heads up those 15 tooth gears y'all used are discontinued, so if a judge recognizes them they might dq. They almost dqed us, but it was a new and not very popular rule so they let it fly.
What is the swivel joint screws that you use in a lot of the moving components that look to be attached to stand offs. Our team can not find anything like those in the vex v5 materials? Those would be very helpful to our design?
Unrelated to the intake but I wanted to ask how you got the shooter of your robot and such angled so nicely. I know their are angle pieces, gussets and hinges and probably other ways you can angle things but it looks like a lot of your structure just involves shaft collars, screws/couplers, spacers, and standoffs. Did you just use these to angle the top portions of your robot? I've never seen this done before and I'm relatively knew to robotics and thought it was interesting, also would you consider a video going over general structure/chasis of your robot or of robots in general?
yep! by using shaft collars, we are able to achieve non-standard angles by using triangles with custom lengths on each of the sides. By changing the lengths of the sides of the triangles, we are able to adjust the angles of all the mechanisms on our robot. The shaft collars act as vertices of the triangles because of their ability to rotate as well as attach standoffs to them. Generally, the same can be done with C channels to form triangles to get custom angles as well. Many teams use this to get desired angles on flywheels, roller mechs, etc.
@@606X Wow that's a really cool way to structure a robot. I wasn't even aware screws could fit through shaft collars before I saw your robots structure. Unfortunately it's too late for me to make much use of this info with my current robot though I am using it with my pneumatics and end game now. Thanks for the great videos man.
Why is it so easy for your robot to pick up disks using 2” wheels onto almost a vertical polycarbonate? We always get stuck at the around 80 degree angle.
try reducing the initial angle of the ramp, and moving the first stage of the intake further forward from the ramp. We found that these two changes helped a lot for us
@@606X Yes, I agree, but then the length of the robot has to increase. Your 2" flex wheels almost touch the polycarbonate. I feel something else than the two factors you mentioned also plays an important role.
This is our judges interview presentation
Wait you can give people video links during interviews and stuff? Or like show them the video?
No we were kidding
Been struggling with our intake for a week and nobody is willing to make such a helpful vid thank you so much!
I was experimenting with that kind of tensioner for the floating intake but I couldn’t get it to work. Nice job :)
It is illegal for a vex person to be handsome.

best intake this season ong
Wow, My best friend, Wonderful video dear. I enjoyed watching. Hope to see you soon...
Whats the point of the intertwined zip-ties on the "antenna"? might use something similar for this year.
Smoother sliding when the disc goes along the antennae path
Spacer rollers go crazy
compitition is going to be tough this season...
I appreciate this video so much

@@mingyangxu2948maybe try adjusting banding of the intake downwards?
Could you guys explain how you make your intake floating and how you made sure the chain wouldn't skip?
You got the CAD for it? If so can you give to to me so I can look at it better? I'm Trenton Williams From 19197A, The Technical Titans
Bro is gorgeous
15-tooth sprocket is crazy 💀
What was the reasoning for having the system using flex wheels rather than a chain with the rubber flap things?
more grip, more compliance. the tank flaps don't have the suitable level of grip on the discs we were looking for.
Where did you get the polycarbonate sheet used? I can't find many that are less than 0.070" thinkness. Thanks.

Anyone know what size the grey flex wheels at 5:23 are?
2", 3", 4" from the bottom going up

hey, I noticed that you are aiming the vision sensor down. What is that for?
we were planning to use it for automatic disc sensing. we didn't finish it in time for mall :(
It's so he can look down on his weak opponents lol-zies 😂
you can turn it around tomorrow trust 🙏
We hope so, so many controller problems
how did u attatch those small flex wheels?
very nice build
how did you dye your intake wheels, it looks so clean
we put flex wheels in a pot of boiling water with dye. the flex wheels dyed after 2 minutes
@@606X thank you
What do you use to program?
How did you link the standoffs at ~90 degrees for the floating intake? It looks like a shaft collar?
shaft collar + standoff coupler + standoff
@@606X I didn’t know they had couplers :0
Thank you 🙏
Cool! What inch size flex wheels do you use?
3 inch and 2 inch

What are the Omni wheels under the robot for?

For future people seeing this comment: don't. It's a G4 violation and grounds for event and/or season disqualification
did you dye the 15t sprocket to be red instead of gray?
No they're originally red, dyed to be black
What's ur drive RPM?
360 rpm 3.25” wheels. Our drivetrain video covers this more in depth
is there anything special on the poly carp to make it less frictioned?
Sanded with 800 grit to make it smooth
oh thanks, how much effect does that have on the friction?
@@46bvexrobotics65 it's smoother than regular polycarb. i can't really quantify how much but it does feel better.
