Don't knock the LE until you've tried it. We got our 2021 LE for $34,500. 8 seats, small wheels, skinny tires, no motorized seats or rear lift gate, yet it has all of the safety tech and Toyota's reliability. With all of the weight savings, we consistently get 40+mpg. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for the great review!
We’re looking at the LE too. Are you able to take the center middle seat out? The LE seems to have everything our family needs. Plus we live in Arizona so leather in a 116F summer is out.
@@EdgarLopez-pv8co The 2nd row middle seat pops right out. Underneath it are a couple more cup holders. If you get the spare tire option, you will need to find a place to store the seat. If you do not get the spare tire option, the seat tucks away in the wall behind the 3rd row nicely. And yes, the cloth seats are much more forgiving in the summer heat.

Hi I rent a minivan monthly and decided to try a Toyota Sienna hybrid and it runs like a Lexus. It’s very spacious inside and being a 4 cylinder engine hybrid it gives you lots of power and gas millage. I can drive it from Orlando to Tampa back and forth and the gas gauge stays almost in full. We were looking for a Chrysler Pacifica but Toyota has more space only issue is the auto turn with the key fob and needs a better radio. Other than that very happy with the Sienna 2023.
I own a 2021 Sienna and the non removable second row is a non-issue. We never ever need more space than what we get with the third row down and you can push the second row SOOOO family back to make a limo-like space. We pull 34 mpg year round in the dead of winter and heat of summer without even trying.
The Toyota Sienna is an excellent family vehicle, especially for young families. We bought ours in 2005 which we still use for extended family trips. After travelling ~210,000 Km , the drive train remains bullet-proof and the van is as highly practical as the latest generation.
My 2010 LE still rocks it. 187K miles. I dislike the loss of cargo capacity and non removable 2nd row but will probably buy one in a year or two. I’m a 60 something man who drives alone 90% of the time #lovethatversatility

Not being able to remove the second row seat is a bummer because that is a lot of space. Mini vans are where it’s at if you have kids or just want something with a lot of enclosed cargo space. They can do everything a SUV can and sometimes more. You didn’t talk about the tow rating in the video though. Some of us like to tow trailers with our vans.
Sienna's are selling for well above msrp in my town if you can find one. I purchased a 2023 Odyssey Touring for $3300 below msrp. No way I'm paying msrp or higher for any car.
I had a 2020 limited awd v6 and I got one of the first 2021 hybrid limited awds in Canada. It's not perfect, but it does so many things well. It's amazing on gas, 700-900km to the tank in city driving depending on tires, very comfortable to drive, looks good, AWD system is weaker in the hybrid but easily handles snow with blizzaks on. I hate the media system. The blu ray player was so simple and easy to use. The plastic wheels are a joke on a $50k+ vehicle and the halogen interior and reverse lights are silly. If you have more than 2 kids or go on trips, a van is a must and this thing beats the Pacifica, Odyssey and Carnival overall. Sure, the Odyssey has more pep and a better interior but it's terrible on gas, has no 360 camera, no shifter and no awd. Pacifica is a Chrysler so roll that dice if you want. Same with Kia.
Kms per tank is a meaningless figure. You could have a HUGE tank or a miniature tank. Not to mention you could drive like a granny or a lunatic, so your mileage may not reflect real world.
Getting my 2023 next month, after a 9 month wait. Can’t wait! All of the negatives that I’ve seen are more than outweighed by the positives. I don’t “floor it” with my kids, so why would I need to with a minivan. And I would rather borrow a family members truck than have a second row removed, then mess around putting it back in. Sounds unnecessary. Can’t wait for my minivan
@@tinhinnh why not? The brown interior is decent and it has luxury features that are unheard of in the segment. Those luxury features could have been in the GH to justify its potentially high cost
I've been driving a minivan for the past 10 yrs. Recently bought a Camry and boy what a difference. I'm a minivan user for life now. I love everything about a minivan. The only thing I didn't like about my minivan was the poor gas mileage.
Just research pricing of the Sienna if you decide to swap it for a Grand Highlander, considering how hard Siennas are to come by, you just might end up selling it for about what it cost you, which is insane since we're talking about minivans and not rarefied limited edition sports cars. In any case, don't let a dealer lowball you out of the Sienna IF you choose to go down that route.
I’ve had seven sienna vans over the years. I did not want to switch over to the non-removable second row seats. We finally did and I’m gonna be honest it has been a non-issue. The second row slides forward so much. You can still use it as a cargo van but the super slide on the second row that extends back so far is amazing. Don’t let it stop you.
Agreed that sienna is not luxurious but it focuses on safety and reliability. I own this amazing vehicle from 2021 and there is nothing I can complain. Really good car
FYI, even though the second row is stated as not being removable, plenty of videos in TH-cam showing how you can remove it with simple tools and without damage to the car. Under a 5-10 min time to remove. It's just not non tool removable. Just mentioning in case that is a deal breaker for some.
One of the big advantages of the new Sienna, beside fuel economy is that you can get AWD and also equip with a spare tire. The all wheel drive van no longer depends on run-flat tires, which offers lots of possibilities when buying replacement tires.
It all comes down to "What's important to you?". That's it. If gas mileage is your thing, then go with this. But if you're into ride quality, performance (if there' is such a thing in Minivans), and tech, go with the Carnival. If you want something that's been tried and trued, then Odyssey is probably right for you.
The odyssey is a good van, carnival is pretty but it's new in the market and many people don't know to much about it yet. I think all three vans are excellent choices!
I'd put the Ody as a happy "middle ground" between these 2, it has a lot of tech that the Sienna doesn't have (cabin watch+cabin talk, 2nd row screen, and the "magic" second row seating) but still with a V6 a traditional auto and a slightly step behind the Kia infotainment, but while Honda has had a few reliability woes in past years, nothing like the mess Hyundai/Kia has had as a whole company. If you need to constantly combine between hauling stuff and people, the Pacifica with the stow and go 2nd row is where it's at, but that is locked in to the FWD V6 and excludes AWD and the PHEV, IIRC. All 4 vans have something going for them and by themselves(excluding any brand issues) are great products that prioritize slightly different things, the only shame about this is that this segment has been overlooked for bigger SUVs that in the name of higher ride height or some design trend sacrifice practicality and utility, and we're only getting 4 different takes on the minivan, and not more.

I would never buy another Chrysler Mini-Van, I am on my 4th and am waiting now for my 2023 Sienna Platinum to arrive. Compare Toyota quality to Fiat quality :), my 2005 T&C is not the most quality and that was much simpler technology - Honda ? The V6 still has a rubber timing belt, right ? And ya, removing the middle seats would be nice, but what about the air bags ? The Chrysler Hybrid does not fold middle seats cause of the batteries, so need to compare apple to bananas.
I would remove all seats except the one behind the driver, so for childless and dogless me,it would be a deal breaker. It's too much, we all just want a new and improved Mazda5. Not everyone has an army of children with extracurriculars and just want the practicality and convenience, closest thing now is the MB GLB.
As always, shout out the Patagonia and Fjällräven.
Why would they change the minivan to suit a market it wasn’t design for? Some of us do have children and need a van. Go buy something else. Plenty of midsize and small SUVs for you to choose from
Me gusta toyota sienna para wendy
I stiil have a perfectly well running 1998 Sienna XLE (with fake woodgrain), 17 inch tires and the same engine power as the 23 model. ( all seats are removeable and thankfully no power doors). My Van has 276,0000 miles and I'M far from 17!
I just don't want a hybrid, everything else sounds good
You don’t like 35mpg combined?
I think he’s inaccurate on a lot of the ‘features’ - things like full-surround back up cameras, AWD, hybrid, are only on certain high end models. He’s reviewing & showing a Platinum, the top of the top of the line.
The newscast dialect in car reviews is way overused. Just speak normal this isn’t MotorTrend or 10pm news.
Deal breaker for me that the second row cant come out. I clicked off the video :(
How many families have you seen actually removed the second row to haul things around???? None...
Non removable seats deal breaker
Damn, in Europe these are 80k usd!
Wow. Why are they so expensive? I already thought they are expensive here. Especially considering that they were cheaper before covid
@@luperamos7307 We pay import tax that is around 10% of the new price +extra options+transport costs. So import costs + shipment and insurance + dealer commission + registration. It adds up.
No V6, no removing 2nd row seats, no real AWD, no thanks.
Yup the seats are a deal breaker! Wtf. No 4x8 sheet that a Carnival can!
sportheefull size camper
Another 2023 TH-cam had an intercom system for a Platinum
Japans new toyota van is way better this looks like it still has soccer mom cues
one thing i dont like is that huge center consule between the driver and pass . i want to be able to access the back of the van
