Cats can learn by watching other cats, so it's possible Glamour is learning from watching Todd's interactions with the board. Also, Todd is a total love bug. He doesn't ask for food nearly as often as he asks for attention (both for himself and for the other cats).
True, my youngster learned a lot from my older cat, f.e. how to get the clips out of laundry rack! 😸 And many other things too. My senior girl was very clever, and my youngster always watched her closely how to be a cat...She was a bit like Glamour, didn't care for company so much, and would have wanted to have only me and her in the house. Except if youngster or catdad were ill. Then she cuddled with them too, but as soon as they were healthy, she would ignore them again...🐾😸❣️
I wouldn’t be surprised if Glamour already learned button language in secret. Cats are way smarter than we think 🤔 especially older cats. I have 2 18-year-old orange tabbies (from the same litter). They still surprise me sometimes 😂

She knows where it's kept and tries to retrieve it with her paws and rub against it, and is so excited when I pick it up she gets straight into her brushing pose XD It still surprises me. I wish she loved belly rubs too, but sadly not!

So glad to see that Glamour is feeling better. I must say that Todd has completely changed my relationship with my own cats. Not only he can ask for what he wants but how he remembers things, the noise for instance, and how he advocates for his siblings. It really makes me think when I am interacting with my own cats, what are they thinking and what are they trying to tell me. Of the two, only one uses a button and only the one so far but I hope someday to help them learn more and maybe I can see a little into their own minds. That would be awesome.

My boy's black & white, & he has much more white than a tuxedo, but he IS ridiculously sweet & affectionate & devoted.

Love the little stool you have for the kitties. Did one of you paint the picture? I had several little stools around the house to help my fur babies get up and down. None of the stools were as cute. They are all put away now that my house is void of cats. When I move I hope to adopt again, but this time senior cats as my last group mostly survived to 20 years old. I should start to collect the buttons or at least get the starter kit. I so enjoy watching your interaction with your cats. Glamour has the same attitude as my Hanna. That's what I was thinking! When the second "brush" didn't work, he used "belly rubs" to convey the idea. When he realized he could settle for actual belly rubs, he added the "cuddle" to convey that idea. It's all attention, so it's all good. Good enough that he was still thinking about it the next morning!
Glamour wants to use the board too. She was thinking and yawning trying to figure out how to say something more than just happy. Todd is just recapping his earlier experience. Very smart cats
It’s wonderful how you and Todd communicate using the buttons. Please brush Todd all over, not just his back. It can become uncomfortable for Todd having one area brushed repetitively. By moving around his body, tail, neck, cheeks, chin, and belly, it makes brushing much more enjoyable for your cat. You’re such a great cat daddy. 😺

Todd seems to have been asking for the "Deluxe Brush" package today, lol! I suspect the Glamour button presses are intentional. If Todd and other animals have the position sense to do back-foot presses, it seems Glamour would have the ability to position herself for a backend press while being contrary enough to do it her own way. Who knows, maybe it's just easier that way with her arthritis.

I could tell when you stopped brushing, it was too abrupt for Todd. When I brush my boys, they get brushing and pets and scratches and i talk to them, sometimes get treats, but always more pets after I put the brush and down. Its a complete event for them 😊

He did look like he wanted his belly brushed in this video. Maybe “brush/belly rubs” could also mean “brush my belly” sometimes. I love Todd. Our 2 cats are soo mean. We can’t hold them without them growling and biting, we can’t even pet our black one without her biting really hard. It’s soo sad. Because I love cuddling with sweet kitties. 😔 Kitties are my favorite thing about this world. I’m soo happy you are showing how smart they really are. Oh, the cats are so sweet! So adorable of Todd to mention things you did before. And Glamour, I seriously think she presses buttons on purpose- she has said things that made perfect sense almost every time she’s pressed the buttons ❤
I could tell when you stopped brushing, it was too abrupt for Todd. When I brush my boys, they get brushing and pets and scratches and i talk to them, sometimes get treats, but always more pets after I put the brush and down. Its a complete event for them 😊
