I don't think people realise how challenging burning 10k calories is. The most I've been able to run for is 9km, which took me about 55 minutes. During that time, my legs felt absolutely destroyed yet I only burned about 500 calories. Of course, I know this isn't a lot and I could definitely do more nowadays but I just wanted to put into perspective how hard it is to reach beyond 3000 calories in the first place Edit: it's actually closer to 700kcal in my case. Idk why I said 500 earlier
Yah bro especially when weight lifting you burn almost nothing and it makes you consider not putting that extra ranch on your pizza when its gonna take an hour on the treadmill to burn it off😂😂
Its a very rate individual who can legitimately burn off 10k calories in 1 day. 140 Watts for 20 hours would do it. Id say most fit people could do 5000 in a 12 hour day but even 7000 (the energy in 2lbs of fat) for 99% of people is not realistic.
You were tough mate! And honest! You could have showed us that you done the challenge, but you were realist. The toughest thing about all of this was that you didn’t stop trying to reach till the end! Hats off 👊🏽
You should check out the German TH-camr Sascha Huber. He ate and burned 10,000 calories in 24 hours. To burn 10,000 calories, he ran a marathon, did a cardio workout and after that cycled 66 kilometers. Between all that he ate pizzas, mcdonalds and drunk shakes. Just Insane.
The dedication Joe puts in to his channel is so impressive. From editing videos to going through these challenges is mental. You deserve all of the growth you've gotten. Keep it up king!
This is exactly what a lot of people that do an hour of cardio 3 times a week do not understand. At a good pace that only burns 1800 calories for the whole week. It’s good for health reasons, but it will most likely not help with weight loss unless you count calories. Most likely the person just ends up being a bit more hungry and making up for those calories.
Take weekly average of calories intake - could be for this instance approximately 2300 kcals for fat loss. 2300 x 7 = 16 100. Now we all know that how metabolism works right, so lets say we burn 2000 kcals a day = 14000 a week. Which puts us into calorie surplus after the week of + 2000 kcals, so at the end of the week we are not losing fat. But Thanks to cardio we can put ourselves to calorie deficit thus lose fat. Everything that makes us burn calories can be considered some sort of cardio therefore even lifting weights is cardio itself. I agree that you can not out train a bad diet meaning it is simply impossible to lose fat only by doing three cardio sessions per week while eating mcdonalds and pizzas all week long. However adding 2 to 3 cardio sessions to your week schedule while trying to lose fat definetly helps put yourself in calorie deficit. This is just my humble opinion which is made based on my personal research. = I could be wrong.
@@jirkacalda4674 Exactly. The person needs to count calories. If not they could negate 3 mild/intense cardio sessions by having an extra 250 calories a day. My body follows the 3500 calorie rule almost exactly. I maintain at about 2250 calories a day. That’s with 2 full body workouts a week and only doing my normal walking around work. If I play hockey that week I probably burn about 700 more calories for the week. I am 510 145lbs. I am no longer trying to add muscle so I mostly just go to maintain. If I have a junk day I normally lower my calories for a few days before with intermittent fasting. If I go on a vacation and just drink beer and eat whatever for a week or so I need to diet for a bit when I get back. I never let the scale consistently be over 150lbs. When I was 19 I let myself go a bit and then lost 50lbs. Never letting that happen again.
@@hemiplow1297 Cardio speeds up metabolism while you are doing it because it raises the hart rate. This burns calories. It is widely believed that it only burns calories while doing it. Once the heart rate goes back under 100 (which for an adult 60 to 100 bpm is normal for being at rest) nothing much more is happening for metabolism. Nothing naturally raises metabolism except having a good amount of muscle because a lb of muscle naturally takes more calories to maintain than a lb of fat. Cardio is good for the cardiovascular system because even a few minutes a day can help, but a mild amount or if you replace the calories with more food will not result in weight loss. If a person maintains at 2400 calories they can not do 40 minutes of cardio a day and lose weight eating 2800 calories. They will look the same, but be more athletic and not get winded as easily.

Jeez man, the eating alone was tough, personally I would find that a doddle, could always eat large meals, but I know people that just naturally can't eat large volumes, so for people like them, that would be tough. The actual calorie burning though, fair play, you put in an amazing amount of effort and you should be proud of that, there aren't many people that could do that, regardless if you beat the challenge or not. As you say, it's a lot harder to burn off those calories than people think. Great effort mate, keep motivated and keep smashing it, big love from the Emerald Isle 💪🏻💪🏻🇮🇪

When I was 15-18 I used to swim about 60km+ and do about 6 hours of weightlifting per week, with one rest day. This amounted to about 6000cal per workout day at the time, which I had to consume eating healthy. Eating so many calories healthily is much harder than the excercise itself! In the summer of 2015 I swam 26km open water in one day (took me 7 hours 12 minutes). According to my weight and speed at that race, I burnt over 13000cal just from that swim. The morning after the race I was 2.5kg lighter, which considering I was hydrated and full of food, is scary. Again putting this lost weight back was notoriously difficult! My takeaway: Eating is harder than excercising, when you burn so many calories.
It really is. I used to do 6 hours a day between gym, swim and hiking and boy I would burn around 6kal and then have to make sure to eat enough which is very difficult. I had to stop doing as much cause it’s too much
@@jayantpandey3628 I kept growing until I turned 22. If anything, I was extremely thin and I would attribute any height loss to caloric deficiencies and not the lifting itself. I was old enough to lift healthily at 15.
@@alexmira9739 you clearly know nothing about this, if he burned 5k a day that would mean if he ate 4,800 calories every single day for a week he would end up losing weight. This is muchhhhh higher maintenance than ifbb pro’s. Also it depends on the person but most people will burn only around a 300-500 weight training workout.
Man you are amazing and you are inspiration for me, I just get back like a half year ago thanks to you to training sessions and I can see progress that I was looking for. Thanks for this and I wish you all the best
I feel like this could be done if you do two things differently. Day One: drink all the calories, it will be much easier to get down 10,000 calories of sugary milkshake than eating stuff like chicken nuggets, which however unhealthy, still pack a lot of protein which is going to make you full. its also easier to digest liquids. go to bed early because you're going to need to get up super early on day two. Day Two: The next day you get on the bike and go till you hit ten thousand. 20 hours of 5 miles per hour walking should get you there, but you can exert the same amount of energy on a bike without hurting joints. There is no healthy way to do either of these things but this seems like the least painful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS.
I fully agree.. I feel like hitting the gym and doing all these fullbody excercises exhaust you way more than doing cardio. But it prolly wouldnt be that entertaining to watch. Same with replacing food for liquids.
There's actually a running race where every hour contestants run a loop just over 4 miles (the fractions is 100/24, meaning they run 100 miles in 24 hours) and they have until the next hour to complete it. Since it lasts over 24h, a 180lb person would burn 10k cal in a day from it. Just goes to show how hard this is to do
I don't see any evidence in your comment that that would burn 10 000 calories. But cardio is the way to go though, prolly some light jogging, walking and biking would be the best so you can actually do that long enough
Congratz man, you have proved why is so much easier to gain weigh, hope people understand now. Burning calories is a painful process, the key is always the long term daily calorie deficit. BTW instead of going to mcdonalds, try nuts, high calories and not much volume to eat

@@icestrolo my appetite just isn’t very good. Plus I get quite bad anxiety that makes me physically sick. For example today. I ate quite a big lunch probably 1000 calories. But then went to get in the car and it was very hot inside. I didn’t feel right. Went back inside the house and threw up everywhere. Was fine after that. Been to doctors with it they just say it’s anxiety. But I really struggle to stomach big meals or calorie dense foods without being sick. I also try to plan my meals as best as possible but it is hard- I work 8 hours a day and spend 2 hours commuting.
A bit of a suggestion for the burning part: Scuba diving. Seriously that drains you in an almost pleasant way (if you're new, don't go below 6m deep). Just dive down, and start finning.
Exercise choice is key here. I’ve Always found the x trainer the easiest machine to burn decent calories for a long duration. Definitely think you could have burned more by ditching the lifting session/running/rowing/swimming.
Lifting weights isn't really the optimal way to burn calories on a per session basis. Would have been better spending that time on the stepper, or rower.
1500k is sureal indeed but 300 -350 is doable in 45 min of intense workout in general in 90 min with legs you can reach 700 EASY wtf if you're 90min workout is 45 minute of rest time i can imagine the 350

That was a great attempt. It's definitely not impossible but 1. Isn't worth it 2. You can NEVER outrun a bad diet , muscle is built in the kitchen. 3. It's absolutely impossible to do it consistently.

This is just an example of Joe's insane work ethic. Massive respects and thank you for motivating me 👊
6k let alone is already really hard to pull off. Congratulations for even reaching that amount to burn off.
Bro burned 1000 calories in the gym workout !!
😂😂😂 epic video !!
bruh idk why i love ur content but damn well played
Love your content bro! Keep up the good work❤ the only thing that pains me is your boxing)
The calorie count on that bowl of cereal scared me tbh. Assuming those crepe’s or wraps come up to 600kcal, that’s still like 1800kcal of just breakfast. Holy crap!!
the bowl that the cereal was in was giant
No need to be scared of food
Poison crap. Gross.
You have a lot of courage to do this challenge Joe respect🥇💯
Dang Joe, you are a living legend mate! I don’t think I could ever do this.
So close, gotta admit, I think If you went again you’d definitely smash this challenge bro. 🔥
Hey king you drop this💁🏻♂️👑
Yes mate!!! What an effort.
You did good Joe. I struggle eating 3000 calories in 24hours. I couldn’t even think about 10,000
Listennn lol it’s rough 😭
I don't get it.. Whats so difficult about eating 3000-10000 calories? You just buy fatty/sugar food and open your mouth - no big science behind that
@@icestrolo my appetite just isn’t very good.
@@danl4252 you ever tried weed? I can't imagine getting sick off food while having munchies
@@icestrolo no to be honest. I have mates that do it but can’t say I’ve ever really been interested enough to try it.
Greg Doucette is going to come for you with this one. Great content but there is no way you burned the amount of calories you recorded
NAH WTF DID HE SAY 2:19 NAH I’m dead😭😭😭😭💀
Mcdonalds?
@@fentonace9818 but it’s just the way he says it muckdonolds
@@Bokchoychur22 I thought u meant like 10 seconds before he said he's gonna take a fat shit. But I thought u put the timestamp wrong
A bit of a suggestion for the burning part:
Scuba diving. Seriously that drains you in an almost pleasant way (if you're new, don't go below 6m deep). Just dive down, and start finning.
This really shows why hardwork is called hardwork eating is easier than working and alot people think they can get away with eating a unhealthy diet
1:40 bro really think we dont see them crusts?? pure cals there and u left em 💀💀
Even Andrew Tate would be impressed with that mate 😂
@T808_808T ok?
@T808_808T 😂😂🤣🤣
@T808_808T Well he'll beacho ass
@T808_808T irrelvant
TOP G
It would have been good to do a before and after weight check, anyhow good video 💪🏽
I respect you for trying 💪
Great videos Joe - just discovered your channel- big respect
Exercise choice is key here. I’ve Always found the x trainer the easiest machine to burn decent calories for a long duration. Definitely think you could have burned more by ditching the lifting session/running/rowing/swimming.
You can never outrun a bad diet.
Yes you can 😂
@@mukhtaarr No you can't
"Now I need to go take a fat shi-" that was hilarious
Hands down the most dedicated i have ever seen
It's must take a lot of GRIT. You did great, man. You also inspire the others to try before believe in anythings.🤙
6:55 burning 1500kcal from one gym session is just a fucking joke lol, even a tough leg day 90min workout will burn like 300-350
my thoughts exactly
I have burned around 1k in intense leg sessions according to Polar hr sensor
Lifting weights isn't really the optimal way to burn calories on a per session basis. Would have been better spending that time on the stepper, or rower.
the bigger joke is burning 1000 calories just sleeping lol. if it was that easy....
1500k is sureal indeed but 300 -350 is doable in 45 min of intense workout in general in 90 min with legs you can reach 700 EASY wtf if you're 90min workout is 45 minute of rest time i can imagine the 350
6:10 you know your rich when you can just throw you headphones on the floor
6:02 that girl was totally into you
I think so
Respect to you and your pal for pushing you 👏
respect.looking forward the 2ed try
I run for 20-30 minutes straight everyday and only burn 200-300 calories 😂😂 the fact you burnt 6000 is so surreal 😂 good job
I burnt 220 Calories in a treadmill. 4.5 Mph and 7 incline. I burn a lot while playing squash, upto 450 calories per hour
@@gabimaru8910 yeah and the fact that he burnt 1000 calories while sleeping seems kinda sus to me
@@Noctular nah it’s true
@@Noctular that happens to everyone lol
@@ffcc3770 you don’t burn that much
You consuming 10,000 calories looks like when I was dirty bulking
Btw sick video, continue what you r doing not far from 1,000,000 subs
Did the dirty bulk work for you?
@@busboy3232 the dirty bulk worked however I gained a lot of fat whilst doing it, but managed to get rid of the fat when I maintained my weight
@@thisguy6426 how much was your fat intake per day when you were bulking?
I want to bulk fast with 150gm fat intake a day with good amount protein and few carbohydrates
That was a great attempt.
It's definitely not impossible but
1. Isn't worth it
2. You can NEVER outrun a bad diet , muscle is built in the kitchen.
3. It's absolutely impossible to do it consistently.
Great input from captain obvious here.
*ErikTheElectric evilly laughing*
Amazing effort. Kudos for taking up the challenge.
Good shit bro your a beast 👍🏻🙌🏻
Man, this was insane, imagine bruning 10,000 calories in one day, that's crazy
Quick story here:
A friend of my father had to put on a lot of weight before going on an expedition in Arctic pole because even having an extremely fatty diet it was not enough to compensate for the calories he lost during the day
(i try translate best i can from my origin language sorry if theres some incohérence) 🙂
How dare you leave the crust. Thy shall not be forgiven
Bro, RESPECT
I am Very proud on u Bro i love the Video
