y'all know that in the Philippines, plastic surgery is unpopular. Almost Filipino have double eyelid. And our skin is not black, it's "brown" in tagalog "KAYUMANGGI". In some part, other Filipino literally born with a white skin. Almost of the artist here in the Philippines have a natural beauty, take a look of their childhood photos. Other people who lived in other countries said we are ugly, like duh, that's what we called GLOW UP, in our childhood we're busy playing our unique game like TUMBANG PRESO (shooting Sardines Can or Milk Can using Slippers) CHINESE GARTER, HIDE AND SEEK, BAHAY BAHAYAN, and Also we're doing Climbing a tree. Not actually as unpopular as you think... because there are surgeries existing that enhances your beauty but not necessarily change the way you look. There are A LOT of celebs in the ph that had gone under the knife and fans are just in denial, as if there's something wrong with having plastic surgery...

Being a morena and pure Filipino isn't a beauty standard in PH. Stop spouting lies. Most Filipinos are obsessed with whitening products like kojic and gluta. Most Filipinos also have mixed blood in them due to the colonization we experienced in our history. We definitely don't go around asking if someone is pure before being attracted to them.

Maine Mendoza is a pure Filipina, her eyes and the shape of her face is amazing. Maine shape of face is from our native Filipino ancestor looks. If you see people having no prominent eyes like with Maine they have chinese blood and they got it from their chinese ancestor. Don't compare your face with native Filipinos, we are different. Your looks will be similar with Filipinos with Chinese blood, Japanese etc.

We belong to Austronesian race and we have our own physical features, not just the mixed feature "mestiza".
Filipinas are "Kayumanggi" and not everyone is fair skinned as these celebrities are, that's why getting teddy curls is a No-No because it'll only make them look messy.

I remember a shampoo commercial back then asking what defines a filipina or something like that. Then the model answered straight beautiful black hair. I found it offensive because there are a lot of filipinos who don't have straight hair, including me. I have a natural wavy hair and the filipinos obsession with straight hair made me insecure with my hair. My hair was my biggest insecurity while growing up.

My family tree even consist of having variety of skin color, eyes, nose, and even our hair are different. Me having a curly kind of hair is an example.
