Thanks for sharing. I am currently going to try and make a blanket using Lion Brand Homespun thick and quick #6 bulky. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Hi! Easily the best and clearest videos on the how-to's of looming. My question...how to avoid the seam when attaching squares for a blanket. Thank you for ALL your videos, would be lost without them....best wishes.
Thank you for your kind words. I think you can do a "mattress stitch" but that is more a term used in"sewing" them to together. If you are putting them back on loom to join, I'm not sure if you can avoid the seam. I would look up "mattress stitch" online and see if that will help you.
I am make a blanket like you are showing on this it great when I finish I post. I would like your option on it thanks for the great videos they help me a lot . Also exprier me to make more with my looms
I USED TO CROCHET BUT MS TOOK THAT AWAY..ENTER LOOM KNITTING. I HAVE A ROOM FULL (LITERALLY) OF PANELS--HATS--SCARVES, ETC...YOUR EXCELLENT, THOROUGH AND CALM TUTORIALS HAVE SAVED ME!! SUZ
hi, thank you for sharing your videos. I have learned a lot. I have just finished my first patch blanket and is pretty much the same as you show here but the squares were 8×8 done on a round loom. I'd like to try this way now to make bigger squares making for less patching. I know you mention you can go any length 8 - 12 inches, what I'm wondering is.......what is the width of the square done on the ( 18 peg loom I think it was you mentioned ) ? As I would like to make it as square as possible, rather than rectangular if I were to do it longer than it is wide or shorter than it is wide. Thank you. ;)
There are 18 pegs per side, so 36 total. I do not have this loom anymore so I can to watch the video to count the pegs. In part of the video I counted (on camera) how many pegs were on one side (18 pegs). Therefore, it would be 36 total because there isn't pegs on the ends that are used. Hope this helps. You can do squares on any loom you have so experiment with what you have on hand.
I just found out I am going to be a grandma for the 5th time and I am going to do this blanket.you are such a good teacher.
Love this pattern. Once I can get some fluffy yarn, I'm going to start on one. Thank you for your great tutorial.

Suz Hussey That's so sweet! I love making them!
Awww thanks!
LOL This yarn is set aside for this project. What other yarn do you have/need?
Thanks!
It depends on the project but like the sweater mostly
If I knit it I would use the same amount of stitches as rows but it would depend on how big you want it .
Do you always skip the peg 1 on every row or just on the cast on?
I tend to but others do include the first peg.
Hi Virginia
What size long loom dis you use for squares?
Thanks
I am unsure as I can't find this loom right now.
Do you prefer to do the sweater way to connect or the whipstitch?
how did you attach the squares? if i sew them together would it leave a seam?

It has been a while since I have done just squares and I can't remember the exact width. You can do a swatch so you can see what width you get. :)
ok :) thank you for response. 👍
Loving your videos, is the square you just made all purl or I row knit 1 row purl? Thanks heaps
Thank you. The garter stitch, one row of knit, one of purl.
Will this work on an infinity loom
It should but you might have to adjust the amount of pegs and rows.
What size Loom do you use make your Squares you got on TH-cam for a blanket?
I don't have that loom anymore. I don't remember what size it was however you can use any loom you want to make up squares to but together.
Oh ok Thank you
