    OK...I have been researching 3d printers for about a year now and came close to buying a divinci 3 in one pro...not a good idea since you cant order the laser for it. I looked up best 3d printers and this one was on the list out of the top ten. I saw your video and MAN!...did you do a GREAT job on the printer explanation. You were real and to the point. This has the bed size I need since i am an inventor and making my second prototype model an over unity magnetic generator and this 3d robo plus machine is going to work GREAT for what I need. Hairspray to make it stick...so cool. no tape. awsum. HEY...you did a really GREAT job on the video...DO MORE...lol...i'm gonna call my machine Robby the robo plus. Thank you for doing the video...you convinced me to buy this machine after looking for a long time. take care...and DO MORE VIDEOS. thanks a whole bunch...John.

      Thank you for watching my video. I have about 86 videos posted about the ROBO 3D R1+. Some of them are just printing things, some are Tips and some are Upgrades I have done to my printer.

    When autoleveling, the extruder does not stop in the positive x direction. It causes quite a chatter once it hits the end. Can not find a x positive limit switch. Is the one on the left suppose to do both? What should I check

    I think it's fair to say another opinion doesn't hurt so I'm going to leave my review and experience here while I'm frustrated and need to vent. I will try my best to refrain from exaggeration.
    If I could go back and say something to myself over 3 months ago before I bought this printer it would be "DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER." The first week I had was by far the best experience I've had with the machine. After getting past the poorly made way to load filament, it printed very well and it was awesome. A week after I got it, the thermistor stopped working, and me not knowing much about the printer yet took apart the extruder multiple times which eventually caused the heat break to bend. Rather than get a new hot end from the warranty, I decided to just buy an e3d v6 which I planned to do sometime in the future as an upgrade because I heard it improves the print quality. I installed it without too many problems besides it taking over half a month to arrive, but once it was installed I could not get it to print the first layer right. No matter what I did, it would press itself against the bed not allowing any plastic out. It kind of just suddenly started working. After that, I decided to print a cable chain since it looked cool and I did that without any problems until for some reason the logic on the x endstop was reversed when I hadn't done anything. It would think it was hitting it when the end stop wasn't being pressed and It would think it was not hitting it only when it was. I changed a line in the firmware and it worked. After that, I had it working well for a while. Then all of the sudden, I repeatedly got this error that said the temperature dropped too much even though it clearly did not. That just stopped happening for no reason too. Then a few days after that, I started having problems with the bed leveling. It would not print evenly. It would print one side lower than the other so that one side would be pushing against the bed while the other could too far above the build plate. I still have not gotten that to work right 100% of the time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I was having problems which weren't the printer's fault of the fans cooling down the hot end so I decided to buy a 40w heater core. When it arrived, I realized that the screw holding the 25w heater core was not going to come out. Eventually it become so stripped that there was no hope of ever removing it so I bough just the metal part of the hot end because I already had the heater core, nozzle, and a spare thermistor I bought with the heater core since I had prior issues with a thermistor. That installed with no problem until the heat break became a little loose and plastic leaked everywhere from the top. Later when I cleaned it up, I realized there was a huge jam inside just the heat break which I eventually got out. Then the printer worked well for a day before I woke up today to see the print I had done had jammed a little after it started. It was actually probably a clog since when I finally got plastic to go through, I required a lot of force. I had to heat it up to 280C to be able to extrude plastic with reasonable force to season it. When I became evident that clog was not coming out, I decided to take out the hot end. While trying to unscrew the heat break, the heat break decided to snap in half instead of unscrewing. It was the result of the plastic being in the threads because that happened before and I just heated it up and it moved and it was still at 280C when it broke. Now I'm stuck here needing to buy an entire v6 because everything is fused to the hot end because of the leaking and half of the heat break is in the cold end and I can't remove it since there is nothing to grab onto. I've had countless other tiny problems. My own incompetence has contributed to some of these problems, but they are not all my fault and many of them resulted after I tried to fix prior problems and made worse problems.
    This isn't the printer's fault, but I've had terrible experiences with filament too. The first filament that came with the printer printed amazingly. Then the second spool I got because my small school had a 3d printer for one quarter and I convince the teacher to give me one of the remaining halves of a spool instead of giving it to the next school and that printed just as well. Then the third filament I got printer like shit. Eventually I decided it was a bad batch and got a fourth spool with printed like shit. Now I have fifth and sixth spools from Robo3D themselves since I had such good luck with the first sample spool that came with the printer. They both print like shit unless I print at a .1mm layer height which then the print ok. I also bought abs which printed well for the only print I will ever print with it because the printer is in my room and it smelled toxic and I have some sainsmart TPU which also prints like complete shit even though I've tried printing it at a huge range of settings with most being just shittier than the last.
    People have been talking about how far 3d printing has come in the last few years and that's either because they have expensive ass printers and expensive ass filament or because I have terrible luck. One of the reasons I decided to get a Robo3D was because of this channel th-cam.com/channels/BGNc_mOP_amZNrNj6lAwHg.html. I would recommend going to his channel if you have or might buy a Robo3D printer. Some of his videos helped me fix some of the problems I had.
    I would recommend a kit so you don't waste as much money if you have a bad experience like me and you can become familiar with the printer without breaking it like did. I'm only sixteen and everything mentioned in this comment was paid for by myself from summer jobs. The times it did work were so amazing it was almost worth the money.

      I'm sorry you have had so many problems with you ROBO 3D. I have had mine for just over a year now and I have had some problems but nothing like you have had. I have been lucky and I have not had any hot end problems yet. When I do I think I will get the hot end from ROBO and get the same hot end that came in the printer because it has worked so well for me. As for your bed leveling problem check out my video on the bed leveling problem I had and see if it will help. th-cam.com/video/cLm5NYDS9zQ/w-d-xo.html

    hi, as you mentioned it was flat at the bottom part but not at the top, do you know how to deal with rough part?

    • @Rorlin3DNerdStop
      @Rorlin3DNerdStop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have found with thin prints like that ring to top will be as flat but if you get it a bit thicker the top is much flatter. I try to no print anything under 1 mm on the Z...

    if you are not supposed to insert the filament until the head is hot.
    what do you do with what is in the head after printing?
    how do you clean the bed after printing?

    • @Rorlin3DNerdStop
      @Rorlin3DNerdStop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you do with what is in the head after printing? If I'm not going to print for a day or two I will cut the filament about 6 inches above the head and leave it in there to keep dust out of the hot end. How do you clean the bed after printing? I just use water and wipe it clean... Check out these vidoes th-cam.com/video/xd4GHUBFBjQ/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/xSFeI1HGQ_o/w-d-xo.html

      P.S. Late to the party, and you (and other) may know, that hairspray makes prints stick when it's hot, then release when it's cool. So, that test "circle" would come off much easier once the bed has time to cool.

    Would you recommend this printer to a novice? I don't know much about 3d printers, but I am hoping to learn. My main use for it would be to create 3d terrain for my table top role playing games.

    Help...I have the same 3D box but downloaded the software directly from Matter Control. For some reason when I attempt to print I get an error message that tells me to "Switch-off automatic bed leveling" or reset print filament (code C29) ( I can only control X,Y, & Z, axis and extruder movement manually) How do I eliminate this code so that I can print the calibration ring automatically? Thanks, Carter.

      In MC go to VIEW --> Settings --> Custom G-Code --> Starting G-Code: (Does it look like this?)
      G28 X0 Y0 Z0 ; home all axes
      G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift nozzle
      M109 S[temperature] ; set the extruder temp and wait
      G28 X0 Y0 Z0 ; Home Z again in case there was filament on nozzle
      G29 ; probe the bed

    When I try and print with mine the build plate shakes bad and doesn't make smooth movements like yours does. Would you have any idea why? thanks

    • @Rorlin3DNerdStop
      @Rorlin3DNerdStop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check that the belt drive is tight under the build plate. Check that the build plate rods are not bent. If all that looks good I would call ROBO 3D it might be a bad stepper motor...

    Robo 3D is a scam. They have the worst 3d printers. In addition to poorly design, they use cheap and unreliable components in their products.
