I've always felt like Circa Survive's music reminded me of my humanity, their music talked about things I didn't want to voice and it comforted me. Sometimes, though, I feel like I see too much of my pain in the music instead of seeing the growth.
This is my favorite song on the album next to "At Night It Gets Worse." When I listened to it, I was safe in the loss I felt when I listened to the song. However, upon watching this beautiful piece... I actually cried. I could feel something else--rebirth and love. It may seem foolish but, even for a second, it made me feel hopeful.
Thank you for sharing this with the world. I hope it brings others what it brought me.

That's absolutely beautiful! This song is the most special piece in my heart. My girl passed & for years I couldn't let go of her, didn't want to let her go. She was everything to me, for years we'd spend every moment together & every second our hearts just grew founder. Good god I love her. This song kept creeping up & inspired me to visit a cabin where her & i would escape to away from our tribulations. I never looked up the lyrics till I got to the cabin... I understand it's Circa Survive but I hear her voice, she was singing this to me. She wanted me to let go. Because I kept holding on to her, she couldn't move on either. Fuck i miss her so much.

How he observes her doing her hair at 2:50, to me, seemed like such a vivid depiction of what love is about and loving someone. It’s not the enormous poetic things that you do together but how he looks at her in that moment doing something seemingly mundane

If you haven't already, listen to Woman(in mirror) and Woman(reading) by La Dispute. Those songs are about the very thing you just described. Also I just saw Circa and La dispute on the amulet tour. It was amazing!
@Calum Gideon well that's just one pole of hypergamy, if you're a good looking dude or have some other high social status (nowadays basically just a large IG following or some dumb shit) then plenty of girls will settle for that. The point is women aren't prioritizing virtue or character almost at all and resent men who are average looking and / or earners.
My entire dating experience the last 4 years since my last relationship has been like a thousand rejections for shallow reasons. Being goth and emo says almost nothing meaningful about you, especially since that's basically just a fashion statement, I get it they're hot- I went to a lot of punk shows when I was younger too, but at best that necessitates a bit of counter cultural behaviour.

So much of Circa Survives music reminds me of my older brother who just passed away August 14, 2020 at the young age of 38 years old.
i was probably around 13 years old when he showed me Juturna. He was around 21 and lived with his then band mates. i remember he was vaping some weed while showing me the first song "Holding Someones Hair Back" and air drumming the song and describing the bass guitar as well.

This song is the most beautiful song ever.. I have been addicted to this song since I first heard it.. okay it was my routine to hear this song every morning when I got ready for work .. then I’d wake up my kids and I could never find a good song to wake them up to.. until one morning they were up and I put this song on and I started to get ready and both my boys 6 and 8 years old said “mom this song is beautiful wake us up to this song everyday” and I did every single day.. and it became our routine now they are 10 and 12 and they remember and cherish this song still. Thank you Jeff, one of my best friends. Deployed in 2014 with the guy, he would play Circa on the shop radio while we worked, and i got hooked. Was looking through my old military photos and saw a pic of us, i could hear "Get Out" playing in the background, jumped on my hard drive and blasted CS all night.

Such a beauticul song. It's so* lush*. Something I also appreicate about this is that it's a big deviation from the post-hardcore sound they're known for. Circa is a success story of a band that escapes their foundational genre and embraces experimentaion in a non-alienating way without dipping on artistic quality

I hadn't been a huge fan of new circa survive since blue sky noise. Some of the newer stuff really depressed me based on what i was going through in life. This is really well put together.

To be honest, I think we're getting a new saosin album soon, then another circa survive album. It what happened after decensus released too, Anthony rejoined saosin after cove reber was booted from the group, and a month later, we got the saosin album we should've got after translating the name back in 2005, and boy was it worth the wait.

@@jtotheroc I had heard it was due to Cove smoking and losing his vocal quality to the point touring was becoming hard. It might be a little of both. He isn't really active in his church anymore so I don't think Mormonism had much to do with it. Last I heard, he was doing a solo act called patriot a few years back.
