I have moded a second set of tin Reed's and placed it behind the originals. I cut one in a long V shape and the other side cut straight about halfway up. Powerband now feels stronger and multi stage. You can feel the individual Reed's opening up at different rpms

Do you remove the reed bracked to create the power ban mod? And do you screw the reed back on the bracket?
Haha I dont remember this one, seems like you used to have a great set up. I bet you miss this . You'll have adds on in no time. If you can do a live video. That creates tons of watch time. TH-cam will approve you Skullcam
haha yes my old vids....and yes that set up was cool....any way all good i can still make vids atm thats the main thing...also been thinking bout the live thing...just have to get a little more set up

been working on my pocket bike put bigger tires and rims now I am trying to get the right sproket racial got rid of the little chain and sprockets to small think i will move the motor backshould give me a little more take off and i will be geting that new reed thanks for the top scull cam

Have a few more cones ya bogan. Reeds dont give you powerband. They work as a valve to stop combustion going back into the intake and helps atomise fuel. Skull slam a cone hahaha.

i have a pocket quad i put a stihl chain saw motor in it anddid it up orange and white i call it the stihl weelerthought about doing a video with it just havent i did the plastics out of the chain saw case and the bar cover its cool

Just put racing carbon fibre reeds in mini moto dirt bike its running bad do I have to set the carb up to fix this problem

skullcam sorry for no replying for so long. Yea i will take a look :)
My tips will be porting the crankcase for better flow, will increase rpms by A LOT. You should also match the exhaust port to the exhaust manifold, make the airflow to the carburetor as high as you can get or just get a bigger carb, maybe swap out the reed valves with carbon fiber ones, does help just a little bit. My last tip would be getting a big bore high compression kit for it if you can find one that fits...
Maybe a little too late of me to post now, but just so you know.
Len Gaming hey, sorry for the late response. During these last 7 months i have gotten the pocketbike going and put a big bore kit on it. I don't ride it much because its loud but i love it to bits. Take out your spark plug and pour a cap full of atf fluid down it leave it sit 15mins and try pulling it easy to see if it moves then start working it free slowly

bike was only Rhode only 3 times now no spark at all
There are only 22 bolts in the engine and running gear (not much to commit to memory )

My mate has given his mini quad to me to work on for him. I've just come accross this video and it looks like the same engine. Could you tell me what the wire from the coil pack is for ? (The one by the spark cap) also do these kind of bikes require a battery ? (I am new to these) hope you can help
Angels hatter.. that little wire you mention is the kill switch wire.... no battery required ...hope that helps ...and , thank you for watching skullcam
skullcam I have done some research and thought that was the case. But had a conversation with a mate and was not to sure. Thank you. I take it, the kill switch would be just a spring loaded single press kill switch? Also I was wandering if you know any good sites (other than eBay) to buy parts such as right and left brake leavers, brake cables and the bolts to connect the brake cables to the brake callipers ? Also what is the best ratio of petrol to 2 stroke oil mix for these types of engines ? Kind regards,
start the bike ...touch that wire onto the bike frame ....it will earth out the coil pack and shut the motor down.......as for the kill switch ..yes mostly spring loaded but you can get other types ........hay check out my latest vid for a fuel ratio mix.....and ebay would be the best place for parts.....unless your local to me...but i live sunshine coast Australia.....maybe try bmx brake leavers ive done that before.....skullcam

Asking... My bike won't start after disassemble engine... Gasket changed... Compress strong, spark plug blue colour fire,gas ok carb ok... Why my engine won't start bro...?
if every thing is good bro ..i can not see why she wont fire ....i know iv had pocket bikes that literally take all day of pulling the heck out of the starter ..just to fire ..but they mostly are the old crappy ones.....best i could do with out getting my hands on the bike would be to say just keep trying bro it has to be something
Intake valve on a 2 stroke wtf u on about A. Its a carburetor boot and B. Its a reed valve welcome to what is called a two stroke

ebay is probably the best place at the moment...the carbon reeds are getting harder to find

yes the nos bottles do make a very small boost ..
the big bore kits do make a power increase...but not to much point if you still have a standard carb and exhaust pipe ...

I have petrol, I have a good spark, my pull start is working great, but my engine won't start, it nearly did twice but I have had no joy in getting it running, can you help me plz I'm up the bloody wall , there is nothing else I can think of to be wrong , jay

@@tuckercole1531 , hello, it's a brand new carb and engine, it has nearly started twice and I have had no joy since then, it just won't fire up for the first time , I have copied every single video on here in all types of ways of doing it, and nothing works
