Dolma! That’s exactly what a similar dish is called in traditional Bengali cuisine! It must have traveled with the Mughal court to Bengal in the 15th century. We use a short gourd instead of green peppers. The stuffing can be meat, seafood or vegetables.
    Fascinating how food travels....🙂

Yes I think that too it is fascinating. And as for know recipes travel all around the world in seconds to meet new people. We are in a way global kitchen

@@TFT What would be answer for "dolma" in Greece? BTW, dolma in Bengal is predominantly done with "potol" (pointed gourd).

It's actual origin comes from Iranzamin. Then it was spread to neighboring regions pre-ottomans, and then it became known to the modern world by it's turkish name after ottomans (even though the official and court language of ottomans was farsi)

Made this yesterday. Although i bought the wrong peppers... (i always buy the wrong stuff :) I used the pointy red kind, divided them in 3 pieces and filled them. It still tasted really good! Thank you for the great recipe, i will be making this again (with the right peppers).

Here in Greece, we make it too, but without meat. Some people make it with meat, though. We use all kinds of vegetables, such as tomatoes, eggplants, red and green peppers, we even stuff onions! I always knew that, but everytime I watch your videos, I get more and more sure, about our common things,as countries. May you be always happy and creative.Love and greetings from Athens, Greece. 😊

Hi This's Renu from NZ.Again this is an easy recipe to make. Thanks for sharing your way of making it. I make a very similar recipe but using "Paneer" or Indian cottage cheese, instead of minced meat. Also, I do not add sauce to the stuffed capsicums. I loved your style of making this dish. Sometimes I use Tomatoes instead of Capsicums to fill the filling.

Hi renu 🙋🏻 I have never tried paneer with this recipe. I wish to but Doesn’t it melt when it cooks? Maybe it needs a special kind for the dish. Hope you try this way too

Hi, Renu here. No, Paneer does melt. And we add in boiled potatoes, masala rice and sometimes flattened rice powder to make the binding stronger. But I will surely try your rcipe with sauce and all.....but may be vegetarian version of it. Actually I liked the style of ading sauce to it. It's something new and I will try it out. Thanks.@@TFT
