is short to ground.
