  • This is an update on the illegal mining claims and miners restricting the public's access to their federally passed and designated recreation area on the Stanislaus river near Columbia CA.
    The USFS, BLM, CA EPA, CA DFW, CAWB and Tuolumne County Sheriff are doing nothing about it and we are requesting you reach out to any and all media and have them contact us so we may get this area returned to the public.

    Have you sent this video to the local news agencies or posted this on their social media sites yet?

    Hey but if you dredge they suddenly care, and show up in numbers like you are a criminal.

    Thanks for your efforts in getting this area cleaned up. Was there in April and did not notice but went in October and saw all the trash, U-Haul and non functioning boat. It’s only going to get worse till Forest Service does their job. Media pressure could work. 👍🤙

    The same as the rest of our government.... they do as they want NOT what we the people pay them to do. It's time to refresh our outlook on government, and vote people in to office that reflect OUR wishes not some agenda.

    We had claim jumpers on our s. Yuba claim I contacted every agency you just mentioned including Nevada county sheriffs because a friend was shot at. Nobody would return a call. Regardless we carry multiple sidearms now and a shotgun. It’s sad when you have to take matters into your own hands. And courts turn a blind eye.

    I had these tweekers pull a machete on me for swimming in a hole near them. I pulled my 9mm. I had a conversation with the guy with the fact that the claim isn't valid. I'm an LDMA member and have mined this area for 25 years. It's insane they will do nothing about them. Thanks shannon for your efforts and I'm glad you guys picked up canyon chaos and 6ft under. I will be re joining the club in the near future.

    Let's set up a dredge, then all the government bodies with jurisdiction will be there in a heart beat.

    Is it the same as Oregon ? Camping allowed for 14days after that move on or fines or impounding & jail...
    You have proven the 14 days, can a group be deputized or empowered to bring them in for processing & holding, while cleaning & removal is being done (that way cost is evaluated for misdemeanor or felony charges)... & if they return it could be felony trespass ?

    • @fourtwozero
      @fourtwozero 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. If the crime was a felony in the state of California you could possibly do something but that would be pretty messy and there is no saying the county sheriff would accept it. And if he didn't accept it you open yourself up to a can of worms.

    • @americanminingrightsassoci156
      @americanminingrightsassoci156  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 14 day camping rule is for the general public camping on public lands. If your camping is "incidental" to your mining operation and you are in fact on a mining claim, the 14 days would not apply.

    • @dicktaug4773
      @dicktaug4773 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean all I have to do to create a private campsite is to tack a yellow mining site sign to a tree? I mean an invalid claim is an invalid claim. And besides, occupancy is not a right, it's discretionary on the part of the agency. You have to have permission to occupy the land for more than 14 days. Without approval the USFS LEO can boot them out with no additional justification, paperwork, or official handwringing.

    Why not use some of your resources to sue the Forest Service or the county? I know money doesn't just grow on trees, but, maybe an event could help raise extra money for the purpose?
    OR, just hold an event on that claim. Several days in a row. Intentionally invade these guys' solitude and peaceful area. Maybe they'll leave because of all the outsiders haha

    Long term is to start voting smarter in local Elections. From land commissioners, Board of Education, City Councel to the DA. Another avenue is to take them to civil court on a small claims issue. costs very little to file and the end result is as some point the legals would play through and then the state or feds would come in and remove the individuals. Squeeky wheel get's the grease! Good luck on this. Your way more civil than what happens here in these mountains.

    I'm sorry I watched this video! Why? Because I'm an LDMA life member and in 1994 when I first joined, Italian bar in a class was my first stop. After a week there, I decided to check out the EXACT public area that these scumbags are occupying.
    I'm sorry because my "perfect place" image that I've visualized for the past 28 yrs WAS this spot. And now, I can't visualize it anymore. How sad I am. I was hoping to go to Italian Bar camp again, now... we'll see.
    Aloha

    Is there good gold in that section of the River?
    Sounds like dredging is legal in that section of the River? Right?
    A dozen dredge's should get someone's attention?

    Here is the thing, the forest service and fish and wildlife have better things to do, like ticket and fine a miner for using a highbanker, which obviously is more dangerous than an open sewer (this is sarcasm)

    I am a graduate student in mining law and policy at University of Arizona...this is not legal advice. In theory, you can overstake and then proceed with adverse claim action. Superior Court Judge should rule to enjoin both parties citing Act of Congress withdrawing area from hardrock mineral entry. Or at very least, judge could issue an ex parte temporary restraining order until dept of interior acts affirmatively. Did they file as a placer, lode or millsite?

    • @americanminingrightsassoci156
      @americanminingrightsassoci156  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Placer and we've explored that option. Not surprisingly, most judges have zero knowledge when it comes to mining law.
