  • A short guide to Spa in the Ferrari 296 GT3.
I may not be the fastest out there, but I hope this helps you find some time.
This guide was made in ACC 1.9.5 in an online server. Air temp was 18º, track was 30º. I was also running with LFM ballast, so an extra 10kg on the car

Finally a video that convinced me I can do Eau Rouge without lifting! Took about 1 second off my previous best lap hitting 2:20.4. Many thanks! 👍

Nice I hit the 2:21s last week but this makes me confident a high 2:17 is in reach if I just work on my consistency. The line is nothing crazy, its just very clean.

Great informative video! Hope to shave some tenths off with this, stuck at 2:20.6 but seems like a ton of corrections I can make!

Thanks! Glad you liked it, and good luck finding those tenths. Just a case of getting in the groove and finding those little places where you can find time.
      Cheers!

This is really useful thanks. I can’t do Eau Rouge flat out in the 296. Stuck around 2:21.4 at the moment. Will give it another bash now.

Hey man. I just banked in like an hour of practice on Spa, tried multiple different setups and I just can not get under the 2:17,5 marker what so ever. This has pretty much been a dead stuck point for some time now, even as I improve on other tracks (like I shaved off a second from Silverstone, on Monza I can hit 1:46,5s for reference). I am pretty much running the exact same racing line as you, have been even before the video, and I dont know where to find that extra second. Any idea as to where that might be? On most tracks I am on this level where I am pretty fast in public lobbies but its just missing that extra something to get to the top spot. Thanks for your time.

Don't worry, I was stuck in the mid 17s for a long time as well. Eventually something will click and the time will come
Hard to say exactly where to find the time without seeing a lap, but I know I found a lot of time learning just how much speed I could carry through Fagnes. If you manage to get hooked on the curb on the right it can pull you through the corner a lot faster than you think.
I also feel there's always time to be found and lost in the last chicane. The amount of laps that have been saved and ruined by different lines through there...
Stick with it, and if you find yourself already off pace half way through a lap use that as a chance to experiment with different lines on your way to the next lap. You never know when you might find that hidden second!

hey buddy, could you please tell what's the setup for this track/car? I did a 2:35.72 with this car on my 6th lap on default Normal setup (I'm new to this car in ACC and have my experience with an M4 + I'm a keyboad player + I'm here to be fast and have fun)

      G’day and welcome to ACC!
For this lap I was using a setup from gosetups.gg/ who make some fantastic ACC setups.
However I’d recommend just starting out with the default aggressive setup. Take the fuel out and switch the brake pads from 2 to 1 (brake pads 2 are for endurance races, brake pads 1 are for sprints and hot laps and work better), and then just keep practicing.
ACC isn’t really set up well for keyboard and mouse, but if you keep practicing and are having fun then I am sure the time will come to you!
Good luck out there on track, and thanks for checking out the video!

I still have no clue how people can brake later with more speed than me and make the turn so easily. For example 3:10 I believe I hit around 260 and still need to brake at that grass patch and sometimes before that. I tried with different ABS settings and all that, but nothing makes this drastic of a difference. I'm using 100% brakes as everyone suggests but I can't make the turn if I don't start to brake early. Same thing with the very first turn, if I start to brake at the 100 mark I always run wide, no matter what car I use.

It can take a bit to get used to, but try not letting off the brake fully as you turn in. Using the first corner as an example, you can see I am still modulating the brake all the way to the apex.
Not sure if that will help, but I know it was something that took me a while to get right when I was first starting to get fast in ACC

@@RustComet Right at the turning point between 9:52-9:53 you slow down so much suddenly. If I try to brake at the 100, at that part I just mentioned I'd still go with the speed like you have at 9:51-9:52. What I noticed just now that ABS is not activating for you at that first corner at all even though you have it on 2/11, but I always get those yellow colored glimpses on that brake meter unless I turn it off completely. Maybe it's just the Aston V8 / 911 that has different ABSes or something, or I just set the BB too far behind or something. Anyways thanks for the tip I'll mess around more.

@@GergiH Looks like the ABS not kicking in is a replay bug. I went back and tested it out again and the ABS is definitely kicking in on that corner (and all corners), it just doesn't show up on the replay.
Different cars definitely have different ABS preferences. I also gave the Aston a quick run and it seemed OK on the brakes using TC4. I'm not as comfortable in that car but could get it stopped in time for T1 using my normal braking marker.
One other thing to check is that your setup is using brake pads 1. The inbuilt Safe/Aggressive setups default to brake pads 2, which are for endurance races and don't work as well as brake pads 1.
      Hope some of this helps!

@@RustComet Oh didn't know about the brake pads, I thought it's just the same as with tires setting that it's just different sets, thanks much I'm trying that!

@@GergiH Pretty much always use brake pads 1 unless you're endurance racing. There's a wiki with the details.
