Thank you for standing up to women who shame us for suffering. It took me 6 months of stand up to my therapist who kept telling me I needed to “try harder” to befriend my “rage outs”. I felt like I was suddenly crazy and this woman, who had no symptoms when she had menopause, made me feel like I was failing in controlling my anger/irritability when it was something more physiological. 🤯🤬😡

32:58 Thank you for this reaction!❤ I've been doing sports all my life and I eat healthier than most people I know. I follow a balanced diet that avoids extremes. I always thought I could manage my health as best I could. There are some things I can't change, and I've lived with certain symptoms, some for the last 10 years. I used to think, "That's okay, it's not that bad. My mother has it worse." But since turning 40, I've been very surprised by the significant changes. I can no longer accept doctors saying, "That's normal!" Having to pee 20 times a day is not normal! Etc.

I just turned 48, and had my last kid at 40, and the changes started 3 years later that I began to notice. I really thought was going crazy bc of the brain fog, like couldn't articulate to communicate, was so frustrating 😢
Then came the frozen shoulder, the insomnia, night sweats 😓 The last to come was the horrible depression, even started to think that my kids would be better off without me.
Even though my periods still are super regular, I began to have migraine and spotting during ovulation time. When I told my OBGYN, he looked at me like I was crazy.
By the grace of God a video turned out about perimenopause, by pure curiosity watched it and it made click to all my symptoms, checked all the boxes. Doctors like you gave me so much hope and peace of mind, the information and tools, now I'm doing so much better. God bless you 🙏🏼❤️

Everyone is blaming my issues on my previous deployments and the deployment related stress, however i have a strong feeling my hormone levels are messed up leading to my issues. I struggle with terrible sleep, migraines, extreme tiredness, feeling sad and feeling hyper sensitive. I pressed my GP for HRT and the first one made all the symptoms worse which was an oral mix of estrogen and progesterone . Now they changed it to just progesterone with a little implant in my arm and tbh im at day 10 now but only had 1 migraine day since and felt a bit positive for the first time in years. Not sure its my holy grail yet but thanks to your videos i at least feel confident enough to advocate for myself ❤

I'm 45. I had a mental breakdown in January. I started having panic attacks doing anything. I was told I'm borderline bipolar depression. I had a hysterectomy at 41. Kept my ovaries so I have no idea about periods. I was put on lamotrigne and buspar. But I still panic and cry on a dime. I actually don't sweat I just overheat. I literally cried watching you say I'm not crazy. Dry mouth dry eyes. I have lupus diagnosed at 42. I'm constantly using lotion. God I need this.

Totally dismissed by my ob about my symptoms and was told I needed a sexual therapist and regular therapist. I was appalled because HE defined menopause by hot flashes. He also said it was due to my thyroid. I don’t get hot flashes that often nor do I get night sweats on the regular due to I am on gabapentin for rls.

@@queenblue9988 Hi, from the reading i have done menopause can have huge effects on your sexuality. With your hormones falling off a cliff your sex drive can be nonexistent. Vaginal dryness can cause extreme pain during intercourse . Lube can help , but estrogen receptors are everywhere including your bladder. Tissues of the bladder and vagina can thin and weaken causing something causing genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Over time this can become VERY painful because it also affects the labia . Sitting and walking( or riding a bicycle ) can become very painful . My alternative medicine doc gave me a script for topical vaginal estrogen. This is a LOW dose topical estrogen that is safe even for women with estrogen positive cancer. Odds are you don't need a sex therapist ( or any therapist) you need a physician who is educated about menopause. After the damage caused by the Women's Health Initiative it can be hard to find a doc who has been correctly informed about menopause. Best wishes.

And you are right about the hysterectomy thing. My doctor offered me a hysterectomy for bad periods at age 37, and I told him no way. I told him I don’t have cancer and surgery should be a last resort. Then I went online and found support groups, started researching on my own, changed my diet, changed my exercise, and started supplementing and my symptoms did improve, my periods became more regular

So glad I came back to this video and read your comment. I am almost 53. I have struggled with fibroids for about five years I only have four but the biggest wanna sit in on my uterine lining which is caused heavier periods, iron deficiency anemia which leads to shortness of breath iron infusion therapy I’ve even had to have blood transfusions. I have scheduled a hysterectomy for July 28, however my cycles have been better this year and seems like I should be headed to menopause soon so I’m thinking about canceling the surgery.

Thank you. Just found your video. I'm 53 and was wondering what's wrong with me. I thought that at 50 I was automatically going to be in menopause
So I was confused when my period didn't stop. No one would ever explained anything and it was scary. Also thought I was having a heart attack so I got checked but they said my heart was ok then you said heart palpitations. I was so relieved. All of the other symptoms make sense now too. I was scared I was falling apart. Now I know that I'm not dying. The same thing happened to me as a preteen. Nobody told me what was going on with my body before my cycle hit. I send you much ❤️❤️❤️ and gratitude.

I am almost 40, a lot of weird shit has been happening and I don't have health insurance till the first of the year I've been so freaking scared and confused. But this video has helped calm me down. I'm still going to the Dr as soon as the insurance goes through. But This , most of all what's in this video is what's going on and with no one to ask or talk to about it. I've just been freaking out.

First, I am so glad I came across your channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Fatigue is very big and I already have a inflammatory process in my body with Ulcerative Colitis (IBD) that makes me very tired. I have worse depression and anxiety. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 48 shy a month of 49, so I was probably already starting Peri menopause. Now in Peri and 54 years old going on 55 in a couple of months, I still have me period. I have very increased rage, breast tenderness, wired feeling a week before and can't sleep, heart palpitations and seen a cardiologist, stinky sweat, hot flashes, etc. I cannot take HRT because during a severe flare in my colitis, hospitalized and got a DVT blood clot and on blood thinners. So not hormone replacement. I really suffer with daily things because of it. I used to be a woman that ran to the gym, worked out all the time, and good health. I know to not have the energy. I do walk an hour a day with my dog. Thank God for my dog. It really does help, but it is not enough to fight fat in the waist that I did not have before.

Ladies, definitely check with your insurance company about coverage. I see a provider in my state who offers similar services…she gives me the appropriate documentation to submit a claim, and my insurance reimburses me for half the cost of the visit. My labs are also covered.

I try my best not to get on synthetic hormonal disrupters, or anything chemical in my body!! As well as my 18 year old!! You are a life saver!!!

When mentioned your patient in perimenopause whose migraines totally stopped since starting HRT, that bit made me want to cry. That was me and I can’t tell you how many doctors I went to for my migraines before I went on HRT. Been feeling so great on HRT in my perimenopause journey. I tell everyone of my female friends to find a doctor who will treat them with HRT.

I love your passion! I wish you were near me. For too, long I’ve gone through feeling like there is no hope. I’m finally growing into myself and my symptoms are easing to some degree. I’m in my 50s but have been struggling since my mid 30s . I was diagnosed with endometriosis and now finding out In the last two years that is Not a fact. More then likely it’s been the roller coaster ride of pre-menopause. It has effected my life tremendously. Ive recently found a doctor who cares and actually listen to my concerns. I love her she compassionate. I’m not a candidate for hormonal replacement so we look at the natural approach. It’s not easy but much more do able now that I understand more of what’s going on instead of being told “nothing is happening it’s all imaginable”. My advice after suffering so long would be Always Advocate for yourself and keep an open dialogue with other women to keep others informative. Be strong 💪 seek out truth and talk to each other.

I am so glad I found you! I turned 40 in April. Between 33-35 I noticed a change in my hair texture, my facial skin started drying and I noticed severe vaginal dryness/painful intercourse with my husband. I thought, “well, welcome to my 30’s”! Then around 35 I started having “flushes” where I’d turn real red in the chest and neck and with time it’s rose up to my face as well. But I don’t sweat with them. At 39 I had a bout of feeling foggy headed, which I didn’t tell anyone about so then it turned into anxiety, which I don’t typically suffer from but it was almost crippling. After I told my mama how I was feeling and had a few good cry’s it leveled out after a day or two. I’ve been more forgetful like leaving my cell phone in public places, twice I’ve done that! I had six cavities at my dental checkup last year. The past year I also started growing peach fuzz on the side of my face! Two months ago I started waking up with severe dry eye and the last couple of weeks I’ve had bouts of heart palpitations. My menses is like clock work as I’m on the pill and have been for years. But it may be heavier one month and lighter the next, which is new this past year. I do see my GYN faithfully each year for a healthy check. But I did contact my GYN and she ordered a TSH and an FSH, my TSH was normal but my FSH was 0.2!!! I have an appt with her Thursday the 15. But in all seriousness, it will absolutely make women feel like we’re going mad! So thank you for talking about it to us and for helping us understand.

@@GoWithin4 hey Janet! I’ve had a couple more bouts of brain fog. But now that I know what it is, I’m not having anymore anxiety. All my other symptoms still exist, but my periods are getting more erratic. I may start a day early or a day late then spot for a day then do nothing for a day then spot again the next day. Real crazy periods. I’m now 41 and a half. Still on birth control and that’s it. Will you let me know how your appt goes? I’m curious since we have the same issues. How old are you too please?

I actually began this journey in my early 30s. Had a blood test and my Dr said the results were clinically normal but she said as a woman my hormones were "upside down". So what looks normal on a test clinically, a skilled Dr will see what your true numbers should be but arent. As it turns out, she was absolutely correct. It does help to see a female Dr that can actually see these numbers and wont dismiss it like most male drs do. As it was in my case.

Thank you so so much. I am 49 been going through a mostly bad perimenopause since 39 and tried talking to anyone in my family or friends about it. I feel like I was in my own because family members would say I'm just too sensitive and friends would say you just need to eat better. Ieat mostly healthy, not overweight and pretty healthy. Only 1 friend would listen and relate to me somewhat but like you said we had completely different symptoms.
I am so happy you put that person in their place for trying to shame other women who wants to seek help for what they know they are experiencing.

Perimenapause is not advocated in Israel and is treated by antidepressants for most simptoms. at 42 I had panic attacks, palpitations, anemia, fainting, shortage of breath, dry mouth, fatigue, arytmia anxiety, sweating, insomania, digestive problems and a lot of others simptoms. Doctors not aware and even don't try to diagnose it. They prescribed me antidepressants and propanalol betta blockers.
