This would actually explain a pretty big percentage of 55 million worldwide viewers if you think about it. Any number of shows/movies on prime could auto play into rings of power.
If I were Jeff Besos, I’d fire everyone involved with the TV show. How is it possible that there are no actions figures, videogames, t-shirts and other merchandise based on the TV show? How do they expect to make money with it? Is it money laundry?

Maid and Queen's Gambit on Netflix got over 60 million households each (over the series). If episode 1 of RoP S02 got 900,000 households, that's awful performance. Novel adapted dramas (albeit amazing) garnered easily 4x (probably more like 10x) the households of a LOTR vanity series.
This show could have been amazing and instead it's been historically bad. Why is nobody being held accountable for this? I don't think there's anyone associated with this show that is capable of evaluating its quality objectively. It seems to have been created in an echo chamber of people who are not fans of Tolkien's universe. I'm just so disappointed.
They can't seem to understand that people not liking it isn't a personal attack on them. They "know" it's a great show, and only a racist hater would say otherwise. They're focused on revenge now.

1 billion minutes divided by 55 million views = 18 mins per view on 3 episodes of season 2 (almost 200 mins)... Hmmm...I am shocked some people got past the 15 mins of the 1st episode of season 2
let's take an IP the size of LOTR, which has sold 150 million books and has 3 of the most watched and awarded movies of its time... And we're going to make it unrecognizable and urinate on the source material, disappointing or angering hundreds of millions of fans who will attack it instead of supporting the product.
