Laughing bc I ordered my MYLR in Jan ‘22 & took delivery in Sep. As an “All In Roth” investor, I’m fine with whatever price differences have ensued. I’m good with Elon replicating Henry Ford’s “Model T” strategy to now corner the EV market. Power on Tesla & let’s hold back at least 5%, ok?

Nice!! I’m sure you are excited. I ordered a Y and it came in 9 days. I love the extra room in the Y but I know what you mean with the 3. Can’t go wrong you will love it. As a “grown up” there hasn’t been anything that gets me so excited I can’t sleep, but the days before my Y came in I hardly slept with how excited I was. It was definitely the night before Christmas feeling like when I was a kid 😂😂.

Just bought a Model Y and prefer it over the Model 3, you can carry more stuff with a Model Y in basically the same footprint with little range hit overall.
And practically the same amount of power. The Model 3 Performance 0-60 is 0.4 seconds faster than a Model Y Performance, it's basically a wash.

Naaaa, With a (long range) of 570 miles and 40 to 50 bucks to fill up (once a month) at 3 to 5 minutes, not 20 minutes or 20 hours , I'll keep my jaguar XJl. 41 thousand dollars, its paid off and a full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make.
I bought my red model 3 RWD last month from existing inventory. it was discounted by almost 5k. and I got 6 months of free supercharging with 3 months of full self-driving.
I would go for a 3 as well. Wow that drop is crazy!

The tesla model s plaid was 160k last year and now 85k. Model 3 is 20k. Biggest cost of owning a tesla is depreciation. Every average joe in the world has one now, its over saturated. Talk about depreciating assets at a historic rate. People don't realize a car thats depreciating that bad is not a good thing. What will it cost 3 years from now?

@@user-my4xu4gf1zit's not depreciation they are reducing costs and passing them on to the consumers every single company would do the same if they weren't forced to sell through dealerships that only exist to rob the customers. Every single car would cost probably 10k less minimum if they used teslas model of sales. And overall teslas retain more value than gas cars because they aren't wearing themselves out (other than the batteries that last a long time and are under warranty until 100k miles) and you can trust buying a used one much more because it's easier to know the maintenance schedule was kept when there is very little maintenance required.

I drove a model 3 and Y 2 days ago & have been fighting with the devil & angel on my shoulder LOL. The Y is the better deal but the 3 is so slick! Also, the $7500 is NOT a refund! You have to owe $ to take advantage

Yes, I think it’s $2,500 rebate for California. And you get $500 from Edison. California state taxes…I don’t know about that. Tesla should find out and educate people about it more.
It's not about you have own any money after payment taxes. if you pay more than $7500 taxes you will get the full refund.

My parents got a model y and 3 a couple years ago, and they are amazing. I would strongly recommend the model y long range, because if you are willing to spend a bit more money, you could get so many more miles with the long range and much more room in the model y.
I love my model 3 and still love it, but ordered model Y 😮

Even with the prices going down, most people finance and when looking at your monthly payment, the cost of a Tesla is the same as it was 2 years ago when rates were lower.

Just remember the tax credit is a credit and not a refund. The credit really doesn’t bring down the MSRP.

If you owe taxes, it could be crazy beneficial.

So I drive a 2018 Tesla model 3 and so my opinion based on my purchase is biased, as I am absolutely thrilled to be the owner of a Tesla model 3 L/Range dual motor with FSD. So for the money, a Tesla model 3 is the best value, as few people need the larger capacity that you get in a model Y.

We went into Tesla last weekend to test drive a Y. We went home and ordered a 3. I liked the size of the Y, but I definitely think the 3 looks better.
I’ve had a 3 for a while. It drives smooth like a Mercedes but the interior is like a Poland spring bottle. Comment was 6 months ago, wondering if you feel the same now that you probably have had it for a minute.

Well. I personally would pick the model Y because you get more range, more room, faster acceleration, stuff like that. (For base model). And it’s more expensive but not by too much. However I think the model 3 looks much nicer than the Y. I think the Y is the ugliest Tesla. It’s not terrible looking but it’s not pretty. I love my current model 3 but I think I’ll switch to a Y this year

Just bought a model 3 performance. Last year they where around 60k+ and now they’re like 50k and with the tax credit and calif rebate the car comes to 40k.
My model 3 got totaled out for a dent in the fender. Looking a new model Y was cheaper. I went with the performance because it seemed the best of both words. The size of a Y but it sits lower with the larger tires giving it a little more spotter look like the model 3.

Go with the model Y! The extra space is definitely necessary! Also hatchback is great… And the seat for the model Y is much more comfortable. You’ll be glad you did it!
I worked with Tesla and got a M3 LR with all the upgrades I wanted and it came in under $55k so the $7,500 tax incentive is in play. I don't care for the Y chunky look at all. Very happy!
What do you mean worked with Tesla? They don't bargain. And what upgrades are there? Real leather seats? Ventilated seats? Rear climate control? Blindspot monitoring?

Actually, better yet to save your money until you have a more stable job. Meanwhile, more Tesla models are coming and savings from enhanced manufacturing will be passed down as discounts. The federal incentives aren't going away soon either. Plus, you'll get a newer car.

Y ordered the model y. It has more cargo space, more space for camp 🏕️ mode and sits higher while still maintaining great handling.
The y has the hatch and the 3 has a trunk. For me personally that is the deciding factor. I’m leaning towards the y extended range

Just picked up base model 3. Msrp of 44,000 discounted to 40000. And 7500 off in tax. I live in SoCal so awd is not needed. Base model is still faster than my Audi s3.

The white seats are lovely! A buddy that has a model 3 told me not to pay extra for them. Instead get white seat covers for $300, and use the savings elsewhere. The original seats will remain “new” and you’ll still get your white seats.
My wife and I have had them all. I’m on my 3rd MP3. I would definitely go with the 3 over the Y if you are on the fence! I’ve realized that I’m just a car person. The wife has a MXP, so we have a good combo

If you have a family, get the Y Performance. The Y has more interior and cargo space than an X5, and it's a rocketship

Just ordered the Y last week. With the incentives and price reduction, it was the most affordable SUV in its class. I much prefer the Y to the 3 🤷🏼♂️

I own a 2018 model 3 and for the longest time thought it looked better than the model y but since ordering a performance model y I’m not so sure.
Model 3. Total out the door....$34,000. With $7, 500 tax credit. So much big bang for your buck on the rear wheel, LFP batteries( charge to 100% as much as you want). So much acceleration on this base model. I've tried the performance and you honestly don't need that falling from a roller coaster ride everytime you want to accelerate( overkill).
I hear people say you can go into the settings and change even the low range model 3 to 100% battery as well
But I live in New England where I deal with snow so the only way I can get all wheel drive for the model 3 is going with the performance
@@benjaminbenson8914 Dual motor teslas use lithium ion = recommend charge to 80% to reduce signs of degradation. Base model lithium phosphate = recommend charge to 100% to reduce signs of degradation.

@benjaminbenson8914 Yes they wear out a little faster than lighter gas powered vehicles. The sheer torque and grip this car has compared to gas powered also contributes to shorter tire lifespan. Mind you this is anecdotal evidence i'm telling you based on my experience and other Tesla owners. Take a deep dive via internet to get a scientific explanation. In the end I don't think you'll see a giant difference in tire lifespan for normal driving.

Model Y Long Ranges under $55k and Model 3 Performance are selling faster than Tesla can produce them. The standard range Model 3 and any Tesla model over $55k, are sitting lonely on Tesla lots.
The SR model 3 is only 6k less than LR, with much slower speed, less range, RWD vs AWD and less speakers? I think for anyone considering model 3 right now, they should go with LR or P.
Standard M3 is a great value, and equipped with the LFP battery.
Jay Leno recently did a video on the new model 3, and had the Tesla chief designer's talking about it. At $39,000, it's not a bad price, plus, a $7500 tax break

Model 3 RWD LFP battery is such a good deal. Charge at 100% anytime versus 80-90% in Y, or X. Smaller battery means no need to go wall mount but mobile.
Yes, it is a really good sale. I picked up a brand new 2023 Model Y Performance for 45k out the door with 7 K discount and 7,500 EV instant rebate off. That's like the price of a upgraded Toyota Highlander. Great deal on last year's inventory clearance sale.

Ev tax credit isn't a direct discount on the pricing of the car.
The majority of middle-class workers are not owing the government $7,500 in taxes at the end of the year to fully benefit from the credit. It is a non-refundable tax credit, meaning you don't get that money paid to you.
I'm glad you posted this. So many people don't know or understand this.
It's perfect for middle class contractors and business owners, that's the reason that I'm getting one.
If you don’t make enough to have a big enough tax liability in order to take full advantage of the $7,500 tax credit, you got no business buying a car this expensive.
Realistically, filing single with no dependents you only need around 55k income in order to have the EV tax credit offset your liabilities, thus getting all of your federal withholding refunded that year.
Bought a blue model y. The performance y didn’t qualify for the tax credit.
I wonder if Tesla goofed up on that. The Model 3 Performance qualifies, so I don't know why they didn't lower the Model Y Performance to the $55k threshold.
Go with the y. The model 3 rides low and you can barely see what’s happening in front of you.
Two years ago, i was ready, but i had to wait a year for my former lease to end... All the while watching the prices rise out of my reach. Now they cost less than they did 2 yrs ago (if you factor in inflation and the tax incentive). I ordered a white-on-white Model Y Long Range a week ago. Cool grandpa car, huh? 🙂

Picked up a model Y and am pretty happy. Now model 3 standard range has an lfp battery which is superior
I got a model y after renting a 3 for a year. The model y I feel handles SO much better, all the spaces are much bigger and deeper so storage is on a different level and regen breaking is even better on the awd y vs the rwd on the short range 3. Y is absolutely work the price gap.
I feel like I overpaid on my used 2022 long range. I accepted the deal at $36,500 and it had 24,000 miles on it roughly
I like how people easily cut $7,500 but don’t add $6k taxes, title, plates etc or another $6k interest fee total in case of financing

@@wtdudley05 when you buy a car you pay taxes around 6k, then you have 7,500 tax return, so basically you save 1.5k
That’s not how the tax credit works. You only benefit from it if you owe on taxes, the credit will cover it. They don’t just pay you $7,500 during your filing.

A buddy of mine who is well off and obsessed with teslas has owned every model and likes the model 3 the best. The x and y didn’t handle as well and the s was a close 2nd.

Manufacturing prices are coming down and they’re passing it on to consumers. Except cybertruck, they are charging a premium for that but you can preorder a $60,000 variant.
Make you check to ensure you can actually qualify for energy tax incentive as the requirements are slightly changing

I think range is overhyped, after a certain range point..it really doesn’t matter when you have home charging every night and with super charger networks.
Model 3 just did a Demo test and the Model Y unfortunately did give me enough room to stretch my legs but when I sat in the 3 I was able to go extend my leg out all the way so that sold me 🤷🏽♀️
The reason for the price being slashed is because they can’t shift the inventory and the problem with price cuts is the impact on margins, Tesla have problems with those as it is. I suspect the Q1 earnings are going to be even poorer than expected.
Why does anyone care. Just buy it and drive it. It’s a great car. Which ever you choose.

Just got my 23’ model y performance and I much prefer it over the model 3. The model 3 doesn’t have nearly as much room or space, it feels crammed.
The model y is the perfect size for a daily driver as well other things you need to carry around. I don’t have kids but when I do that will come in handy.
My 2024 Model Y long range was 39k out the door.
Either car is nice. Neither car is my ideal.. I would love a 3 with a hatch. But if I were to pick, this round I want comfort and practical over sport and efficiency. The Y.

In a straight line it is fast, but not the fastest car in the world, maybe seventh or sixth. The Dodge demon 170's 0-60 is 1.66 seconds. Plaid is not even top 60 in the Nurburgring, it's really a one trick pony. It's a 0-60 car.
Prepare yourself for range anxiety, broken doorhandles, broken screens, and expensive tires.
Beats relying on a combustion engine in my opinion. Personally feel like there’s more maintenance and problems associated with them then an electric drivetrain.
And 20k when the batteries need new ones, after 70k miles , and when the electric is out, good luck being stuck somewhere

Was in the F.D for 3.5 years, when these Teslas catch on fire, over 6 hours to put out, while we have to waite for Hazmat, another 5 hour clean up. Just got my model 3 long range last month and it’s honestly been such a great experience. I personally don’t like how the model y looks but the space inside the model y is insane. Amazing if you drive around your family constantly or go to Costco 😭

I bought the model y standard range . I liked better over model 3 because of its cargo space.
Still waiting for my Cybertruck. Trimotor w/ FSD. Reservation numbers is in the mid 300k. Live in Texas so hopefully can get delivery in 2024 based on model and region priorities? 🙏

go for Y...I bought both in 2020 because I was undecided, and drove both for a week, then flipped the other for a 15k profit. The Y is by far more comfortable in the long run with the extra space. the 3 feels a little too cramped up.
Just got the MYP a week and a half ago. The car is awesome! 11sec crossover for just over $50k.
LRM3 White/White FSD… After a year, I still enjoy it. Just wish I could use CarPlay…

I got model 3 for $36,200 brand new last September (crazy sale!) . Unfortunately model y didnt have as good sale as model 3 . I wish I could waited to get the y. I love how the 3 look but its too small from inside and I like to set high in general.
Model Y Long range now $37,500.
