Bro I'm really digging your content and I appreciate your expertise man keep up the good work knowledge is power if u can't expand my mind you are wasting my time 💯 and sir every time I watch your channel my horizons are broadened
Well. I am more a meat and potato guy. But I do appreciate the effort taken to make this production. That’s a lot of work. Right on time too. I am removing the back seat of my Silverado to make a bed/ storage / sub box. 6th order is on my list. Was thinking of running a 10” SKAR, since I just bought it. I have 1400w single channel for the sub and another 800w 4 channel to cover the surrounds. Depending on the total dimensions and space needed for the ports to breathe I may be upping to a 12” so I can follow this build closely. Nothing worse than a dud instead of a thumping line of bass after doing all the install work and investing time and money. Thanks for showing up at the right time man. Waiting, patiently. 😉
Hey Budget Bass Head, what is your opinion of a passive bandpass box? Basically a large ported box with a passive radiator seoerating the driver from the port. I think this could give you the fidelity of a sealed enclosure with tuned low end extension at the cost of space.
Does shape of the enclouser matter? I would like to play with a 6.5" sub and try a 6th order. But it would have to be wedge shaped for behind my truck seat
I’m building 4 of the vxf 12’s in a mini truck with 6wheels . First time watching your channel subbed . Excellent way you put your video together. I know those folks in the meeting was not talking bout a 6th order 😂. We as a family are working on making videos and I know you have some time In yours. We appreciate the work you put into it . I’m subbed looking forward to goin back and checking out other vids
You might be able to advise me. I had built a 2.1cu. box tuned to 35hz for 2 8's. In my SUV my box(subs up/port back) was very strong 30-50, but lacking 50-80 by a bit. After modeling a 6th order conversion I decided to add the second chamber. My question is, can I face the port for the high tune side towards the front of the car? Let the lows bounce off the back and the upper bass right there coming at me?, Or should I face all the ports towards the back/front in the same direction? Any suggestions/thoughts?
Well I tried it out. Didn't work out with the high port facing the front, low port to the back. BUT it worked very well with the ports facing side to side. Ended up adding a third Sub and facing both ports in the same direction (normal).
Bose uses this design. I own the Acoustimass 5 Series 2 system and the bass module has two 5.25 inch woofers inside of a 6th order bandpass box. The only difference between your design and Bose's design is there's a flared ported common chamber the ported woofer chambers fire into before exiting to the room. The Acoustimnass 5 series 1 bass module had the ported woofer chambers fire directly into the room which didn't sound very good and didn't have good bass extension. That's why Bose added the front common chamber to the Series 2 bass module with a large flared port which helped lower the bass extension and smooth out the sound
How much for you to send me a detailed list of measurements to what I need to cut everything to ? It's for a NEP AUTHORITY 12. I would like it tuned to 25 and 60. Please let me know 🙏 🙏 .
Your videos are an excellent source of valuable info, thanks! Suggestion: I listen to a lot of videos at 1.25x - 1.5x speeds. The background music is funny at those speeds😂
When you see it in person you'd know its legit. I loaded mine with two VXF-12s 1.75cu.ft/chamber; after displacement. And it metered a 143.5 from the trunk. Video coming soon.
Just wondering if you have ever seen or used kicker subs in a 6th order? I also have two so I would be looking at a dual chamber most likely, I was just curious about the efficiency of the much different cone shape and much smaller basket profile or if it wasn't at all. Thanks so much for the vid!
Hi everyone noob question here. I want to upgrade my stock front speakers without an amp in a 2003 lincoln town car. Have a pioneer head unit 13w rms x 4. Would the Infinity reference be louder and clearer than stock? They are 93db sensitivity. Also they are 3 ohm and im concerned if the factory speakers are 2 ohm it would not be louder. Thanks. Also doing a Skar 12" 600w rms ported sub and 800w mono amp
Your main concern is going to be the impedance rating of the head-unit. Most car radios are rated 4-8ohm loads. But please check 'Your" head unit specs. A 3ohm load 'could' pull too much current and blow some fuses; so be a bit careful. other than that, your speaker sensitivity rating seems great. And which Skar did you buy?
Got the Infinitys Installed and they are much better sounding than stock. Also you can turn the head unit volume up more without distorting the speakers therefore they are louder.
im currently working on my 6th order box now and when i build and glued them together i had an error measurement on the port width approximately 3 to 5mm, is it ok or my box are gonna sound bad?
Hey bud always tune into ur vid. I’m from Trinidad and I have the resilient sounds gold 12. And based on the specs the speakers is an excellent candidate for 6th order band pass. Would u mind sharing some ported or 6th order enclosure specs for the speaker
Okay something I've been wondering as you really piqued my interest in a 6th order. Could you use aeroports for a 6th order as a way to reduce the size? Like could you use aeroports to reduce displacement?
When calculating port sizes it does not matter if you use a slot Port or an aero port. The amount of "air volume" is still the same. However using arrow ports does reduce displaced space, because of the thin material most aeroports are made of and when using a slot port or a vent you are using much thicker wood material which does take up more space.
BudgetBassHead in that case, looks like I shall soon be doing a 6th order with a Skar VXF 12 lol! Only problem is trying to come up with a design as I don’t have a computer at the moment (haven’t really had a need for one).
Sixth order band pass for beginners that's a oxymoron isn't it but great video my man I'll be looking at SketchUp to build a box for my 15-in Harmony monolith being pushed by the wolf room beast that's good for ripping the soles out of every sub that I connected to
Well, seeing as how you shouldn't even be trying to design a 6th order enclosure without a subwoofer box calculator, most box calculators can calculate designs based on multiple drivers. All you gotta do is input how many drivers you are using and it will calculate the enclosure dimensions accordingly.
That video production is nice but there way to many white ppl in it 🤣😂🤣😂🤣, what going on here? One dude was wearing a sweater tied around his neck. I was laughin my ass off, great stuff 🤣
Whoa! I'm totally blown away by the production in this video. What a great new vibe for an already informative channel. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for compliment.
Super impressed with the production of this video... Nice work.
Glad you like it!

Awesome editing bro. Nice video.
Thanks 🤘
Ready to see part 2. This is my favored style of enclosure
Glad you enjoyed it.
was there ever a part two?

You may be better off with dual passive radiators in a sealed enclosure. At least from my experience.
Does shape of the enclouser matter?

Yep these videos take a lot of time to produce. I'm just thankful you guys appreciate them.
Please shed some light on parallel tuned vs series tuned

Its really up to you. It's good to have a loading surface, but not necessary .

Love your videos!! I have a XLM2 12' in my home powered by a Crown 4000. I would be willing to pay for 6th order box specs. Thanks

What software do you use to get your tuning before you throw it in SketchUp
Binge watching your channel. U like that skar 2x12 prefab? Looks legit but I'm skeptical it's actually 4 cubes and 32 hz.

👍 Bass head certified. Imma be installing 2 12" Audiopipe BDC2s and a Skar Marine 1500w @ 1 ohm. Should beat up my 03 Town Car pretty good

I really don't think you'll hear an audible difference. However, if it was an inch or more.... thats a big mistake.
@@BudgetBassHead oh thanks bro! i finished my box already and it sounds so good
I live in Florida... I need help building a fourth or sixth order box with 6 Skar VD8 D4s 1ohm and a Skar T-2000.1D RMS amp 4000 watts.
