Again, the long-time reviews are worth gold, thanks for sharing your experience. Too bad the PNW boots are such a mess with sizing, that would make it a pretty expensive gamble to order one from across the pond with customs fees and all that. We have some companies in Germany and Austria that still make great stitchdown boots and hiking shoes, it just would be nice to see the difference between the European and US styles.
@@GentlemansJourney I guess it is always greener on the other side 😄 Have you ever had the chance to try out some european brands ? Especially for mountaineering boots and forestry boots there are some excellent manufacturers like Meindl, Hanwag, Pfanner, Steinkogler and Remisberg. Usually made in stitchdown construction with very sturdy (up to 5mm leather in case of the Pfanner Tirol) uppers. Greetings from Germany
Yeah! I made my order today brown not the roughout! Let me check if this original Smokejumper how goes to my feet. I've been waiting for 14 weeks since they don't have 8.5/D in stock.
My smoke jumpers look destroyed after 2 weeks of work but they are still going strong a couple months in the back country of north idaho. The out sole on the heal did start to separate a little from the mid sole but other than that no complaints
I’m breaking in my first pair of Whites Smokies. First two-three wearing a I put baby powder inside to be able to get it one, I wear good thick wool socks and I put 3 coats of oil on mine. Then…I wore them! A lot! They were real stiff at first but they are quickly becoming my favorites! Btw….i sized down on mine. Perfect fit! 11D.
Are you familiar with Doc Martens? I own a pair and want to order White’s and I’m wondering if the sizing of White’s would be similar to Docs. Alternatively, have you used White’s sizing suggestions on their website? They make you measure the outline of your foot and then when you input the length it tells you the suggested size. Do you know if those size suggestions are accurate?
Hey there and thanks for watching. I was sized in the store but talking through ordering online with the associate gave me great confidence that you would get a great fitting boot if you follow their online instructions. 🥾🥾
I might have misheard you, but you said you couldn't get a smooth toebox/RO upper because White's said it would affect the fire rating? They have all smooth fire boots, so i don't understand what they meant by saying it wouldn't work. Also great vid man!
Yeah its a bit weird. Has to be either all smooth or all rough out for the rating. If it’s half and half it won’t work. Guess meshing the opposite materials is seem as a weakness. Thanks so much for watching! 🥾🥾
How do you condition the rough out leather or do you. I just got in the 350-cs rough out red dog leather and wasn’t sure if I should put oil on them or not.
this isn't the model I was looking at, I guess. not as many white's testimonials out there as some of the other brands, but similar issue with the heel stack if you're just using them for hiking as the urban loggers we discussed last week or whatever, etc.
I'm with ya for sure. That said, to my point. If you are making money and your job requires flip flops more power to ya. However, if you are out with family and need to be able to get away or take care of your family or others in a pinch or emergency, I find it hard to believe that you could be any good in flip flops! Cheers
Yes but just got them at Christmas. Only a month in them now but will have to say so far so good. Basically no break in like the Thorogoods, which I wear at work. Only wearing the Origins outside of work. I would definitely recommend trying them and best of all the are USA sourced and made, really like that about them. Still dying for some Nick’s Americans
1 year later and they still look new...
Not getting as much attention as I want but they are going to get hit harder in 2024.
I have two pair of White's boots had one pair rebiult twice and may other pair once. My oldest pair is twelve years old.
Man that is such a huge testament to this brand! Thanks for letting us know
What does rebuilt means???

Gotta take a vacation to PNW and stay at the Davenport Hotel ... You will love it...
@@HeritageCast Would love to, maybe one day…
I’ll check that out.
@christophbecker1630 I understand the struggle tying to get boots from your end of the world, guess grass is always greener.. cheers mate

Killer boot for sure, thanks for sharing! 🥾🥾

Have you tried obenauf laces? I really like them.
No I haven’t, good tip!
Yeah there fine if you don’t mind sticky hands all day.

Love North Idaho. Was just up in Boundary County in Bonners Ferry. Cheers Brother.

Randomly enough I’m putting out a video on that in 2 weeks. You can use obenauf's leather oil or Lp
@@GentlemansJourney thanks, I am looking forward to seeing it.
Do they have the red ❌on the bottom

So are these 55 or 4811 last?
4811, thanks for watching

Real Men wear flip-flops? I hope not...........
I give them all a hard time for various reasons and some people seem to agree with me on some points at least.
Right!

Hafta save some comments for my later broadcasts, but I don't think you need to oil the rough.
Have you tried Origin Boots?
Not yet, have them?
