      Thanks, I should have Sedative video this Sunday if your interested. It uses similar stuff so if you plan on making these I think sedative is a cool project.

      I will start a social media account for sharing stuff with the community in the future. Not sure when or what platform, but I'll notify subscribers when I do.

    I give you major props for having the bloodborne music in the background . I think maybe if it was lighter it would look good. But thats my opinion! Great job, and how much would you say the whole build costs?

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry for late reply, but the material cost was about 15 dollars for the three vials.

    Well this is going to help me when I start on my Bloodborne cosplay! I Ike that you used instant coffee for the aging, I always felt that was faster and cheaper than boiling a fresh pot of tea.
    The only things I can think of that I'd do differently is use a plastic bottle and have the stopper glued in so there's less risk of spillage if this is a prop that's being carried by a cosplayer.
    I can't wait to see what else you plan on making. Will it always be items like this, or will you branch out to weapons too?

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CrimsBacon
      Yep, I will be making weapons too, however I do make my prop weapons out of wood since I like to swing them around lol. I know it's not the most accessible for people, but I'm sure similar steps can be applied with a thick carving foam. I might try one with foam in the future just to see how it works, but I'm more comfortable with wood carving, so I'm gonna start with that.
      The next video will be on the Dagger from Dark Souls. I know, I know, the Dagger is kind of boring, but I wanted to start with a simple weapon so I could go over the basics of wood carving.
      I will also do functional trick weapons. Blades of Mercy for sure, Saw Spear or Cleaver once I find somewhere to get the right hinge, and Threaded Cane if I have time left for the summer.

    • @CrimsBacon
      @CrimsBacon 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough about the wood, same basic principles should apply to foam and cardboard too.
      Dagger sounds like a good plan. Simple and as a prop, incredibly versatile, it could be used for any Medieval costume.
      Dude if you can figure out how to make a working Threaded Cane you will be the most awesome prop maker on this website!

      Oh the bottles were 50mL Boston Round Bottom Cork Top Bottles. I got three off Etsy for about 5 bucks. You can also try Hobby Lobby to see if they have any.

    Do you happen to have a PDF file of the labels you used? In process of making some of these for my own. I tried using the JPEG version but it was too pixilated to use. I tried using microsoft word to make my own but it's been since the beginning of my high school year since I messed around in word (which has been many years ago) Thanks in advance! 😊

      Yeah I have a pdf, but I'm not sure how to share it? TH-cam comments doesn't let me post downloadable files.

      Sorry for the late reply to this, but I finally figured out how to make my own! I found an apothecary label template online and have been slowly working on one in Photoshop. I made up my vials and they turned out wonderfully! I would've never thought to use wood stain to age the bottles. The only thing I did different was instead of using black spray paint on the cork I used some Citadel shader paint instead since I can control coverage a bit better. I built it up in areas I wanted darker and it looked pretty nice. I also took and carved out a couple chunks out the top to make it look like some of the cork was eaten away by rot. This has been such a fun project for me! I sincerely thank you for posting this tutorial. I have been wanting to make these for so long but didn't have a clue of how to go about doing so where the blood looked realistic and the bottle looked aged. I look forward to seeing more Bloodborne and Dark Souls projects from your channel. 😊

      Oh happy it worked out, sorry I couldn't find a way to post the pdf. And thanks for the tips, but becareful cutting the cork, it might spill if your carrying them around.

    • @samanthaayers6848
      @samanthaayers6848 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      OldHunterUlric It's alright, I needed to figure out how to make the labels anyhow for more bottle projects in the future! I didn't cut in to the cork anywhere but on the very top edges, I didn't want to hack at it too much for fear of it spilling. I hope to make a few more of them since these test bottles came out wonderfully.

      You could just post it to a google drive, and link it here. Links can be posted, since documents can't.

    How do I make the label for the bottle?

  • @guihassan
    @guihassan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry, what material did you use to darken the glass?

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lightly scratched the glass with 80 grit sand paper, then wiped it with minwax wood stain. Left it to dry for about an hour or so and the stain will stick in the scratches making it look a little older.
      I'm not sure how to actually stain the glass, the wood stain only sticks in the scratches. If you try to put the stain on the glass without scratching it, the stain will just wipe off.

    If I don't have a printer, I can draw the paper?

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure but if you do you might want to write on the paper after you coffee stained it. The ink or lead could blead while the paper gets wet. If not you might want to do a few tests to see if it works alright.

    Is there anything else I could use instead of the corn syrup?

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not sure if there are any other things you can use to make it, but you might be able to find fake blood at a Halloween store.
      I did notice that corn syrup tends to crystallize over time, so its probably not the best thing to use, but its definitely the easiest in my opinion.

  • @strawberryjpeg6000

    how do i get my blood though??

    • @oldhunterulric3257
      @oldhunterulric3257  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the dedication to realism, but please do NOT use real blood. Real blood goes bad after a week, corn syrup will at least give you a few years, but if you want something permanent than you can buy fake blood from Halloween store.
