If anything it was way higher in juturna and olg where people could easily make those comments without looking into the band. If these songs were produced like juturna (raw) then opinions on the neg side would change and by produced I mean mixed and recorded

What is it about Circa fans and ranking the albums? Like, it's not a bad thing, but it's pretty much the only band I see people do it with. The only thing I can come up with is that they're all so close in quality, the fans struggles to decide. I don't rank them personally. What I'll tend to do is go "I'm having a 'Juturna' day", or "'Descensus' is the way I'm feeling".
Circa always manages to inspire me and leave me in awe. Constantly progressing their sound and creating beauty with every note they play. There's no such thing as a bad circa song.

I'm surprised to see the harsh criticism of some people and how everyone tries to immediately compare this to either their "roots" or Blue Sky Noise. To me, it sounds like Circa Survive and not much else. It sounds like new ground; maybe less catchy and probably a bit more complex. So complex that I think I don't fully grasp it yet. Which is something I love about Circa and something that happened to me with basically every album or song I heard of them for the first time. Well anyway, I'm excited about the album.
In my opinion (of course it’s an opinion) their most complex album is juturna creatively speaking when it came out there was nothing like it, they used 2 lead jingle parts on guitar to make the rhythm and it was complex as shit. Not that I don’t like this I do, but it still stands that juturna is by far my favorite release by circa but it’s also in my top 3 cds all time for me, with protest the hero -Kezia #1 juturna is 2 tho and 3 idk debatable for me

Kenny Long at first I was skeptical but I think you are onto something. If you look at all of the releases they have very ritualistic themes (to me at least). In Lustration a child (?) is born in a circle of fire from the underworld. Apparently the owl from Rites of Investiture reference the cremation of care and some of the lyrics kind of relate to that as well I guess, I'd have to look into them more. The video for Premonition of the Hex is basically about a cult, and I suppose a hex is occult related as well. And an amulet is thought to protect against evil. Basically if they were going for a concept album I would guess they'd be using occult imagery and themes to convey an overall message. But who knows? I think I saw somewhere else that people were talking about this album being a concept album just based on the song titles are. Very excited for the album to come out!

circa survive has been my favorite band since i first heard juturna, and as far as im concerned, anything these guys touch is gold. awesome song, PLEASE KEEP MAKING RECORDS! you guys are a constant inspiration to a lot of people!
To me this sounds like a bit of a return to the sound of On Letting Go (wailing guitars, that trademark swagger) but with a more optimistic spin and coloured by some of their more recent experimental endeavours (Violent Waves, Descensus). I really haven't heard any obvious traces of Blue Sky Noise in their sound since that album was released; I think that was more of a one-off alt. rock record (epic as it was) - probably the best way to make full use of those heightened production values at the time. Not dissing it at all... I liked the direction for them. I also like this. I can hear some of the ethereal vibes that made Appendage what it was, but there's clearly a lot more going on here too. Juturna is pretty untouchable IMO... as it was, being their debut album, the most raw representation of the band's aesthetic. It's dense as fuck, but if you can figure out what's going on half the time and understand the dissonance then it's one of those recordings that can really just take you out of this world. Not to even mention the musicianship and the pure novelty of the sound... Try to just let Anthony's voice wash over you, keep in touch with the rhythm and pay really close attention to the guitars. It's pretty phenomenal stuff. Btw - this isn't actually the first time we've heard Anthony'a falsetto; it was pretty prominent in OLG. Anyway, just wanted to give my two cents on my favourite band (back and forth between them and Coheed depending on what they're both up to). Suffice it to say I am really excited to hear their newest work. :)

I don't know how I feel about this song, I love how circa's music grows as the band members lives progress, and it's not that this song is bad or anything I just miss the trippie guitar rifts and crazy hooks from the old day. There was nothing better than Anthony speaking to you behind such stellar guitar rifts, the circa of the past would send you on a dollar coaster of emotions. Seeing a new Circa song being release is one thing. Seeing Bree Esrigg in it is another. Such a odd combination of people I love in one video but was amazing to see. Bree was beautiful and amazing as always and Anthony's vocals were ungodly.
This music video is interestingly psychedelic. It reminds me of some of the odd scenes in Mr. Robot or Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas. I am glad that I actually had a chance to see Anthony Green live as my first concert when I was younger when he was with Saosin the first time. I was absolutely astonished. As soon as Circa Survive released their first album, I went and bought it in the store. After that, I was hooked. Circa Survive makes it to my top 10 of all time. I could have pirated, but I felt that this band deserved my support.

possibly my favorite music video of all time. very powerful and i love the concept and meaning of the words and how they can be interpreted. I've watched this so many times and I'll probably always watch it every now and then

I don't know how I feel about this song, I love how circa's music grows as the band members lives progress, and it's not that this song is bad or anything I just miss the trippie guitar rifts and crazy hooks from the old day. There was nothing better than Anthony speaking to you behind such stellar guitar rifts, the circa of the past would send you on a dollar coaster of emotions. Once again not saying they are bad now just grown up, I feel like BSN was when they started changing there sound up, they tried to bring back the juturna and OLG feel in violent waves and decensus but it wasn't there as always this is all in my humble opinion

Seeing a new Circa song being release is one thing. Seeing Bree Esrigg in it is another. Such a odd combination of people I love in one video but was amazing to see. Bree was beautiful and amazing as always and Anthony's vocals were ungodly.

This music video is interestingly psychedelic. It reminds me of some of the odd scenes in Mr. Robot or Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas. I am glad that I actually had a chance to see Anthony Green live as my first concert when I was younger when he was with Saosin the first time. I was absolutely astonished. As soon as Circa Survive released their first album, I went and bought it in the store. After that, I was hooked. Circa Survive makes it to my top 10 of all time. I could have pirated, but I felt that this band deserved my support.
