I got to see VH on the tour promoting Balance. It is the only time I saw them. Never with DLR. My VH growing up was with Sammy as the front man. My wife also loves VH with Sammy, and never saw them. I have tickets, and we are going to this show when it comes here next month. I cannot wait!
The band sound amazing. Satriani absolutely nailing it! Sammy struggling a touch, but no surprise given his age. Be great if they had Gary join them at a couple of shows to do Fire In The Hole.
@@artderesh221let’s see how you look close to 80 years old , that’s if your lucky enough to make it . Everyone knows who Sammy hagar is but nobody will ever know who you are .
Certainly very little Dave era stuff... Joe certainly fits the 4/4 straight rock feel... Was there any of the material that put VH on the map there? I am not talking the commercial Jump, Panama, or ain't talkin....but the swing...
@@evansmusic2009 the commercial shit put them on the map, their biggest roth wra hits were on 1984. If you’re expecting the swing its highly unlikely im the one is gonna be played unless mike sings it
@@knightfall9394 The 1st album was definitely the one that put them on the map and outsold all of the Hagar era by far... the subsequent albums fared similar to the Hagar era until 1984 which was their biggest success commercially... However being a Sammy show of course the classic era didn't get a look in other than the 2 hits from 1984 and a cover song from the 1st album... It's a shame it wasn't an 'All worlds' tour as expected... Not a hint of the Gary era...
Joe has so much respect for Eddie! He really does Eddie great with a Satch flavor added in ..... The whole band is killing it. Love Sammy and Mike. Yeah and that Bonham kid aint bad either.LOL. Awesome rock history on that stage
Satch sounds amazing. 😍 Your videos are by far the best ones of the night. Can’t make it to the US in time for the Tour so this means a lot. Big thank you for uploading from Germany.
GREAT CELEBRATION EVENT WORTH EVERY PENNY TO GET IN…..By the way Sammy funded this entire tour himself to honor Eddie VH. And every former VH player was offered the chance to be a part of it
What I always liked about the Sammy-led Van Halen was that he would sing all the band's catalog and not just the albums that he had done with them. Unlike Dave where he wouldn't even touch (and probably couldn't have even sung them anyway, but still) the Sammy-era songs when they went out on their last tour.
I’m a huge Red Rocker fan and prefer the Van Hagar years but he didn’t visit the classic VH material very much at all. Even in the beginning when Jump was their biggest hit , he would bring fans up to sing it. They usually had more Sam solo songs than older VH songs. I think Jump , Panama, Aint Talkin bout Love , Unchained, Really Got Me, Running With the Devil (just on the Monsters Of Rock) were the only ones. I love the set list on this tour but it would be even cooler if they busted out some deep cuts from the DLR era for a super tribute.
I am curious what all Howard Stern Show criticasters say at this moment. There where guys who created the natative that Satch was a laughing stock and should be replaced by some bedroom Van Halen player. Yeah, right. These guys nailed it...and Hagar, 76 years young...what an energy!
The boys are sounding great but Jason needs to get a check on those tempos. So far, every song I’ve heard, he’s either counting it off too slow or once everyone starts playing, he drags the tempo down and it’s not just a little. It’s very noticeable. Playing songs 4 or 5 beats slower than the original is such a buzzkill to me but I know it’s just my opinion and it means nothing except that it makes me feel better griping about it. I guess it’s the drummer in me.
So awesome to hear this song again!!!
This is the best rendition I’ve heard from the set yet. Judgement Day was waaaaay too slow and low, this sounds brilliant!
Great song!
Monstrous song!
This band skills is unmatched by anything new in rock and roll today this is classic!!!!!🎸🎤🥁👍💯
I'll soon be owning the album Balance for 30 years. Still timeless

OMG!!! Great job Satch! What a trip down memory land. Eddie knew how to write a song!!!! Thank you so much!
Ed wrote the music-Sam wrote ‘the song’
Satch kills the Sammy era stuff, absolutely fantastic!
77 years old, not a backing track in sight. This is how it’s done.
Song literally begins with a backing track. 😂
@@kfitz2711 You know what he means, you sucker
Hell yeah!
In sight? lol
@@kfitz2711no.it was keyboards, sorry was so simple
This song has finally been heard again after not being on stage for a long time

Oh wow, what a blast that would be

I hope Gary joins them at some point. Sammy said there will be guests. I think Gary would be an awesome choice
You can feel the spirit of Eddie and the good ol days in that room

Holy Crap! The spirit of Eddie is strong with this band.
You can hear Eddie, and you can hear Joe. That in itself is absolute magic.
This is awesome. Joe giving tribute to the King is badass!!!👍👍👍👍👍

Old rockers never die!
Such an unrated song. Great job Joe you have Eddies tone, not easy to do. Sammy and Mikey killing it as always.
Add Jason to that as well his drumming is on point
I'm sure Eddie is smiling from heaven. This is freaking awesome.
Eddie would say... why bother if Al and I aren't there?!?
Mikey’s backing vocals are still so good, he never got enough credit in the original VH albums. Love that dude!

People were ruling him out crazy ! This guys a master teacher 🤦🏻♂️😀
Damn!!! They are killing it! Fantastic!!!
They sound great! Can’t wait to see them!!
As Sammy would say, "I've got goose bumps!" So good to hear these songs being played again.
My favorite song by sammy
😎😎😎 Thanks for posting this! VH-4 life! 🤘🤘🤘
Agree with others that the spirit of EVH is shining, hallejulah
Got goosebumps looking at this. Satriani is that dude.
Excellent!
We are headed to see them Tuesday in Alpharetta Georgia! Can't wait!
F'ing awesome, All of them just killing it

Sammy is a class act
Sounds soooo good
❤awsome job guys hope i have this energy at your age 😊all great musicians all have 40 plus years of energy and experience in the music industry.
Hopefully they will add more dates to the tour, it's mostly secondary markets right now.
need to see don’t tell me & can’t stop loving you & aftershock in the set
Awesome job by the whole band.
Wow!!!! I can't wait to see this show in Arkansas
Good lord Mike and Sammy are so good (as per usual) but Satch’s 90’s EVH tone is perfect
Just incredible!
Just awesome! 🔥
That's why they are legends. Specially Sammy singing that hard stuff at 77 yo and making a tribute to Eddie. Hell yeah! 🤘
Seeing this tour this August at the Los Angeles Forum!
Jason has the right approach on the drums ... great job guys !
Absolute total bad assery! Sounds amazing, unless of course ur one of the Van Hagar era haters.. this stuff is being performed as it should be.
Wooooo!

They're just pissed that EVH wasn't the only guitar guru from that era.
WOW! WOW! WOW!*******************
Sounds pretty good. Too bad I live in Norway. Big VH fan!
5 weeks to Houston.
Awesome
Sammy is incredible😮
I seen the show in Noblesville, when I seen Michael Anthony walk on stage, i just yelled " Michael FKN Anthony
This song really suits Joe's playing style. Great sound.
Joe Satriani is THE MAN!!!
Band sound really good, will they be able to come out with an original LP?
who says their recording?
@@knightfall9394key word original???
Jason holding his end of the bargain too. Not an easy task.
What's the movie clips from?
When’s the Australian leg of the tour?😢
Was Judgement Day on the set list?
Yes
Yessss!!!!
Yes
This same channel has the video of that song
Fucking show rocked!
Threw vinyl OUT 😂😂😂
How is sammy able to sing this high still. I know it's tuned down, but even at 52, I can't hit these notes anymore
I don't doubt Eddie is smiling ear to ear.
I think Sammy removed the lyric referencing a “gun” maybe of what happened with Trump
Trying to get the Alex snare sound
Sounds really close, but he’s not doing those extra syncopated snare hits Alex does in this song
