I've had this Headtracker set about two years, but I haven't tried it on my small 400mm plane yet, it's true, there is sometimes a bit of a problem with binding. thanks for the instructive video.
ive tried putting it on 540mm (You can probably manage tilt on XK a280 540mm if you use a micro servo) and to be fair, 800mm with a big canopy would be your best bet like FMS trojan, or even better FMS ranger 850 (it has GPS RTH which is good if you loose FPV).
@@NSChenRC1 Thanks for the answer and advice. I'm just a beginner, I think I probably won't be able to master larger planes. I have an XK A280 P-51 560mm and a QIDI-560 Maule M7 510mm. If it doesn't work on mustang p51d 400mm maybe I'll try a bigger plane. I want to try only simple headtracking left-right direction, I know that because of the weight it might not work perfectly - th-cam.com/video/7nvP87VdSao/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3QtuDCraC3gMX87D
@@Ambobeat The XK a 280 is a good option. The problem with it is that the flight controller circuit board is directly under the pilot area. So you will need a short microservo (3g) to fit into the canopy unless you put it on the nose of the plane. you can get a split JST wire to power both Headtracker-Camera and Plane. 5V BEC for the Headtracker-Camera setup. I recommend walksnail Caddx goggles L and walksnail Caddx Lite 1s kit. It runs on 3.7-5V power so you can technically wire it onto a servo plug and power it with the BKRC receiver on the plane. (If you want clear quality videos, otherwise analog FPV systems will do) Heres an example of such a similar setup > th-cam.com/video/BJIPhWE6Ch8/w-d-xo.html
@@NSChenRC1 Thanks for the information. Caddx goggles and kit they are already a bit expensive for me, even though I have no doubt that they are of better quality
Awesome! Thank you so much. I guess this setup have nothing to do with setting up with the spektrum NX tx using the trainer cable and so on and it has no connection with the airplane receiver too. Is that correct. Would be great to know from you your progress now with that technology and if there any updated version now of similar head trackers out there , maybe more smooth and reliable ? I will be using it on a relatively expensive model. Thanks
hai, im using Foxeer T-Rex and the googles is EACHINE 300D. The actual video i see from the google is clear. Static when the plane is further from me..i would advise you go for HD system if you wish for clear view. Im just a casual pilot and not too extreme in this FPV hobby.
hello! great video and great explanation! thanks! I am trying to do the same. could you please write the TX you used for the FPV cam? I got a Runcam Phoenix2 but not a transmitter yet. Did you also need a battery for the cam? thanks for your feedback
Bro, head tracker reciever rated for 5VDC. You could fried the tracker's reciever if connect directly to 7.4vdc battery. Take the power from the plane reciever as it should be 6vdc. Look out at your plane receiver BEC output.

Hi, thanks for watching!! I have not tried yet or plan to do range testing, but you are giving me an idea for it. Will do it in somewhere near future. To answer you now, product claimed it has 800m range for air and 200m for land application. I think it is reasonal claim.

Yup, this is a totally separate system and really easy to setup. Just need to have 5v from the receiver and its good to go.
