606X Spin Up | 3600 RPM Explanation

  • Here is the explanation. Enjoy.
    Keep in mind, this is for teams without access to high-end machinery or large amounts of time. This method is definitely not the best way to do it, but we found it was reliable enough for everyday use.
    It was also very easy to make, perfect for teams on a time crunch or teams who don't want to spend a lot of time making 3600 rpm mounts.

      @@606X The thing is I attached the fly wheel to the high strength axle and a 12 high strength gear which connected to a 60 tooth gear that is connected to a low strength axle which is the driven gear. Sorry for that. When I attached that motor to the low strength axle gear, the flywheel does not move which means there is no torque. Should I change the flywheel axle to a low strength axle? Will that fix it? Or should I directly put the motor to the flywheel?

    • @606X
      @606X  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sripadsirikonda9213 there is probably lots of friction in the flywheel system, leading to it not having a lot of torque.
      The best bet is to check alignment of bearing flats, and making sure that all axles spin freely by hand.
      This will ensure that your 60:12 gear ratio will have enough torque to spin the flywheel.

      Much more efficient friction and power wise, probably spins up faster although I can’t say for sure. 3600 rpm is very convenient because the next highest possible ratio (3600 rpm is somewhere inbetween 5:1 and 6:1) is not possible for the motor to reach very easily but 3600 rpm works. Still don’t know if it’s worth doing this to your poor motors but idk.
