I hope I sound this great at 76. Wow! And you’re exactly right - this is about having fun with these great songs. And how can you not? This band is great.
its sad to know this is close to the end of the road for him....what great memories I have after 45 years of going to concerts...seen VH around 20 times...thanks for the great video
Yes, closer to the end than most of us thought...Sammy doesn't seem to have much left in him vocally...seemed to have happened rather quickly/suddenly..of course he lost power and range gradually over the last few years and had to tune it down a notch or two, but he still sounded good...now he seems to be barely able to pull it off..sad indeed...I actually thought Sammy would defy age and keep his voice to the very end....
I was at that show too and glad it didn't get cancelled by lightning. Long time VH fan but never got around to seeing them live. Once it was announced with Satriani I knew this was the closest I would get. My favorite part at 32:06 "Eddie can do it!" Great show!
We went to the West Palm Show it was great and agreed its closure Sammy said it best at the end of our show...."Its just Mike and I trying to keep this alive" Joe did an amazing job , Jason and Rai also.
He said the same at our show and this tour definitely is keeping the music alive. There are just too many songs that bring joy to VH fans that we haven't heard live in a long time. Agreed on the band sounding amazing as well.
I think that was Mary's first comment as well about the band just looking like they were having a great time. If this was the end for his shows in the area, it was an amazing way to go out.
Finally, someone got it right. This isn’t about a money grab. All the guys on that stage have enough cash. it takes a lot of energy to get out there at that age and play those shows. This is the celebration of a career that spans 50 years.
Thank you for the effort. Looks like it was a great show, hopefully I will be able to see them up here in the heart of the rust belt. They all did a good job, Joe seemed to play all the "Eddie Parts" quite well, and Sammy, and Mark sounded on par of all the songs. Damn good for men in their 70's still up there Rock'n!!!
I've seen comments saying Sam didn't mention Eddie at all and that this tour is all about his ego, but your video showed him giving a lot of praise to Eddie. I think he and Mike just want what was created with Van Halen to continue on.
It's a despicable cash grab and Sammy should be ashamed after all the trashing of EVH...they should have played Montrose, all Solo Red Rocker stuff, chckenfoot, Satch stuff and left the VH alone...sound like crap on it as well...EVH rules!
@@autk Why even watch these videos if you're going to hate? By your logic, they shouldn't be playing Montrose either. Would anyone know who Montrose was if someone wasn't performing the music?
Great video.Im seeing them tomorrow night in upstate ny....i cant wait .the best music ever ,from the best time ever.love sammy and van halen ,since i was younger.dave and sammy each brought their own style to van halen.too bad they couldnt all be together .
The band sounded kick ass! I’m a huge Van Halen fan and Satriani fan, Hagar fan Bonham fan and Michael Anthony has kicked ass always on everything so I’m definitely happy to see this tour happening
I was there, it was great!!! I saw Sammy last year at the Strawberry Festival and it was fine, fun short show. But with Satch and good sound and production, this show was definitely next level. They were having so much fun, how about that energy at 76? I have never seen Satriani live before, what a treat. I loved the little extra rifs from other songs he threw in. I am lucky enough to live only a few exits away and didn't leave the house until the message went out they opened the doors. I would love them at Rockville, but that'll probably not happen. Styx and Foreigner on Saturday and Halestorm/I Prevail on August 1st.
@@FireBladeRR-RSP yeah, I am not a huge fan anyway. Going to see Tommy Shaw and John Waite. Plan to skip out on the encore for Foreigner and beat the traffic 😝
Seeing Sammy. Mikey. Joe, Rai, and Jason in a week. I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t find myself in either camp, David or Sammy. I’m just a Van Halen fan who is also a Sammy fan, prior, in, and after Van Halen. David gets equal time on my radio too.
Duude! that was an epic video intro in concert, put my skin.. man i don't know amazing!!! what amazing concert man, the best of the bests! tha was awesome!!!, thanks man for share this
Another excellent video, looks like an absolute blast! I'm trying my darnedest to see the tour here in Michigan. August is absolutely packed wirh shows, but your video makes me think I will regret missing out. Sammy and Mikey are true Rock Lifers! VH will never die in our hearts! 🎸 🎸
I loved every minute of this, i cant wait to see it in a couple weeks. Super pumped for “space station no 5”, but the VH selections spot on curious if theyll swap out one or two as the tour goes…still waiting years to hear Cabo Wabo live. Awesome for him to do roth era stuff too, bringing it full circle. Awesome video as always.
Thanks for a great review and video. I'll be at the August 3 show, 3rd row. Been a big Sammy fan since 1981. Only got into VH after he joined the band. This will be a great concert.
Excellent video giving us a glimpse on what was a great, fun night of rock n' roll!! Great venue over there in Tampa 😀and really liked your take at the end of the video on what this Best of All Worlds tour is really about.
I saw the show Friday night in Charlotte, NC. It was Awesome. I just love this lineup and Satch is god. I Think he made Eddie proud. Kickass show! We got rained on too. Thank you for posting this!! I also loved the fact they were all up there just having a great time!!
I saw Sammy Hagar's Van Halen in September 2004 in Tampa when I was going to college at USF at the time. It was a great show even with Eddie's not so great playing. I am catching this 2024 tour in Dallas next month August 22. I cannot wait!
Sammy's one constant is that he has fun playing for the fans. Yeah he's said some things he regrets over the years - particularly when he and the VH boys were at odds. But he's owned it and has made amends and wanted the fans to get another chance to remember how amazing the VH catalog is, and honestly he couldn't have picked better mates to showcase that. I'm sure Ed would approve. Instead of constantly bitching about it like DLR... Sammy's delivering for the fans. And also unlike DLR Sammy can still perform. CHEERS!
Excellent video and Great listening to you talking about it! Thanks for sharing your video! I wished I had gone but, I saw Loverboy wasn't listed on where I was looking on their tour schedule for Tampa. I was also looking at getting the yard seats at the last minute and I had never been to the venue and I saw that wicked lightning storm come. The storm was probably worse in Pinellas County. I didn't want to get wet and I was thinking the people that purchased yard tickets were getting drenched. I am glad you shared the show and I appreciate it! I am glad you enjoyed the concert very much! Thanks again for sharing your video!
Great video! Minus some of the high notes, Sammy still sounds like Sammy after all these years, and that’s pretty cool to see and hear. I also thought it was cool that you ended with “treat others the way you want to be treated.” 👍🏼

Great video! Well done. I saw Van Halen back in the 80s with Dave and then later at the Van Halen monsters of Rock tour with Sammy.
