Enrique Gil's dad is Spanish but from the Philippines. So he's Filipino. And his mom is Filipina too, but with German and Spanish ancestry. That would make Enrique full Filipino because both his parents are from the Philippines. It's like saying Donny isn't full Filipino because he's descended from Manuel Quezon- who was nearly full Spanish. Filipinos can have mixed ancestry from past generations and still be full Filipino.

@@davidkrappenschitz4753 Filipinos are part of the ASIAN RACE. LOOK UP YOUR DNA TEST RESULTS. Filipino is a official ETHNICITY by the global census board. Korean is not a race, it's a ethnicity. Most of them have little bit to more chinese and Japanese blood too. Nobody is 100% of anything. Koreans with 60% Korean dna results call themselves pure before and continue after bc both their parents are from there. But technically the ones over 75% is pure and many Filipinos are 88.8% and above like youtubers YoitsJojo etc.

I find it so odd that Daniel looks white or at least is more associated to western phenotypes to foreigners when I literally only see him as full filipino 😅
thats because the mass media or like this content creator tend to fabricate or exaggerate filipino's white or north asian genes when they become celebrities. try asking some average filipino in your neighborhood and ask them if they have mixed with something. the general response will always be, "my grandfather/mother has some [enter any white race here] but im just filipino." however, if one day this guy becomes famous and a celebrity, any negligible foreign blood they have will be accentuated exaggeratedly overshadowing their brownness as if its a title.

And daniel padilla literally was born, grew up and become an adult in the philippines and cant even speak fluent english. Just like her mother.

The sad reality is, mixed race Filipinos especially the ones who didn't grow up in the Philippines will have a better chance of making it in the Philippines and with better opportunities VS a pure Filipino born and raised in the Philippines. I hope one day we can change that and recognize more pure Filipino talent in all industries.

Next time you make these videos, please learn the difference between Spanish-descent and straight-up Spanish. There's a big difference. Someone like Arjo Atayde is Spanish-descent. He's full Filipino, but he has Spanish ancestry. If he were in this video, you would probably label him only part Filipino, which would be incorrect. Now someone like Marian Rivera is half Spanish because her dad is from Spain. She would correctly be labeled as part Filipino. Don't mix up Spanish-descent and half Spanish. They're different. I have a video on my channel of full Filipinos living in the Philippines who are Spanish-descent. Many don't "look Filipino" at all, but they are, and their ancestors have been here for hundreds of years. And yes, Spanish and Germans often intermarried in the Philippines. The Zobel de Ayalas are a perfect example of that. But they're Filipino now. Same with Enrique's mom.
yes, the way they angled this is so simplistic. like filipino is not even a race. the race of the general PH population is accurately-speaking: malay-polynesian (or austronesian/southeasian). filipino is culture, ethnicity and citizenship, its not a racial monolith. that would be like saying that mexicans are half austrian, part black and mexican. its not entirely accurate, because indigenous mexicans are native americans. lastly, most of the celebrities presented here have negligible foreign genes to even be considered part-filipino. since almost all of them was born and raised here and never know how to speak spanish, or german or whatnot. it does seem like this content creator who is a koreaboo associate filipinos with poverty and tribal people.

A few swipe on filipini tiktok youll see pinays like blond and blue eyed aryans who, granted have several mixed white parents and grandparents with the common denomintor of these set of parenta having filipino blood but whose ancestors were based in the philippines for centuries
