Did you ever make vids for Reed installation, race carb and fitting the full circle crank? Also did you fit the electric start, race flywheel a clutch? Cheers, love the vids.
I think it's good that you run a heavier oil mix. As long as you don't smoke too heavy, I'm sure that it will run fine at 40:1 once it's broken in. You can tune the carb so it runs good so running the recommended the fuel mix isn't too important.. just don't go leaner than recommended. I'd rather have better lubrication than worse! I actually run full synthetic oil in my 2 stroke stuff. I also skip the pump gas and head for my local airport. I use 100 octane low-lead gasoline. It has zero ethanol and it's 100 octane. If I remember correctly, it's around $3.50-$4 bucks a gallon. I don't use a whole lot so I'm ok with paying more for better gas and high quality oil. I'd like to see you try a snowmobile. It will provide some content during the long winter and it will be a unique project.

I have the same engine in my pocket bike. However it did have a performance carburetor on it but somehow it snapped off where it attaches to the intake for some reason i am not sure how it even happened, for that reason I am running with the stock carburetor and have never ran into any issues with it. Make sure you do a plug chop when changing oil mixing ratios - main jet sizes increase as more oil is mixed into the fuel due to leaning the fuel out. Otherwise great stuff mate!

Yea I wouldn’t expect it to go in deep powder but if I could cruise it on snowy streets and light snow though that would be awesome to me. A lot of factors into this one though like probably needing a welder forsure

Try building two identical hipo engines for your snowmobile idea and run them side by side -(not joined at crank to crank but seperatly joined by jackshaft)? Lightweight materials to build it scaled down a bit .?

When you say 25:1 you mean running a 2.5% mix, so, for breaking in you should do 3%, do about 3 or 4 hours of cruising use, then 2.5% for normal use once you’ve done the breaking in, make sure you stop so the engine can cool down a little, start it up, do a good warm up and once you’ve been using it, leave it idleing for a minute then kill it so it cools down progressively

Plastic is better because after much experience with these engines it's always better to break the cog in the pull start than break the flywheel. Once I got the aluminium starter cog I started breaking flywheels.

Thats weird it disappeared, should be back :) I won't be messing with these as is anymore because they seem to only yield about 30mph even with hundreds of dollars in for upgrades... I may try to do a double or triple 49cc motor set up though! Multiple engines, one unit.
Check if the spark plugs protruding more then it should, if not you might be able to put 2 head gaskets on to make a small difference. If not see if the stroke on the other crank will clear

I have an almost identical build on the break in rack with one significant difference, a process that was made available to me around 1994 or there abouts. Im talking about Cryogenic metaluracal hardening/tempering. Using liquid nitrogen, metal components are simply placed in an overnight soaking ,the temperature of this pajama party is-minus 300 F. The parts then are brought back slowly to room temp then allowed to climb into the 250F +- point where the completed finished process is complete. The effects are all positive and in some specific areas relating to a typical 2 stroke's high rpm and jetted to the very edge of armegeddon ( thats where the big power lives) are downright dramatic!!! The treated pistons ,rings rods bearings cylinders become able to perform at higher rpms . This is because youve been invited to hang out and use some fuel air combinations spinning at numbers that you will at first think is somebody prankin you hoodini style. Ive been waiting a very long time to return to the magical land of Toosuna kabooma.. the best kept secret in motorsports. Or so said John Force.. he doesnt mention it anymore.. (he has his own in house set up) Google 300below .com .

They tell you to use 50:1 for emissions reasons. 50:1 is detrimental to the engine in the long run and 32:1 should be perfect for it, the main reason why you dont want to use 50:1 is because of the extreme load and rpms the engine will see, that's why a weed wacker will survive 100:1 because they dont rev that high and are not under much load

Something that you could ride in the snow would be pretty cool to see just not sure how you would rake up the belt system for the rear unless you just put a real big knobby Tire that's where I got the trail Ripper idea they have suspension with 10 inch knobby tires and chain driven
Yup exactly thats where I'm having trouble too, I have no experience with snowmobiles either. it may have to be knobbys in the back and possibly skis in the front but we'll see may be a belt plan will come to me via more research

I would go alu over plastic forsure

I have a problem I bought the big bore kit with crankshaft included and the piston crushes the spark plug can you help me with that problem?

I doubt any of the pipes available for these bikes are designed to match the ports, not to mention even boost volumetric efficiency close to 60%.

Yes electric is legal, and some gas can be legal but you have to look it up for where you live.
