great actor, the look behind his eyes as Annatar/Sauron in Season 2 of Rings of Power is truly unsettling but here he's just a chill, normal, friendly guy.
All season 1 I was thinking "is he or isn't he Sauron", although it seemed like obviously he is. Then on the season finale when Galadriel asked him, Vickers was really spot on with his acting... like, idk the words to put it, but it was like you could see the real Sauron come out in that scene. And on season 2 he is spot on - nothing like the "evil villains" in other movies, just doing his thing and quietly spreading evil everywhere... Seriously the perfect actor for this role.
I am thoroughly enjoying Rings of Power.

Why is Sauron so good looking? 😅
I find it interesting when Sauron says "the power of the flesh" because that fits Tolkien's theme surrounding temptation. The idea is that no one is immune to the power of the flesh when it comes to being tempted by something. And Sauron uses the Ring to amplify that, which is why it corrupts everyone's hearts that own it or are in its presence. Even if they seek to use the Ring for good, it will make the person holding it do evil.

I like the show, I don't know why some people have to bitch and complain about everything.
It's kind of split. Some people are genuinely annoyed over how the show goes against the lore so heavily and invents things. They see that as a betrayal of Tolkiens work. I understand this at least. For my part, I love Tolkien and have read everything he ever wrote pretty much lol, but I am enjoying this show for what it is - it's kind of big budget fan fiction. Then there's the other camp of people - who never read anything by Tolkien at all and just love to complain and rage over everything that comes out these days. Those people suck.
Because they rotally changed the lore, timelines,added new persons ect.
Best is to enjoy it for itself and not for something, which is based on Tolkien.
Because some of us have standards, taste, intelligence and discernment. When those are applied to this show it looks like a huge pile of steaming poop

Vickers is a brilliant actor. He does so much with little micro-expressions, the shadow of a smirk or scowl. I'm enjoying the series very much (as a Tolkien fan since 1969.) And I'm especially enjoying his performance as a character who reminds me of Ted Bundy: charming and so evil.

I love how all these cast members are having to do these media appearances to try and explain what the heck is going on in this story.
It's obvious what's happening in the story. Sauron is faking weakness to take advantage of and manipulate Adar and his forces.
Yeah the show is too clever for a lot of people.
Yeah, Amazon have managed to make a show so clever that they have to keep explaining what is going on. That there is a masterful new paradigm for the art of storytelling, and I'm sure all other filmmakers will be looking-on with baited breath to see if they succeed.

Nope not a bad show.. the original trilogy had a lot of cringe moments a lot of plot holes and story lines that lead absolutely nowhere and people don’t complain about it but try to kill this show. In my opinion the show is great and has improved on gladriels and elrons characters

All actors are good, what show lacks is something....to bind the scene...this first three episodes were bit rushed but i have heard that from next things open up at normal pace....so looking forward what happens next. Once entire season is over will judge, but so far it seems it might be better then the first one.

The dialogue is horrendous (give me the meat, and give it to me raw, THE SEA IS ALWAYS RIGHT, I have a tempest in me...etc. I could go on) and the story-boxing is terrible...the use of allegory to preach sermons on contemporary politics is the most aggredious fault though, something the original author paid careful attention to never do...if you want to enjoy this show as its own thing or as fan-fiction be my guest, but this is nowhere near a decent adaptation of Tolkein...

the series gets a LOT of hate. I agree it is poor, but I would rather have a poor LOTR series than none at all so I continue to watch while many have stopped. Apart from spectacularly bad writing here and there, my biggest gripe is that most characters are spectacularly miscast, including Mr Vickers here. Sorry.
You can tell he regrets taking the role and is now doing this as a job. Damn shame, i'm sure he would've excelled the role had it been written more accurately per the canon minus all the DEI agenda.
