    Honestly can't say how much I love your content. I feel like Blender Guru, Ian Hubert, and CG geek are all great and definitely peaked my interest, but as far as custom asset creation goes, with modeling, sculpting, retopo, and texturing, your videos have been by far the most helpful!!

    The cool part about this workflow is the procedural mask. You can use one or two different rock meshes in a particle effect and then randomize their rotations and scales in the settings to create the illusion that you have a rock field filled with unique individual rock meshes, but in reality it's only two meshes. Of course this is assuming that the rocks are sticking out of the ground about halfway

  • @blenderadventurer3143
    @blenderadventurer3143 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First I was kinda disappointed you didn't include the ground but then I realized that with all what I've learned this past course I can just create it myself. So I did :)

    I'll do the plug, $180 off his character course and $80 off his drawing course (links in the description) right now. Not sure how long the sale goes for. I've had my eye on the character one for a while but it's expensive for me, however I've heard nothing but great things about that course. That's an insane deal and very affordable. hi Grant. Thank you very much for this tutorial, very helpful indeed. See the wet sand? I´m doing a beach scene myself, and besides the moss, i would like the rocks to have puddles, or at least some sort of wet and dry areas, is that feasable as well as the moss / rock effect?

    Hi Grant, thank you for your excellent tutorials!
    9:00 I have a small issue: when I ctrl+A to reset rotation values to 0 at the very last step, I find it regenerates a different shape of that boulder, every time when I reset rotation. I have tried uncheck the "random seed" box but also failed. Other user-made-topologies would not be like this. Hope you have some tips for me!

    I don't know where I went wrong but when I try to apply my rotation and scale it moves and the size changes, it doesn't stay the way I had it. It is probably something simple and I should be able to spot but I have never had the scale or rotation change just from applying it.

    • @NanaKitty-tiger501
      @NanaKitty-tiger501 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I figured it out. After staring at the screen forever I realized I had the co ordinate node highlighted. I clicked away so that none of the nodes were selected and then tried again. It worked fine. I tried highlighting it again and rotated and it didn't stay put so I am guessing that is what was wrong. I would have deleted the post but just in case someone else ends up with this trouble maybe they will find there way to here. :)
