hi Andy, if your after a simple fc/stabiliser the Zohd Kopilot is a great option as it has a simple launch mode/ RTH. works wonders in my ar wing and i'm a total noob when it comes to rc planes

Andy on your attachment to the goggles you might want to try 3M Dual Lock. Similar to Velcro but connections have very little wiggle.

Perfectly executed formation flight. Hint: for position-calling I would suggest the 'o clock method, next time. I.e.: "five o clock low" would mean slightly lower on the right side a bit behind. Makes orientation easier - like they do it with the 1:1 ships. :-)

can you hook up a flight controller to the conditioner plug on the battery then to the dji unit? or could you use a Y adapter from the battery to the FC

I have never used a fc in a plane as you said it gets complicated and Flys great though looking into a head tracker once I get to my new country of work as where I live rc planes are a pain and can not get a permit.
Hi there, does your fpv unit transmit sound too? or just video? Have you found a way to also retrieve telemetry from your flight controller and pump that into OSD?

Nice job guys. That dji system looks heavy. I fly my planes fpv too but with very light weight fpv systems. Just a camera on one servo for pan. Attached to a micro vtx on its own 1s battery. Also just a fraction of the cost compared to a dji system. Awesome video and great flying guys!

There's a guy on TH-cam that sometimes flies an airplane with 2 motors on the wings... I forgot the models name, but his channel is called bonafidepirate. It's a fantastic airplane, because the prop doesn't get in the way! 😃

How small could you make this setup in the cockpit just out of curiosity? Maybe 3d print a mount? I'm thinking make the camera tilt setup as small as possible that way you can get some cockpit instrument stickers in frame too. Maybe get one of these in a warbird!

Yes it recenters for like if you have changed seating position. And if it's not doing that. Most likely got the switched wired up wrong
i build my arduino headtracker in my dji goggles just behind the front face plate. works like a champ no wires dangling no drift at all

@@AndyRCchannel To bad i dont have pic's of building in. its pretty straight forward though. just solderd 2 wires to the bullet conector inside the goggles. ( searched for a tear down of the goggles on youtube ) removed front plate becouse i planned using th crystal clear patch antenna and slide in the arduino nano 33-ble (coverd in headschrink) between the 2 displays.
I used 2 arduino nano boards, 1 in my goggles and 1 in my receiver. th-cam.com/video/IuWu_wMI1c8/w-d-xo.html
You can also use 1 board but then you have all the wires hanging everywhere again. Nice thing of arduino nano 33-ble its a all in one board. its onley 2 wires to solder in the goggles (power and ground)
and 5 in my transmitter. (power, ground 2x, ppm out, and i used a switch to reset center) the ppm out you can also solder to a trainer cable if you dont want to install in the radio. it uses bleuthooth to connect to eachother.
Remember thoug the arduino can work from 4.5v to max 21v. so dont conect it to a 6s battery.(although if i remember corectly max4s for the dji goggles anyway)

also links for the arduino setup in discription of the last clip. I can defently recomend building in. its so much nicer to use now. and less things to think off.
power on goggles and transmitter if needed flip a switch for reset and go , no more extra battery's for goggles or pulling a wire in a accedent.
Last note, you can use the nano ble with 3.3volt but you have to cut a trace on the board, and when uploading you need to power the board. stock you can use usb onley for programming.

Yep Brilliant, my skills are't there yet. Dream of doing this with a quadcopter. Flying at 90 degrees tis the next mini quad cinemtic challenge. Getting a shot and seeing where your going. Yeah yeah big challenge AND why not sub 250. Aiming for the skyzone 04's (analogue) with built in head tracker, could you improve my journey and help my wallet; either way i will endevour eventually. Fun fun fun :-)

The company "3M" have a special kind of velcro called "Dual Lock" and it has abolsutely no play in it whatsoever because both sides have hard-ish plastic barbs (instead of barbs and wooly stuff on the normal velcro). That would sort out any wobbles if you didn't want to permanently glue your headtracker.
Yeah it's used on the plane to secure down the FC. It's just I like the nesness of the wireless headtacker

It would be an amazing experience if somehow you could sit in a cockpit that mimicked the movement on the video.
Im trying to surprise my father for his birthday with an fpv system for his rc edf jet. We already got him the Dji Goggles V2 and a dji O3 air unit. Im just not sure how we are going to supply power to the air unit inside his edf jet. If anyone has any help we would really appreciate it as his bday is right around the corner.

@@AndyRCchannel I was always intrigued by RC planes, had it in the back of my head as something I could maybe do with my son when he is old enough, but so far never really got into it. But Gone Flying kinda did me in, I am looking into sims, now. I am looking for a good starter plane, slowly learning all the things. And you have so many wings vids, I always only watched the drone stuff. So there is a lot to catch up on, and so little time. So no hurry with the editing, I am looking forward to it, though. I hope you are doing good. Thanks for all the videos :)

this makes want to get back into rc flying. Flying in the 3rd person gets boring.
Why doesn't someone make a unit like this that's low drag?...Take a gyro gimbal turret like the NextVision Colibri and mount it at the nose, its long axis pointed forward.
Not enough interest. A niche within a niche. I have these on jets and don't notice any extra drag
@@AndyRCchannel You may be right, but if I had the money to spare, I'd give it a try even though there may appear to be not enough interest...sometimes you have to do something first before enough interest appears. Mounting these on things like jets or the plane in this vid that already have pathetically low L/D ratios isn't going to change their L/D's by many percent, but if you want to carry something on a much higher L/D airplane, say especially a glider-sailplane, it's a massive drop in L/D and that's a travesty for an airplane like that, not too mention how absolutely ugly it looks.
