Thank you for your honest review - it's nice to know that you're not being sponsored to make it appear better than it is. I love that ultra slow speed motor crawl so now I just have to decide whether it's worth buying for that. Fantastic course, it inspires me to improve my own!!
I've just finished uploading my first Furitek video and out of curiosity, did a quick search for the Katana (not the one I looked at). I LOVE your course, it's gorgeous!! And your approach and relaxing pace, really nice video. Well done :)
First honest review that I've seen on this one.. most are too busy kissing furi a$$. Seems like a good rig overall, should be mostly fine with some modding, but yeah that drivetrain play is pretty bad. Your course is exceptional! The zipline is very cool! Commentary was hilarious. Thank you
Right on thank you. You are correct most guys don’t want to jeopardize there free truck gravytrain. Even most small channels dont want to jeopardize the chance that they will get free stuff in the future.
The aftermarket parts are slowly increasing for these, I did notice they have extended drive shaft kits with brass as well. I believe that with some softer tires, trimming, and extensions, this could turn out to be sweet.
Edit, sorry, I was getting confused about what the slop was and where, but I do know they came out with metal gearing and have 3 options ? Hopefully the teeth are alittle tighter as well
My 1/18 Wrangler is the Injora body on Injora LCG chassis with easy and nice clips (TRX4M). Swamp Claws on 1.3 wheels. It's brushed with the 180 and low gears and the MB100. That thing you got there has me on wheel speed and nothing else. I built the same with the FJ40 body and got Furitek brushless motor/trx4m trans and python pro electronics because of the space limit with it having an interior and flatbed. After that was built I took out the Furitek system and ordered the Injora brushed system, made it fit and upgraded. I know there are a lot of builds just like those out there. I'm still a big fan of Furitek because of the programmability though. I don't know why it was so noisy and sloppy with the Injora diamond axles but those brushed Injora components tightened and quieted it up are just better in my opinion.
My channel is named after the first two pugs i had oliver and oscar. When they died i created the channel in there memory. There pictures are on the wall on each side of the obrothers sign in the beginning and end of my videos. I bet yours are awesome. They all seem to be. Thanks for checking out the video
Great video I just got my katana 2 weeks ago it's been great but the tire rub I really don't wanna trim any other ideas ...I also used same tires but installed bras wheels added a lot of weight for now not sure if I can get links and that yet not seeing any out there do you know of any yet..... Great video once again
There really isn’t much of a aftermarket for these things. that’s why i was hoping it would be good out of the box. I will be doing a upgrade video once I’ve had it for a bit. I need to figure out what is going to work to make it better. Thanks for checking it out.
The frame, links, driveline, axels, shocks are just the same as the ones from the hobby plus evo pro. So you can upgrade parts just now from some chinese shops. Great, you are the only one, who mentioned, that the body is old. Here in Switzerland the truck with this body is named Kratos from Absima Rc. I got this truck years ago for 80$, now with all the parts I have for the evo pro, I will built my own one. Will see, if it's able to get the driveline tighter.
The hooby plus CR18 evo pro (brushless) is definitely the better buy. Performance is way better and has 2 speed transmission which on first appearance seems gimmicky but actually is functional and gets you over some obstacles that you couldn’t without it. You use the blue tooth furitek app not the dip switches for settings. Foams are crap but swapped out for some brass wheels and smaller tires. The drive shaft breaks really easy but the SCX24 C10 is a perfect fit. Nice review
The bad steering angle is a trade off for the wider wheelbase that in turn gives you better side hill and overall stability. I put a set of injora brass 1” plus with swamp stompers on mine. Horses for course’s. Look forward to your vid. Subscribed.
Underneath looks sweet the chassis and axles look Awsome. I mean loose the body, put angle of shock to steepest angle mess with the link placement…and even just chop the crap out of body and loose the sliders…idk that hood piece blows…doesn’t even look good on the hood. Weird plat issue! Awsome review….
Nice vid. I was gonna buy a Katana, until I realized it come with bushings. WTF!! The slop in the driveline is terrible. Glad I watched your vid on this. You saved me $200!
It’s the same chassis we’ve seen on multiple RTR’s now just with different bodies on it but regardless of the flaws I think about the performance of a stock TRXM or SCX24 & compared to this one they are terrible & it seems like not even that long ago the first generation of mini Crawlers came out & man compared to those we are spoiled now.
Man I have this rig and have put all the overdrive in both portal gears and pinion. Even put bearing in it. The slop and torque twist is the worst I have ever seen. 😏

Awesome! Thank you, And thanks for checking it out.
Great review as always man! I have that motor with the Meus 2-speed in my TRX4m K10. Love that little motor!
Thank you, and thanks for checking out the video
Great video and review. Glad I got the redcat. And wow your course is epic!!!!!!
Same here! 👍
Thank you, Redcat all day for me. Video proof on how it’s more capable coming soon.
@@obrothersrc Took mine out yesterday to red rocks and it was a blast. Highly recommend trying smaller tires and rubberbands just for 💩's and giggles.

I think the trx4m has the best clip system out there and brushless is complicated and overpriced. Thanks for checking out the video
Is it worth it for 150.00? I got one on sale today for that at heli direct.
I would say yes. I think that’s about what they should have charged from the beginning.
Great video love the pugs I’m a pug dad also. 👍

The redcat ascent 18 w the scout body

Thank you and thanks for the tips. My Brushed evo pro review is dropping tonight. It is also way better and cheaper than the furitek

fenders def Gotta go. Maybe whole new body. Plenty of mods coming. Thanks for checking out the video
I see you have some Watehogs! I have one too!
Nice, i love them as crawlers. The body is perfect for it. Thanks for checking out the video

Def not enough for 200. Buy a Redcat drop 100 in it and it will destroy this thing. Stock Comparison vid coming soon
Just got the ascent18 last week. About to start with some minor upgrades, like brass beadlocks and some good tires.
@ 10:33 LMAO 🤣

True its pretty bad, but you won’t here that from them you tube rc pimps😁. Thanks for checking out the video
LOL, that’s why I don’t get free trucks. Long pause for effect. Truth, but hilarious.
dosent look as wide as the high trail it also has jerky sloppy controls and outdated controller thanks for the video
I Agree 👍but the you tube rc pimp channels who get them for free will never tell u that. Thanks for checking out the video
