  • AC/DC performing live at Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, Scotland, UK on April 30, 1978 during the early days of the Powerage tour.
Pro-shot clips AI upscaled, frame rate increased, and original audio (not the one from If You Want Blood album) enhanced.
The entire Glasgow concert was filmed but the complete footage has never been released. Eventually, "Riff Raff" and "Fling Thing/Rocker" segments were made available on the DVD AC/DC Family Jewels, released in 2005. Video footage was also used from the show on Family Jewels using the "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation" studio version audio track promotional clip. Segments from the concert (the songs "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation", "Dog Eat Dog" and "Let There Be Rock") were made available on the DVD Plug Me In, released in 2007. "Bad Boy Boogie" was included on the bonus disc on the three-disc edition of Plug Me In. This version was taken from the RAGE broadast.
    00:00 - 1) Riff Raff
    05:25 - 2) Rock and Roll Damnation
    09:05 - 3) Dog Eat Dog
    13:32 - 4) Bad Boy Boogie
    21:14 - 5) Let There Be Rock
    29:36 - 6) Fling Thing (Bonny)
    30:52 - 7) Rocker

@@timholtzclaw8930 Except that everything sounds pretty much the same. (And the fact that almost every song is in the same key doesn't help.) Don't get me wrong, the band is playing really well here. But the songs started getting better, with much more groove and a bluesier sound. They added space to their riffs--think Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Shook Me All Night Long--compared to this relentless, beat-you-over-the-head garage rock.

@@billkrebs4227 There's not really much to disagree with regarding my description of the songs. Most of the songs in this set are basically one-chord riffs in the same key. Just click randomly through the video; except for slight tempo changes, most of it sounds like the same song, and it doesn't take a genius to recognize that. But if you like this era better, knock yourself out.

I saw them on on this tour 24th May at the Plymouth Metro, a relatively small club with a capacity of around 500. I was right at the front six feet from Angus most of the time. It remains to this day the best gig I have ever been to and I've been to a few. They were on top of their game and tight AF. I was 16 then, I'm 60 soon. The opening riff of Riff Raff was LOUD and I remember thinking it's gonna get way louder in a minute. It did. What an opener. Utterly phenomenal. It was so loud my clothes moved around on my body & my ears rang for a week. I'm sure it did some damage, bands just don't play that loud anymore. We got there early and helped the roadies set up - Angus popped in late afternoon for a soundcheck and quick noodle on his guitar then was driven off at speed in a tuned Ford Granada. It seems an age ago.

I had floor seats and Angus was carried through the floor area crowd on a roadies shoulders, splashing sweat on us. They kicked serious ass and stole the show. When we left, I asked everyone "Who was that band?!" and no one knew. That night I heard a commercial on KMET about a new band from Australia with an album just out called Powerage. This is as good as it will ever get for rock music. There are so many marvelous rock bands that have come and have gone. But for me, no band had this perfect combination of raw power, talent, no-bullshit-song structure and flawless execution as AC/DC in the late 70s. I am not a fan of hyperbole the way it can be found in comment sections around TH-cam, but this was the top of the top of the top of rock and roll coming together to form the perfect band: The best lead guitarist of a generation, a man born to be a rock and roll-singer - breathing and living the rock and roll lifestyle to the fullest with all his heart, the best bassist a rockband can wish for, the best rhythm guitarist a rockband can ever wish to have and a drummer that is as tight as it can get - forming the best, most song-serving and tightest rhythm section ever. And all of them come together to grace the world with this performance of a lifetime. AND it was captured on film!

@My Email lol that's because only pussies wear anything with shoelaces all the time. My mans was mostly a boot guy ;-) they are good yes... actually idk where in the fuck you're getting Axle being even anywhere near the top 10 lol. Hes authentic I'll give you that. Generic as fuck though lol. And he acts like a HUGE pussy on stage too lol! Bon would literally probably woop his ass 😂 His lyrics are pretty elementary too so I guess I could see why "some folks" like him lol. But in terms of originality and influence Bon and Robert are hands down top 5. Axle realistically is more down there next to guys like Dio an the White Snake singer. Which Dio gets a bad rap sometimes but you got to think in a broad perspective. And ACDC in the 70s is by far the best straight up Rock N Roll band there ever was. Their albums and the production of them are light years better than anything Guns N Roses ever did that wasn't mainstream. Most everything they did was somewhat mainstream.. We're talking about super classic albums like Powerage that influenced guys like Axle and Slash lol... No comparison at all bro sorry.. Slash and Axle would probably say the same thing and you know it. You can't change facts.

And to think not long prior to this, he was a bearded, flute playing hippie in a band called Fraternity. There’s footage on TH-cam of Bon and Fraternity. In that footage there’s no clue that he would become the bare chested, scream machine ACDC frontman, and become a legend in his own right. A great loss that’s for sure, and still felt today. The way the band comes out of a break, sometimes with no more queue than Angus' arm, is just so perfect. I've been playing almost as long as Angus, and he is still a guitar god to me. Malcolm is/was the Man and main songwriter of that band. Never got to see them with Bon Scott, but hearing those energy giving songs that make/ made me go spastic and feel hyped and epically energized in 7th. grade until pretty much today was/is great. Until recently I never knew any of this footage existed. If You Want Blood is by FAR my favorite AC/DC release. Just my opinion (I don't want to upset anyone), but I truly believe the performance here is superior to any studio release they did with Bon. None of the studio LP's capture the fire and aggression they have in this live show. Bon's voice is BLAZING. Lightning in a bottle, once in a millenium kinda stuff. He shows here why he's the undisputed greatest frontman of his generation.

I with you. I had never seen the video they made for it until I came across it on TH-cam a few years ago. ANd it was already 40 years old then. That was so well done. It became one of my favorite songs all of a sudden. it also made me go find out more about the early forming of the band and all that. I gained a much needed kick in the ass for discounting them with regard to their true talent and musical knowledge learning about Malcolm's rock steady rythym playing wherin Angus fed off that. And I can thank that "Let there be Rock" video with Bon Scott at the pulpit. Oh and Angus with the Halo on his head. Cute. I watch it ever few months now. I have always liked AC/DC. As a 25 year old there would be nothing better than going back to this night in 1978, 50 miles from where I grew up, with a few beers spending the night in that sweaty, smoke filled room listening and rocking out to the best version of AC/DC there was live and in the flesh. Very clique but I do wish I grew up in this era, with proper music, before the world became so soft, boring and self obsessed.
