Hi, I don’t know if you’ll find something fitting for 200 or below. Maybe if you go thrift shopping or get a really great deal. However many cameras are cheap if you buy them secondhand from a private person or some resellers. I watched two years ago some videos for recommendations under 1-1,2k. After that I looked out for some secondhand options. I really hope you find something great!

Which camera would you reccommend for under 1000 or around 1000 euros. I have a sony zv1 but I dont like the battery lasting and that it doenst perform well in low ligth.I also want to make more film type of content. I thought about canon eos r50 or canon m50 mk2 or do you know a better one

Unfortunately in the mirrorless camera world those are actually cheap. Getting into the camera game is expensive. Lenses sometimes are more expensive than the camera. But for the average shooter a smartphone maybe all they need.

I am so lost, I want to record mostly events, therefore, I need something good in low light. I wanted to buys Sony a7III but the tilt screen in annoying, since I want to vlog as well. A7IV seems like a good option, but it’s a bit too expensive, since think i would get tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens. I also hear a lot about Sony a6600 or a7c and I have no idea what to choose.

I have not tried the Sony nex. but I see it in a lot of budget video. but I have a lot of experience with the d3500 and I can vouche it’s really good.
What do u mean when u note how many RAW images can be shot "...in a row..."? Do you mean one automatically after the other by holding the shutter down the entire time or do u mean one after another but not holding the shutter down the entire time? Thank you very much.
its how many raw images it can shoot before the camer needs a break to write the images to the card. One camera with small buffers it will either slow down the shooting or tell you it needs to wait like 10-15 seconds.

The only camera for that price i would say is the canon r100/ canon t7 or canon a6000 or a6400. You will have to hunt for a used camera

I’m about to start an online business and need a good camera for taking pics of products and making short videos
I am looking between R50 and sony recent launched a6700. My requirement is to do casual photography with some candid pics and stuff. Want to consider a6400 or a6600 as-well, but again there is a question in my mind why old, when they launched new 6700 already. Can you help me here ? 😅
Old camera are a great way of getting value at a discount. If you can afford the newer stuff, you might as well. it will often be more enjoyable and be a fun camera for longer. As with a camera for casual stuff is more about the experience than getting into the nitty gritty of the technology .
I think the r50 is a better deal as a casual shooter. and it will leave you money for things like lenses. Where as the a6700 is significantly more and leave you little room for acessories. But the a6700 is like getting a tesla, the technology is insane and really fun to use. The R50 is a great budget/ beginer camera and still fun but its like a motorcycle compared to the ferrari of the a6700
I have a unique situation. My wife is a professional and uses an a7 Iv. She doesn’t really have b camera so was thinking of getting the a6700 for my needs then possible b for her (I’m headed to Alaska and wanted a good smaller camera). I’m guessing it would be smarter for me to stay in the Sony universe. But I really like the price of the r50.

Thankyou. And i think you are right. I just cannot recommend old busted cameras from a decacde ago like the sony nex. The oldert and cheapest camera i feel comfortable recommending is the sony a6000 or canon m50. They might hate me now, but when they buy a old busted up sony nex 5 they will hate the person who recommended it

I actually think the iphone 14 pro ius a better options than a digital camera for you. because you need to make the photos very basic and true to life. I can't imagine high resolution mirrorless camera making that big of a difference. I think lighting might be a better purchase

Almost eveyrhting from sony is good in low light. A6400 for low light photos and a6700 for both. The zve10 is a good cheaper beginer friendly model

Got the m50 and it's a cracking stills travel camera, might upgrade to the R50.

M50 will last a while, you probably can hold off upgrading for at least 1 more year
Lol, me now realising that camera's are not cheap. Weird how you can get like 4k drones for the same price of many of these cameras, but I suppose there is a lot to them.
How sensible is it for beginners to stick to the same brand as their starter cameras when upgrading, for the sake of keeping down the cost of lenses?
For example, I like the idea of the Canon R50 as a starter camera, but I may prefer going with a Sony A6700 or a A7C for the upgrade down the line. If I’m planning on eventually upgrading to a Sony, would it make more sense to just stick with a Sony starter camera to begin with?
You can always use adapters to make the lenses work with another camera. I just got a Canon SL2 as my first and plan to keep learning with it. Eventually I might upgrade to a Sony or an RF mounted Canon. Both will require me to buy an adapter if I plan to keep my glass. But in the same token I could just treat my stuff nicely and sell later.
amazing questions. So if you upgrade in a year or two. chances are the camera ecosystem , so i never think sticking with a brand is a good idea for an upgrade. I think its best to buy what goo right now or buy something tht above what you need and grow into it.
I had something similar where i had sony camera and then when i upgraded i went to a red camera that used canon lenses. You never know where life takes you.
so keep your gear in good condition do you can sell it for the most amount of money .

I don’t like calling these budget, because they aren’t. They’re moreso hobbyist cameras. Budget is buying something used that released 10 years ago.
The deal breaker for me is any camera with a "Propitiatory battery". I will NEVER buy any camera if the store does not have in stock extra batteries for it, at a reasonable price. No other feature is as important to me as me being able to have plenty of affordable battery power available at all times.
99.9% of cameras brand have their own individual battery types
You can always recharge batteries and buy spares. using triple a batteries in camera is something we stopped in the 90s

Buy a used DSLR if you need something that’s actually budget.
Canon EOS R100's 4K video is really mediocre with the whopping 2.56x crop, features are actually less. This camera is just price-to-performance ratio which the performance should only be with beginners or those who want their first camera to be as cheap as possible.
R100 is just a downgraded M50, period.
Earn a little more budget, R50 is more worth it with that price.

I am actually making a video comparing the two. I would say the r50 is better for casual but zve10 is better for people who are a bit more serious and would consider themselves aspiring creatives or online content creators. The zve10 is more powerful in my opinion but for specific types of shooters
I've used the ZV-E10 extensively for video/talking heads, and it's a great camera but the battery drains REALLY fast on this camera, which means you have to build battery-changing into your shoot. You can get around this by attaching an external battery pack to the camera via its USB port (I secured mine to the camera by taping it to my tripod), which powers the camera during use, so you aren't relying solely on the in-camera battery. But then you've got a bulky battery pack attached to an otherwise very lightweight camera.
