New 2023 Ferrari 296 GT3 by AF Corse - Antonio Fuoco, Rigon, Pierguidi - Kateyama Test Day at Monza

- Finally, I enjoyed seeing and filming the long-awaited New Ferrari 296 GT3, with which the Italian team AF Corse will participate in the GT World Challenge Europe championship in 2023. A couple of cars, still without livery, were tested at the Monza circuit during a couple of days organized by Kateyama. At the wheel, drivers such as Antonio Fuoco, Rigon and Pierguidi. The car, entirely designed in Maranello, is assembled in the French Oreca factories, and assistance to the customer teams also comes from the transalpine group. Unlike the previous 488, the new 296 GT3 adopts the F163CE engine derived from the road version. It's a 3.0-litre GDI Twin-Turbo V6 capable of developing around 600 hp and 712 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The magnesium gearbox houses a 6-speed transverse sequential unit with paddle shifters. The suspensions are Double Wishbone front and rear with tubular steel arms and aluminium uprights, shock absorbers adjustable in 5 positions and large Ø 400x36 mm discs at the front and Ø 332x32 mm at the rear. Finalmente ho avuto il piacere di vedere e filmare la tanto attesa Nuova Ferrari 296 GT3 che con la quale la scuderia italiana AF Corse prenderà parte al campionato GT World Challenge Europe nel 2023. Un paio di vetture, ancora senza livrea hanno testato sul circuito di Monza durante un paio di giornate di test organizzate da Kateyama. Al volante piloti importanti quali Antonio Fuoco, Rigon e Pierguidi. La vettura, interamente progettata a Maranello viene assemblata negli stabilimenti francesi Oreca e sempre da parte del gruppo transalpino giunge l'assistenza ai team clienti. A differenza della precedente 488, la nuova 296 GT3 adotta il motore F163CE derivato dalla versione stradale. Si tratta di V6 da 3.0-litri GDI Twin-Turbo capace di sviluppare circa 600 hp e 712 Nm a 5.000 giri/min. La scatola del cambio in magnesio racchiude un'unità sequenziale trasversale a 6 rapporti con comandi al volante. Le sospensioni sono anteriore e posteriore a Double Wishbone con bracci tubolari in acciaio e montanti in alluminio, ammortizzatori regolabili in 5 posizioni e grossi dischi Ø 400x36 mm all'anteriore e Ø 332x32 mm al posteriore. Its just straight up noise, barely hear the sound of V6 turbo engines / exhaust.
I was expecting sounds like NSX or GT-R GT3, but this one is quieter.

Yes, I was expecting a much louder engine sound; the loudest thing about this car is the downshifting gears that sound like rifle shots. The shape, on the other hand, is lovely.

I can only agree that the car is great and has enormous potential. The only disappointing thing is the engine's sound because this GT3 seems too quiet.

@@ItaliansupercarvideoFor real, I saw these things racing in the gt world america race earlier this year at cota. My god I couldnt even hear them over all the mercedes and porsches! Waaaay too quiet for my liking, I wish they'd find a way to make it louder. Even the m4 which I thought was pretty underwhelming, I could hear over the ferrari.

Well, it's a twin-Tube V6 engine, of course, you can't expect miracles in sound, you can't even compare it to a v12, but I agree they could have made it noisier.

I find this car fantastic in everything except for the sound of the engine; absolutely too silent to be a GT3, especially a Ferrari. The BMW M4 GT3 sounds three times louder than this one.

Yes, I love cars where you can see the exposed carbon bodywork without sponsors. In this way, the car is even more aggressive, just like in the last video where I filmed the Oreca 07 LMP2, which is all in black carbon 👍

Per adesso non sta raccogliendo molto, ma ci sta è all’inizio della sua avventura Per ora quale GT3 ti sembra essere la migliore/più completa ?
Sicuramente la BMW M4 GT3, auto di nuova generazione, estremamente veloce. Detto questo la Lamborghini da quest'anno ha la Huracan GT3 EVO, miglioramento di un prodotto maturo e quindi terrei d'occhio anche quella. Infine aggiungo la sempreverde AMG GT3 EVO che nonostante tutto è sempre lì in lotta per le prime posizioni.

@@MarcSob22 I don't know why on the same day there was also the BMW M4 GT3 on the track and I can tell you that the sound of the engine completely cancels that of the Ferrari, it is three times louder and also the BMW is a new concept car that respects all the last rules.

@@jacktovs Mi ma sicuramente lo è, mi sembra molto agile in inserimento curva rispetto alla 488, sicuramente il motore più leggero è un'altro aiuto. Tutto sembra ad un'altro livello. E' solo questione di tempo e son convinto che l'auto inizierà a vincere senza problemi.

Thanks bro, the 296 GT3 however sounds like a Nissan GTR GT3 - and I thought the 488 was quiet, Ferrari said, ''Hold my bear!'' - Mustang says ''we'll give the crowd something to enjoy, take out the turbos right now" Booo to Ferrari, BMW and Acura. Please ban turbos and keep the sport sounding good.
Indeed, everyone is free to develop their car and use the engine they see fit. Ferrari's compact V6 Twin-Turbo is an excellent choice; however, as a spectator, I enjoy hearing the powerful sound of a racing car, and I thank the manufacturers who use naturally aspirated engines.

I AM going to wait for the one with 'Eelectrick drive', with no clutch, tranny, diff. or drive shafts - just hub motors in all 4 wheels, because those hub motors also give extra super cool braking.
Also no worry about carbon monoxide poisoning when running indoors like this, because it would use HOPE and exhast pure water. You have not heard of the 'Hydrogen Oxygen Piston Engine'? oh well... we blame the Koch crimefamily for that.
Bonito todo pero el sonido del motor deja mucho q desear suena como los viejos lmp1 diesel un porsche rsr del gte suena mucho mejor ese v6 deberia ser un canto de dios en pista si no tuviera los turbos restringe mucho el sonido del motor yo hubiera optado por un supercargador
Me encuentras perfectamente de acuerdo. Lo realmente decepcionante de este automóvil es el sonido del motor casi completamente ausente. El BMW M4 GT3 también tiene un motor biturbo de 6 cilindros pero suena mucho mejor. Espero que Ferrari intervenga en este aspecto.

Sounds pretty cool. Not as badass as my 1985 Kawi turbobike though! Just got her back together. Sounds like nothing else! Those don't even sound like racecars. Count me out. No interest whatsoever in these cars.
The car as a whole (design, performance, agility, gearbox, speed) looks fantastic. The only thing that disappointed me was the sound of the engine, which was too quiet for a racing car.
