    Thank you so much for such great instructions. Always wanted to use these looms and had NO IDEA how they worked. I can knit, and crochet, but had to teach myself by turning the book upside down as I'm left handed. (Same way I taught myself to play Guitar!) But with RA and occasional carpal tunnel (I'm permanently disabled) bothering me on long detailed projects I find this amazingly easy and so simple to do! I love it and your videos. Thanks for helping me to keep my love of arts and crafts alive! I adore Quilting, Cross stitch, and Embroidery too! I'm too young to hang up my yarn and needles yet! (56!) So you have no idea how much I appreciate this! These tears are from JOY! Bless YOU Virginia! Can't wait to get a long loom to go with these as well! I'll be watching all your videos! Muah Dear! I so appreciate this! Suzi

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. It's about finding the right looms FOR YOU. However, I do have an "S" type loom to make 5ft wide blankets but that was a gift. If you need a wider blanket then you can make panels with this one and sew them together. :)

  • @SimplyIntertwined
    @SimplyIntertwined  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, just switch them out or use two different colors at once, depending on the look you want.

    I really like the way you go through things step by step. The counter was a great idea! Thanks for the type. I also will incorporate adding the tail of my slip stitch onto the loom, vs letting it hang,. I started a quilt on a small loom and thought that I could do rows and then sew them together but using the e stitch, it does roll really bad. So I will try it on the larger loom. I want to prevent it from curling, which videos teach a different stitch that will not roll on me. I really appreciate your videos and great explanation

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. The garter stitch helps with curling. You can do smaller squares this way and sew together like you wanted. th-cam.com/video/9hLijHF4B5I/w-d-xo.html

    You can invest in an "S" type loom that should create a wide, adult size panel (blanket). It would be similar to the DA Loom Infinity II loom I have a few videos on but they are no longer for sale. Try CindiWood looms. Or, you can make panels with the biggest loom you have and then sew together.

    What I learned if if you knit a row, then purl a row, then knit a row, then purl a row (repeat this process a few times and it will help). Also, you can "block" the blanket when done, by wetting it and laying it out flat to dry.

    would adding tassels help with the curling you think?

  • @SimplyIntertwined

    Sometimes yes, depending on the yarn and loom you are working with.

    love your videos. do you think this would work as a throw blanket?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how big the person is honestly. You may have to make panels and sew them together. I'm plus size so I would have to but again, depends on the size of the person. :)

      Virginia Galligan i'd need panels myself but it's for my tiny 5 foot grandma lol

    I have the 62 peg loom and just wondering how many pegs do I use for a adult blanket and how many rows do I use?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure what that loom is, is it the one from this video? Most likely you will need all pegs and possibly to make panels and sew together. It can depend on the size of the adult you are making it. The same goes for rows. The best way is to use a tape measure as you work and figure on at least 5-6 ft long. Width almost the same as length, which is why you might need to make panels.

    • @tpuglas1474
      @tpuglas1474 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Virginia Galligan yes it is the same one as in the video. my husband is 6' 4 tall.

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say you definitely need to make panels and sew together then unless you have a bigger loom designed to make blankets like an "S" shaped, infinity type one. Keep a row counter next to you to make sure you make all the panels the same length.

  • @lovemybabysis

    Can you use this same method for a blankent for an adult size blankent?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but you may have to sew panels together to make it big enough.

  • @SimplyIntertwined
    @SimplyIntertwined  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @CraftyQT You most likely would have to do it while you are looming the blanket. As I mentioned in the video, you can start with the garter stitch all away across for so many rows, then switch to only doing a certain amount of pegs at the beginning and end of your room. The "middle" of the loom would be a different stitch. Then end the blanket with garter stitch all away across the loom for as many times as you did at the start of the project.

    Hi Virginia, I did get my blanket off and it worked great. I do however have a point in my blanket where I skipped the peg every other time. My question is what if I don't do that? What if I just do all the pegs each time? I am going to add fringe to hide the point but I still have to make one more for my other niece.

    It’s okay . I actually spoken someone in my knitting class yesterday she help me a lot too . I figure it out . It’s coming out really good I’m like half way done . It does take a long time though . Because I have to use different knitting loom and use the same measurement and same size of rolls .

    If I have several strips I want to combine to make a large blanket how do I attach them together?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can "sew" them together either with a plastic needle that comes with some loom knit kits or use a crochet hook. If you have a big enough loom you might be able to place loops back on and attach panels that way. Check out my "Joining Squares" video for the idea: th-cam.com/video/sCRhhlJnMug/w-d-xo.html

    how do you cast off the odd ball stitch at the end ? and is there a way to bind off the knitting with out using a crochet needle ?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      steffy2385 Usually a crochet hook helps and as for the "odd ball" it should cast off fine with the others.

    Virginia I love ur videos on loom knitt I watch them over and over sometimes I get it sometimes I don't I was wondering how u make a baby blanket on a round loom I don't have a long one.

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't on the size of the round loom. Like is it a Knifty Knitter loom? With round looms you sometimes need to make panels and sew together to get the width/length you want.

    do you have a trick to keep the yarn from twisting when you use to strands?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I use a yarn ball winder and wind the two skeins into "one" where I can have both strands together easier, I hope this makes sense.
